Lindsey, I just stumbled upon your UA-cam channel. It is a breath of fresh air. I'm so eager to start journaling in my bible. Thank you...I needed this.
+Apple Vanna thanks! Be sure to take a look around on my UA-cam channel for tips and tricks for journaling in your Bible. HelloJillsky is another great resource here on UA-cam for Bible Journaling :)
⭐✨💥 *Hello Lindsey* I just begin the bible journaling. In my country ( *la FRANCE* ) it was impossible to find a bible for journaling in French. Now, since few monthes, it's ok! Soooo I 'm searching for examples like your video, and I 'am very happy to find some tips 🍾🍷🍇 *_Best regards from a frenchie chriatian channel_* 🍾🍷🍇 𝓑𝓔 𝓑𝓛𝓔𝓢𝓢 𝓲𝓷 J𝓔𝓢𝓤𝓢 𝓝𝓐𝓜𝓔
Absolutely! In fact, I tend to like the results even better when it air dries but I’m impatient and usually trying to rush the drying process for a video 😉
I’m not familiar with any other faith based products that are like this but there are lots of different acetate ephemera out there that would behave similarly.
This is such an amazing technique with a beautiful end result however I have to admit it seems so contrary to spray water onto a bible or book haha I cringed several times but had to remind myself it was a project. Great video, thanks!!
Lindsey I am so bummed I ordered Neocolor crayons was so excited could wait for them to arrive. I opened the box peeled of the plastic only to realize I had purchased Neocolor I instead of Neocolor 2. Can you do a video on these lol
Oh no! My understanding is that those are more like regular crayons crayons (not reactive with water) so I probably won’t be playing around with those but maybe in the future. Maybe you can return them even though they have been opened 😉
I came here following a link from the Christian Post thinking I would learn how to take better notes. Whatever floats your boat as the saying goes. I do like the wide margins, what Bible are you using?
This is a single column journaling Bible from Crossway. The Interleaved Edition is also a great option as it offers a full blank page between each page of text.
I loved this video. I love gelatos as well as clear cuts. However, I struggle with both. As much as I love gelatos, they are so hard to do anything on top of. I find that most adhesives do not like to stick on top of gelatos. I have not tried my Xyron yet. Are you finding that the Xyron adhesive sticks well to the gelato-ed surface?
+Valerie Martin I haven't had any problems with the Xyron sticking. They do eat up pens and things like crazy. I've found that it's better if I use as thin a layer of gelatos as possible.
Hi Lindsey I'm looking for highly. Pigmented pencils to colour my pics something that will give me the pastel colour pigment but in a pencil with sharp points can you recommend something plz I don't want to press to hard to get full colours but my pict are fine detail and a normal pastel is to thick 😥
Hmmm...I can't think of anything quite like this off the top of my head but let me do some investigating to see if there are any mediums that might work in this way. Are you thinking more chalk pastel-like or oil/wax pastel-like?
You can try applying a thin layer of clear liquid glue to the entire back side with your finger...not as invisible as the Xyron but it gets the job done.
Ooh, that's what I did wrong: I didn't go around the edges of each piece really carefully before taking off the backing. I made a beautiful page with Print & Pray pieces, using the Xyron. There was adhesive around the edges of several pieces, making the page stick to the facing Bible page. The only thing I could think to do was put Scotch tape or Avery full page clear labeling over the page. I did the second, and the page now has a dull look to it. I am just heartbroken. At least I took a photo of it before I ruined it. :-(
Oh no! Yes, it's an important step to go around the edges. For the future you can take a dry paint brush and dust some baby powder over any place that is sticky and it will remove the stickiness that is on the page.
+Beth Kirkpatrick yes, it'll just take longer to dry and you'll have to contend with more air blown but it will get the job done. You cannot use a hair dryer for heat embossing though since it doesn't get hot enough.
Not many....scrapbook.com slick writer pens write over gelatos well but they can bleed through at times. You can write over a thin layer of gelato with the Illustrated Faith pen or Faber Castellated Pitt artist pens but the gelatos have a tendency to ruin those pretty quickly.
Funny I was just using gelatos in my bible this evening, and my pens would not work, have them all, but finally the illustrated faith one did, but messed the nib up a bit😬. Wanted to ask you if you always gesso, I've done both, but it seems that water colors behave much better when I don't gesso first. TFS!🎨
Jessica Aspinall they are definitely rough on pens! I actually don't use gesso that often and never under watercolors because I don't like how it makes them behave. I only use gesso under distress inks and if I want my gelatos to blend and move better.
+kimantha moodley you won't have any bleed through but it might be a little harder to get the gelatos to run on the page. You could try it on one of the back pages 😉
I did it. My bible paper is on the edge of breaking, the letters are gone and it has very harsh stripes. I am so sad right now 😣 I messed up 1 john.. I did not use that white stuff before faber castell
What Bible are you working in? You may have worked the page too much but don’t worry. You can add a tip in with the scripture or chalk it up to a learning experience and don’t stress. The gesso does help strengthen the page and helps the gelatos move easier and so it sounds like something you might want to use in your Bible for future entries. Just be sure to get clear gesso so that you can still read the words.
I haven’t ever worked in that particular Bible but it should be similar to mine. The page might feel stiff and crinkly after all the water but that’s normal and will soften over time when the pages are closed.
I think everyone has different preferences. I do like the harder plastic for tip ins and they are great to use as covers on Mini Books like one of my recent videos.
Well I don’t believe they made any more to go with the last several collections though I haven’t had a problem with them on my pages. I guess they just figure people will buy what is appropriate for their personal likes 😉
Lindsey, I just stumbled upon your UA-cam channel. It is a breath of fresh air. I'm so eager to start journaling in my bible. Thank you...I needed this.
I love clear cuts. Thanks for explaining how to put the adhesive on the back.
If there is a product I don’t know anything about, I can always find a tutorial from you as to how to use it! Thank you! You’ve tried them all!
Like the process, as of yet tried it. But hoping soon. 👍🏼
LOVE it! Thank you so much for sharing this technique. I am going to have to try this soon for sure. I LOVE gelatos!
You are so welcome!
I absolutely love your ideas and your blog. Thank you for sharing your gifts.
Thank you!! I'm still getting into the swing of things with the blog ;)
Beautiful! I loved seeing how you use your gelatos.
Beautiful !! Try the Uniball Signo 207 Gel pen. It's waterproof and writes on about anything I've used it on. I found them at Walmart !!
Good 💡 idea
Always love your journaling. Beautiful
Thank you for sharing..............another way to use my gelatos..............Thanks again!!
I just 3 gelatos - color background so pretty.....aw what a neat sticker maker-fun tool....love !! Susan
This is lovely! I'm a visual learner, and your demos & tips are so helpful!
Unique, yet very simple and non intimidating! There is a lot we can learn in Deuteronomy!
I'm new at putting anything in my bible! This was fantastic!

Beautiful. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Love all your work. Such an inspiration for me to express my faith more by creating. God bless your hearT! ❤
Love, love your videos .. when using watercolors is it ok to let the page air dry? Or is it better to dry immediately 🤔
Absolutely! In fact, I tend to like the results even better when it air dries but I’m impatient and usually trying to rush the drying process for a video 😉
I have just started Bible journaling and discovered your channel. I love watching you and your work! You are so helpful and informative! Thank you!
Gorgeous yet simple to do! Thank you for sharing hun!
This is beautiful. 💜💜 and simple tfs
Love this!
I love this! Could you give me a link for similar illustrated faith clear cuts that might be available now? Thanks! Peggy
I’m not familiar with any other faith based products that are like this but there are lots of different acetate ephemera out there that would behave similarly.
I can't wait to try this.
What a great video. I love the colors, this is something I can try. Thank you!
Love your videos thank you for sharing
If you wait a day for the gelato's to cure, you can write on them : )
Deanna Perez Thank you for the tidbit. I’ll do that,
What a great video. Love it.
Came for the art, needed the verse. Thank you. You're doing the work and didn't even know. God bless. 😊 subbed!
Very pretty, thanks for sharing x
Just spent some time browsing through your vids, loved, liked and subbed! Thank you for making these.
Thanks! 😘

Gorgeous!
So beautiful 😍🌸🙌📖!!!
Beautiful
What clear mat do you use for mixing the black gelato on as well as cover your other bible pages on?
It’s a Bible mat but you could also use a cutting mat from the dollar store 😉
I came here following a link from the Christian Post thinking I would learn how to take better notes. Whatever floats your boat as the saying goes. I do like the wide margins, what Bible are you using?
This is a single column journaling Bible from Crossway. The Interleaved Edition is also a great option as it offers a full blank page between each page of text.
What is the craft mat that you're using?
Beautiful work.
It’s a nonstick craft mat from Ranger...you can find them at most craft stores and online 😉
So pretty
I really need to buy me a sticker maker. I have so many of the clear cuts.
Beautiful 🌸☺️❤️

Pretty page! I love Gelatos! What set does the banana and green tea come from?
I’m pretty sure those came in the basic set...should be linked below the video.

Very Nice. Something I can do, I think. TFS
I am a first time viewer. What a great tip to run the clear cuts through the X-yron. Thank you.
onde posso comprar tudo isso que você usou em seu biblejournaling
What glue wont be visible besides the xero purple sticker maker for clear cuts?
You can try applying a thin layer of clear liquid glue to the entire back side with your finger...not as invisible as the Xyron but it gets the job done.
What is it that you put behind the page when spreading the gesso?
Hi, Lindsey. What is the dryer you are using? I'm new to bible journaling! Thanks
+Debbie Perleberg it's a Ranger Heat Tool.
This is so beautiful and I love the technique! Thanks for sharing! God bless, Kim
Lovely!
Have you tried distress crayons in bible journaling?
+Sharon Horton I haven't picked up any since I thought they'd be super similar to the gelatos and I already have a ton of those.
So pretty! 💕
Ooh, that's what I did wrong: I didn't go around the edges of each piece really carefully before taking off the backing. I made a beautiful page with Print & Pray pieces, using the Xyron. LindseyDecor Thank you so much!
LOL "persnickety" - how did I miss that when I watched it the first time?! 😂😂😂
Haley Tryon hahaha! I'll probably never get a job as a professional speaker 😂 My friends always tease me about my "Lindsey-isms" 😂😂😂
Beautiful!🙌🏽
I just came across this video. Lindsey you have come a long way since this was published but your background is beautiful nonetheless
Thanks!
It appeared, as you turned the page a bit, that the gesso or the gelato seems to ruin your page.
All crinkled or puckered.
Am I seeing correctly?
Any kind of moisture does cause the page to wrinkle but I don’t see that as ruined. The page does flatten out over time as the Bible is closed.
Love you are always delicate!
is it possible to use a hair dryer on low heat rather than a specific dryer? I'm trying to do this on a budget.
+Beth Kirkpatrick yes, it'll just take longer to dry and you'll have to contend with more air blown but it will get the job done. You cannot use a hair dryer for heat embossing though since it doesn't get hot enough.
This is so beautiful! I would be so scared to use water hahaha
Not at all! Bible pages can actually stand up to quite a bit.
LindseyDecor wow i did not know that! I always think they are so thin haha
Love it ! I'm a new subby!
So you stamp the date 3-4 times
Only because I like the messy look...you don’t have to do it that way.
My next question was what pen writes well over gelatos?
Not many....scrapbook.com slick writer pens write over gelatos well but they can bleed through at times. You can write over a thin layer of gelato with the Illustrated Faith pen or Faber Castellated Pitt artist pens but the gelatos have a tendency to ruin those pretty quickly.
Will this work without Gesso?
The gelatos won’t move as easily and may leave marks on the page where it’s applied.
Funny I was just using gelatos in my bible this evening, and my pens would not work, have them all, but finally the illustrated faith one did, but messed the nib up a bit😬. Wanted to ask you if you always gesso, I've done both, but it seems that water colors behave much better when I don't gesso first. TFS!🎨

hi, are there line in this bible?
This particular Bible does have lines in the margin but they aren’t too dark.
I just bought clear cuts but I don't have a sticker maker, can I use glue?
+Sharon Davisson you can use any adhesive really, you just might see it a little more then the with the Xyron.
What kind of paper is in your bible?
Just regular Bible paper...it’s much more durable than you would think.
New subbie
I don't have gesso,will it still work out? :(
+kimantha moodley you won't have any bleed through but it might be a little harder to get the gelatos to run on the page. You could try it on one of the back pages 😉
I did it. My bible paper is on the edge of breaking, the letters are gone and it has very harsh stripes. I am so sad right now 😣 I messed up 1 john.. I did not use that white stuff before faber castell

LindseyDecor i have been practising and now it looks better. I ordered some gesso. That might do the trick. I have the inspire bible
I haven’t ever worked in that particular Bible but it should be similar to mine. The page might feel stiff and crinkly after all the water but that’s normal and will soften over time when the pages are closed.
LindseyDecor that is how they feel yes. Thank you! I need some practise 😊
This may have been asked but do you use a hair dryer or heat tool to dry?
I use a heat tool 😉
I'd like to enter your give away.
Sorry but there is no giveaway currently going on.
The word "loves" is not legible since the background is also pink.
You are correct, learn from my mistakes.
Those stickers should be clear vellum, not clear plastic. No one wants hard plastic in their Bible.
I think everyone has different preferences. I do like the harder plastic for tip ins and they are great to use as covers on Mini Books like one of my recent videos.
Yes, they are great for many things. But I would not want hard plastic on my delicate Bible pages. They should listen.
Well I don’t believe they made any more to go with the last several collections though I haven’t had a problem with them on my pages. I guess they just figure people will buy what is appropriate for their personal likes 😉
