  • The path to Cedar Bay is difficult and long, for most it will be a "Rite-of-Passage" with many experiences and wonders awaiting those who are fit for the journey.

When you got over the saddle and said ' thats the hardest part of the hike', I laughed because you hadn't got to the rocks yet! In the 70's when I lived there I used to be able to go out over the rocks and saddle, have a cuppa with my friend at Auravale and get home to the Bay before dark. No pink ribbons in those days.. but a good dog helped. Still a paradise, but wish you could have seen it in the 70's when we lived there. I did it in my late 50's in 2014 ... it took SO long, no more jumping from rock to rock! Thank you for sharing memories with me.

“Cape Restaurant”, was part of Cape Tribulation Resort around 2010. Needs a lot of work!

Would have been nice to pitch a tent on the beach
The return river looked nice .
But I really loved the house at the start of the vid 👌🏼👌🏼

I was in my mum’s belly when my parents lived there in 1977 when it was a hippy commune. My dad would spend his days collecting coconuts from the trees you showed and they planted. Paradise.
Not long after they left the Australian government raided the camp even using our own war ships. They burnt the simple houses and beautiful vegetable gardens to the ground. They found no drugs like they thought they would. Ruined paradise.
Hoping to take my family there next year.
