My parents live in the Daintree, specifically Cape tribulation. My father works for "Rainforest rescue" and through him I was able to volunteer with about 300 other amazing humans, in planting over 3000 different species of trees ♥️🌿. I can't tell you how much it meant to me to be a part of give back to our mother earth 🙏♥️🌿. I'm currently building and putting everything I have into my 1982 VW and once she's ready I'll be making my way up there again to live and plant trees for the rest of my life ☺️🌿.
The Daintree is a place everyone should experience and pay respect to. Thank you for this beautiful documentary 🙏

Forgive my ignorance, but why is it necessary to plant trees there? I thought it is a natural system that takes care of itself?

I live just a few hours from Daintree. Back in the 80s I lived in a tent by a creek there for a few months. I'm just on my way there now, realising how crazy it is to live so close and not spend more time there! This doco has raised my excitement at crossing the river tomorrow. It's actually not a very large area, a little pocket of magic. Just over the back of the hills to the west you're immediately in dry savannah. I hope some of you lovelies from further away can come here sometime, but beware of thinking you can explore easily. There has been a clearing around the edges but the main forest is still virtually impenetrable, so thick. NOT a place to think you can just wander around. A few metres from the road/track and you will get very lost. So beautiful photography the birds etc like this is really impressive even to us locals :) I'm camped by the beach just south of the river tonight. And drat, the beach looks so inviting but there's deadly stingers and crocs so it's just a walk to enjoy the breeze, not the sea.. Ah well. The ferns in the trees make up for it :)

Interesting. I've heard recent research suggests that the 'horn' of the Cassowary assists the bird to hear the low. guttural calls that they make. The sound can be muffled by the thick forest and it is theorised that the horn helps them to 'hear' the vibrations.

Wonderful to see this forest. Never having been to Australia, this is a peek inside the Daintree Forest to experience its very unique looking animals and the amazing vegetation such as the large fanned plants/trees.
Question: how about an Australian person for narration, adding authenticity and nuance and tonality and rhythm to the delivery that others do not have? Sorry British narrator. Australians needs to voice their voices for their lands, including, of course, Aboriginals. And the Australian accent carries its history within it, as necessary to hear as birds talking or rain falling.
Many thanks from America for making this documentary. It is terrific - a breath of Australian air to give us a glimpse of the pristine nature still in abundance there. Beautiful, crystal clear photography, well paced voice-over, and descriptions of the landscape, flora, and animals is a wonder to behold, from many miles away, joined together by an immense love of nature. Cheers.
