    The following is a copy of a review I'd posted for another video by another UA-camr, but I've extended it with more details.
    I'd recently flown on a to-and-fro flight from Singapore to Istanbul, on Turkish Airlines, on the 777-300ER. The flight was decent but here are the issues on the forward journey:
    1. The male attendant servicing my area had an attitude problem, probably due to the high inflation in Turkey, the failed rebellions or something. He was cocky and not polite (different from being rude). I was sitting next to the aisle, but when it came to asking me for my meal preference, he'd said, 'Chicken or fish?', instead of the longer polite question. He was serving the passengers as if he was he's just getting through the day; there was no smile and no extra care.
    2. It seemed as if once the meal trays were collected, the attendants just disappear for several hours.
    3. There was no fan from the ceiling, something that would be helpful when the air-conditioning wasn't working fully yet. The 767 and 757 had such fans and this deficiency felt like the 777 was older than those two models.
    4. The touch screen was really outdated and not sensitive. I had to use a combination of the screen and the dirty-looking cabled controller to choose the media I'd wanted to watch.
    5. The screen was also of low resolution.
    6. The plane took forever to reach the crushing altitude and speed as if the plane could not operate at 100%. It had only gotten there at the coast of India, and while all of us waited, it went through two rounds of mild turbulence, where the seatbelt signs were lit. Was this because the plane is old or the pilots were taking their sweet time?
    On the return journey, I had a window seat. The issues were:
    1. The attendants had disappeared, once the trays were collected. When I'd needed some water, I'd pressed the attendant lights and bell, but nobody came even after a while. I'd pressed it again and, no one came again. On my third attempt, an attendant did come, but I think she was just coincidentally passing by. Together with my much earlier issue with the attendant, it is as if the entire Turkish Airlines attendant staff community had developed an attitude problem!
    2. The table was slanted, which meant the tray kept sliding into my body. Why did aircraft maintenance not spot this issue?
    The main positive for both flights was the relatively good food and the well-stuffed amenities bag that had lip balm, ear plugs, toothbrush and paste, slippers and socks.
    Back to the negatives - The Istanbul Airport was definitely robbing the passengers with their ridiculously priced items and, what's more, in Euros, rather than Turkish Lira! I didn't buy a single thing!

    I remember my flights between Washington DC and Istanbul on Turkish Airlines during the height of COVID 19. In economy seat. Cold meals in paper bag. Everyone wearing masks. Istanbul airport has nice sleeping pods for a fee that can be worth it if the layover is long. Cheers!

    Did they allow you go over 2kg extra? How heavy was your checked bag. I am sure there were lots of bags at the baggage claim from this flight since it was a 777

    • @TripandTravels
      @TripandTravels  6 місяців тому

      Being a star alliance gold status holder, I am entitled to carry an additional 20kgs besides the 30kgs that comes with the ticket. Honestly, I don’t think they will let you carry additional 2kgs for free, you may be asked to remove it if you are unwilling to pay for the extra baggage. Happy flying

    When I booked the tickets, I have opted for my meal preference in the menu provided and it is showing on my e-ticket, should i still call airline a day before to confirm or it will be taken care.

    • @TripandTravels
      @TripandTravels  Місяць тому

      You can reconfirm it on the airline website’s manage booking page. If you dont see the preselected meal mentioned in there, make the selection and submit. That should be it.

    Worst air lines , rude staff , purposely makes you late , so you have to buy tickets from them , it happens with me and with 12 other travelers . Really will never ever recommend.

    • @TripandTravels
      @TripandTravels  4 місяці тому +1

      I don’t think any airline would purposely delay a flight with an intention to make passengers to buy new tickets and make money out of it as the airline will apparently cost a lot on their operations when a flight is delayed and thats way more than the cost of tickets people may buy.

      @@TripandTravels It happens , and i have proofs of screen shows no gates of flights , rude staff cant find gate number , and 12 passengers cant be wrong. It is a ridiculous thing they have done with me and those 12 passengers. And i will never ever recommend.
