James James A top five! Tough call. Massive call. “Don't Let Me Down” my favourite, with about 200 songs vying for top five. Thanks for everything you have done over the years.
Thank you, James! Your guitar highlights how rockin' the Beatles are/were. Even on a quirky, semi-psychedelic tune like this, one can't help but feel the groove. Nice one.
Nice! Three things I'll put out there: 1) I suspect this is another one of those recordings that The Beatles sped up when creating the final mix. Recorded in G but sped up to G# if you try to play along to the original record. 2) There's a "shimmering" G guitar chord that's played when they sing in the verses: "People! Now that you know who you are." etc. To my ear it's: 320031...then F-G-C; then back to that shimmering G chord, and then again F-G-C. 3) Those "Keep all your money..." parts have the bass ascend from Bflat-B-C, so the chords are: Bflatdim [x12020]-G7/B [x20031]-C. Hope this helps! Great work as usual, JJ!
Sounds to me like the bass, the piano, and the guitar are doing different things at times. Sometimes the bass stays in G, the piano goes to F, and the guitar goes to C. And when the bass does that F#, it sounds like the piano/guitar are on G.
An underrated Beatles masterpiece
OzTwanger A Top 5 Beatles tune for me.
I agree! I love Lennon's vocal and the hazy psychedelic feel...

John considered it one of his throw away songs too.
Love that Harrison Strat!!!!!!
Magical Mystery Tour deserves so much more love than it gets..My favorite Beatles album tbh..

One of my top Beatles song, a John Lennon masterpiece!
It's just as much McCartneys as Lennons

Obviously 🤯
The Beatles were always tinkering for a different sound from the very beginning.

You are using “the analogues” as backing track. That’s how brilliant those guys are
Hope you've not been downvoted to shit, great cover. That gnarly strat tone sounds great on top of the cover recording.

Natty Bo!!!
you're playing the verses wrong
Oh, dear.
Natty Bo is the best cheap beer out there. But it's still trash.
