I just would to say thank you so much for this Tutorial video. You just save me so much money especially during this pandemic. I Like to know what type of metal sheet grade is that. I am so happy to see this video.
Great to hear! Glad it was helpful. The sheet metal was scrap from my stock, so not real sure the thickness. Thin enough to bend, thin enough to give a little to wrap around the sides.
The rod holders look like a great idea that I think I would like to make for myself. When I watch you in the video bending them back into the center of the canoe they look very stable, however they also look like they would just flip over the side if a large fish pulled tipping the top away from the center of the canoe. Did you find that to be the case? If you did how did you alter the design?
I don't typically mount the rods while I have baits out, but I would just get some small u bolt and a bungee or rope around the bottom to keep it from pulling away from the canoe. Good thought!
Hey brother! You and I would be good friends if we lived nearby each other I'm sure! I too am a follower of Jesus Christ, an avid canoe fisherman (not kayak or bass boat, etc.) who frequents the lakes of central and northern Ontario. I'm the face of several youtube channels about the outdoors, knives, sports, etc. and my next project is a rod holder for my own kevlar tripping canoe. Good job my friend and I hope you make more vids. Blessings to you - Pete from Ontario, Canada!
That was so well done. Nice job. I'm a little smarter having watched this. Thanks for that.
Aww shucks! Thanks Fat Mat!
I would recommend using some Velcro on bottom to make it more stable
That’s a great idea.
Nice! I'm going to try this. Im avoiding drilling holes in my canoe. Thanks
This is perfect. I've been trying to find different easy ways for rod holders on a canoe and this was the most helpful. Thank you
Glad it could help! More to come!
Really clever, an all black setup would look amazing 🔥 thanks for the video!
I've actually debated on Plasti-dipping the rod holders so they are a little quieter.
I think I’m gonna do the same thing with kydex, and also gonna make a snap on tackle box holder also.
Good work man! I have a similar canoe that I’m outfitting for fishing as well

Good idea, i might use it on my new, used canoe. Thanks 👍🏻😎
Thanks for watching!
I was just trying to figure out a system like this for my canoe. Great idea. Interested in making a few for me?
Might not fit as snug to your boat if I make them.
Nice!
Thanks for the info.
Have you added any more mod's to your canoe yet like add a trolling motor ect?

you should sell these mounts on etsy, maybe do a generic bend to the sheet metal
👍👍👍
How many fishing rods does one canoe need? Absolutely it needs six!!!
Might work better with kydex instead of metal
SMRT 😋
