@@madreckaYep, Rice was PI on the last drive vs the Raiders, and was a no call. This team was up and down with too many close losses. @@madrecka Very painful, and not even the first time either. Bill Belichick defenses almost ended Joe Montana’s career twice. @thomasoaxaca3379 Of course, I recognize Simmons' signature call without even thinking, but until looking it up just now, I always associated it with Mays' career. Thanks for providing the impetus for the research. I learned that McCovey was evidently one of Lon's favorite people. Part of the great 49ers late-season surge of '88. Thanks for posting. :)
Thanks, I was missing this from my 1988 49ers season. The quality looks good too :D
49ers in 1988 started the season 5-5 and the season 10-6 and SUPER BOWL champions. It's not how you start, it's how you finish.
No they started 6-5 as they were 6-4 before losing to the Raiders 9-3 in week 11.

The Saints' starting four linebackers in 1988 were as good as any LB corps in NFL history.
Morten Andersen was not a grass kicker...showed up here, showed in Jacksonville in 1995, showed up in the Super Bowl.

No doubt. Craig and Watters
