I'm glad Hotone has made good on what they've talked about in the past. It took a while but I think the unit is now in a good place to compete with its peers. Look forward to updating my unit and getting a smooth workflow out of it. As always John, thanks for the update video 🤝
Thanks for this. I’m so glad I bought it, I don’t gig much and dig how small and inexpensive it is. I want the most simple rig possible and this update solved the little glitches and problems I had with it. It feels peerless for the price.
@@DylanODonnell just take care. You're talking to a bass player. It's bad for each of our reputations if we're spotted in discussion, even if we both spend stupid amounts of time twiddling with technology in our respective gardens.
Yes, I believe they did. I really think they have upped their game in the last few months and I'm starting to invest more and more time into Ampero stuff. I've had it sitting in a box for a very long time, but finally pulled it out.. and actually plugged it in! Instead of watching other people use it. There are many things they could improve in the future, but I'm really starting to take them seriously now.. I've already created a full screen mode for the editor (a custom script within Windows) so that I can toggle in and out of full screen when doing software tweaking. I'm not a big fan of the touch screen, I think it's too small (you mentioned that). However.. it can be good for minor tweaks or on the go adjustments. The code for the new editor was completely rewritten for the Stage, and the presets are cross compatible between Stage/Stomp. Metronome, Drum Machine.. lots of positives. The UI side of things is much improved and you can turn the knobs on the pedal and the software doesn't have that awful bug where it pauses and refreshes. Maybe they fixed it earlier, I'm not sure.. but I was surprised how responsive it is now. Apparently a lot of the other older bugs are gone as well, going into the tuner or looper or whatever it was but you went into depth on that very well in this video. A lot of the "deal breakers" are gone. I agree the Stage form factor is superior, but I think they are both good in different ways. This might pair better on a pedal board, with a tube amp for effects only.. etc. Or for something small to take with you over a friends house in a backpack for practicing late at night. Stage is a great all in one solution for proper set lists. The UI is definately designed (and looks better) on the Stage. But the basic intuitive UI is good on both. I like Ampero's way of dialing the tones in, it's pretty simple and easy to use. By the way, the company's name is "Hot Tone" not "Promiscuous Tone". But both are equally as corny..
Bro, I think you are one of the best guitarist that I have discovered. Your style and grace are captivating to listen too. Just fantastic playing. I could listen to you for hours just noodle around :). Keep it up and look forward to more to come.
I bought a Ampero Stomp last Black Friday for 300 euros, and now I have this update for free... The Hotone Ampero Stomp has become the best moddeler for he price.
And here Hotone users were losing hope in the forums because of the Stage release. Hotone made good on what people asked for. Now they need to the firmware update on the Mini.
Well not really, it does not eat the hx stomp. I way more prefer the feeling of hx stomp on headphones over ampero stomp... Wayyyyy better experience with line 6 products
Also, i know its a bit of a long shot, but would you compare the Stomp to the FM3? I know the Fractcal stuff is just way beyond, but i think that a lot of people would do very well if they're looking at an FM3 but can definitely settle for the Stomp. I know im one of those people.
Hi.You have a very cool sound and sense of melody. I wish you good luck in your creativity. Your videos about Hotone ampero stomp helped me a lot. Thank you.

@@davidthomas9960Yeah, for sure. I have an FM3, this Ampero Stomp 2, and a Digitech RP360XP as it has the best drum loops I've heard in a modeler. The FM3 is great, but I really like small, like a Tonex or this Stomp 2. Small and portable is what everyone is after now. 👍
As long as the latency doesn't both you.. combing digital units like this can create extra latency. Ampero II has slightly higher latency than competitors.. a couple of ms. It's improved if you use IR instead of cab modelling. The latency bothers some people, and others it doesn't. The Boss units have extremely low latency and work better for that but this will work too. Ampero II + Tonex is a powerful budget solution.. something one could only dream of 5 or 10 years ago.
The two things I want the most now is a vst plugin of the editor (with audio outs) to use within a DAW and better pitch/octave/harmony effects I'm pretty happy with it overall tho edit: a drum sequencer with a sampler, plus the Stage's vocal effects, would be pretty nice too
Yeah I get why you would get the stage now given the option. But I've had the stomp 2 for a few years, and can't justify the stage, now that the stomp is more or less the same minus a couple hardware buttons and larger screen.
Will Fractal and neural launch their own compact devices? Personaly I doubt it, because fractal is better than that, and neural is busy with plugin compatability. What do you guys think?
I think neural would have better luck making a compact device from scratch that plays their plugins. Instead of forever trying to make the QC compatible to make good on a promise that probably was never deliverable.
Hi, how about the latency? I think it is solved now because of the scenes. Am i right? Coz before when there were no scenes yet, it really has a gap when u switch presets. And how about the overall latency?😊
Hows it with suitability with bass? Are there cabs and sims? Possibilites to upload it there? Still thinking between HX and Ampero II, but mainly for a bass. Thats your opinions?
How do you think the effects hold up? I was thinking about buying a Fractal FM3 as an all purpose modeler and multi effects unit, I would love to get the Ampero but I’ve heard mixed reviews of the effects processing
The “hickup” problem while switching preset also fixed…nice update hotonee🎉

Yes a VST but it should be easy for it to take MIDI DUMP to play a Drum Track.

This is by far better than an HX Stomp

Sounds like all the other modelers….tinny and fake. I’ve owned them all….worst by far for negative coloring of tone is the QC.
I just would like the name of the preset appears as big as the number of the preset. I can't remember numbers!
