  • What's up guys! Today's video is Jump Training For Volleyball Players To Jump Higher in volleyball. It's a vertical jump training for volleyball players, so we start off with some plyometrics for jumping and then move into strength training for volleyball. The theme of today's video is being explosive and reactive with our jumps and movements. We want our tendons to be stiff so that we can spring up faster and higher. We do this by working on getting off the ground fast and training our muscles and structural tissue to absorb force quickly and turn that into more energy. The plyometrics are all about staying stiff and rebounding off the ground, something extremely important for volleyball players to do with the repetitive jumping nature of the sport. The strength training follows the same format, staying stiff, pulling yourself down, and propelling yourself up. This jump training for volleyball is all about being reactive and quick, so jumping high over and over again in volleyball. Give it a shot!

We'll add a cpl to our training regiment. I highly suggest everyone uses a lot of caution or start low on the polymeric box jumps...many facilities have begun to remove them due to injuries caused by tripping...

Do you have a routine that I can copy for my granddaugher? Reps and sets I know it's like twice per week. But would love an actual written routine for her.

Hello! We have a ton of workouts on youtube with the programs on there, so you can take all of those workouts and just copy them! I'm not sure if you were wanting something more specific for your granddaughter, but if you do, we do have custom online training programs that we would make just for her.

It just depends on each person, their training life, their sports schedule, etc. I think it's important to strength train a couple times a week, however, if you're a volleyball player, you also want to make sure you're working on other disciplines (change of direction, agility, etc.) in addition to jump training. If your main goal is to increase your jump, then hit it a couple times each week!
