I'm still working, I'm in the medical field. I try to read on my limited time off. But watching you in my down Tim helps pass the time.
That last point is great. You can get you books put into Excel sheet, add price you've paid, publisher, date bought, number of pages... This can create pretty cool stuff like finding out price per page, how many hardcover books vs softcover books you have, how many pages there are on your shelf etc. Pretty interesting stuff.
As an artist i collect, read and draw. I used to have renters insurance for my first apartment with STATE FARM, to insure most of my belongings especially my comics at the time.
I bagged and boarded my singles, sleeved all my Magic cards, arranged my movies and finally got my collected edition library arranged into rough reading orders
I'm definitely guilty of going over the top with cleaning my collection
literally been doing all this stuff lol, feels so nice having everything perfectly organized

I've been catalogueing both my issues, tps and statues recently. The statues are in an excel sheet, with one tab for in house and one for sold.
There i have the statue name, number, manufacturer, srp, paid price, eBay lowest price, if any damage, suggested sale value and percentage increase/decrease in value since purchase. It's been really fun actually cause you get to go over and reapretiate your collection!
I am one of those who has a home office during these times so I can't say I have much more free time, but it's nice spending it with your collection!
Greetings from Brazil! Doing hardcore readings over here. Bought a lot of stuff in the past year but haven't read a good chunk of it, but with the lockdown this came in handy... comics will save our minds!
Good video gem.Man I get anxiety when I pick up books and don’t read them it goes away when I finish them
1) Where do you think that dust is going? To another statue. Vacuum them with the blinds attachment, ultra low setting. Also vacuum the top of each omni, arcades, and more. If you feel the dust is tacky, your ventilator in you kitchen is not doing it's job.
2) Too many of us need to do this, it does matter guys, B&B all single issues. Ofc, if you are going to have them slabbed, this is a must. Here's an observation: no 9.8cgc I have has actually been read. I still B&B all single issues I read.
3) or was it 4) those bottom cardboard boxes will absorb much more moisture then the top ones. They should be on pallets.
5) There's a collectors app that covers any type of collection. A bit pricy, but I am looking at it, as I collect several different types of....things. Downside is you need a subscription for each type of collection.
6) Don't have people over. WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN.
Good stuff my dude. Only thing I’d say is having dividers in my short boxes has made it much easier to organize and find various runs.

During the lockdown I’m working lol. Manager at Costco. We are essential personnel. During my free time/off I’m reading manga backlogs.
What Manga are you reading? I've been out of the loop for manga for almost a year now. Naruto and Bleach are finished, and I haven't read AOT, One Punch Man, or One Piece in over a year lol.
dont know how its been at your costco but at the one near me in the uk its been insane, the line to get in one day stretched from the store entrence right out onto the main road, something like a third of a mile, and thats people, not cars
MarkoRollo it hasn’t been bad at all. We are limiting people coming in, making people stand 6ft apart, splash guards. Anything we can to keep everyone safe.

Yo Gem another idea for anyone that uses the Key Collector app..I've been going through all my boxes and pulling keys and have a separate box or boxes for the keys. I also have my entire collection of comics,omnis and statues insured through Collectinsure...can vouch for them as one statue was stolen from my car (in box) and another one I accidentally broke moving it. I placed two claims and got paid within a week time..great company.I highly recommend getting your collection insured..great video Gem..stay safe!
I need to organize my Spider-Man comics in order
I just organized my books and even wrote on a paper taped to the outside of the box stating what's inside. So I can right to the box needed.

i buy silver age bags and boards and fit 2 comics per bag, 1 on each side of the board. saves money on bags and boards in the long run.
"Why do we have sealed omnibus during quarantine?!" Started laughing my ass off... I know that feel. In the last two weeks I've had enough time to knock out Iron Man by Kurt Busiek, Geoff Johns' Aquaman, BLAME! (manga you would love if you like Berserk), and Kieron Gillen's X-Men run.
How long does it take you to read one omni?
@@gameshalo3907 Depends on how engaging it is, usually between 5-9 days. I finished Aquaman in like 3 because it had excellent pacing and not a ton of expository dialogue.
How was Busiek's Iron Man?
@@anthonygarcia8749 It was so-so. Busiek plotted the whole thing, but only actually wrote about half of it. He left the book right as it was finding its groove, and then Roger Stern took over scripting and it was pretty average the rest of the way. I will say that The Iron Age miniseries that Busiek wrote that closes out the book is great, though. Highlight of the whole thing.
This felt like a really cool airline safety video.
I use clz comics to catalog my singles and omnibus. It has a monthly fee now but if you're o.g. it was a one time fee of 14.99 they are constantly updating it and improving it.
Been getting through some spawn, punisher and vigilante comics. Stay safe out there and hopefully it'll blow over soon

I have about 2-3 months of books that need to be put away in short boxes. I attempted yesterday but it was a little daunting. Haha. But your vid gave me motivation to continue! Got plenty of time right now.
I loved this video, gave me a good laugh and all great suggestions actually. Should keep me busy for awhile. I ran out of drawing supplies so I was struggling to find stuff to do.

If you finish those other books, you ought to read absolute new frontier. One of my favorites.
You need to flip flop your books (front side to back side) so your spines are on Opposite sides.
Alot of comics are gonna get read and organized these next couple weeks 😂
I scored the X-men inferno omnibus for cover price right before the lock down. So I plan on reading that and I have a few Spider-Man omnis to read as well. I have been reading almost 4 trades a day out of my back log lol im not going to have a back log after this is over!
Great video. I still have to report to work, but because it's slow, I have been working on that backlog
I have all my single issues alphabetized in filing cabinets. Thinking of getting a label maker though to label where all the series start etc. also CLZ comics is the only way to catalog your collection! Probably going to dust the pop figures though, good idea haha

Started my inventory for my comics using excel. I have key collector app to have a rough idea how much my keys are worth. Put in a nice sized order from instock so Im waiting for that to come in too. Awesome video keep killin it 🤘 and stay safe everyone!

A can of compressed air like Dust-off is good for cleaning statues also, but it wreaks hell with your allergies if you stand too close

That make up brush tip is very very useful...
The packing material from CGC makes excellent spacers for your comic boxes so your books don't fall over. They are about inch and half cardboard pieces that are very easy to cut and fit in your comic box to fill that space so your books don't fall or lean and bend.

You could use some comic dividers to separate your runs and it makes them easier to find what you are looking for
I store my comics front to back so that the spine girth doesn't bunch up on one side. Works pretty well.
I caught up on my weekly pull reading, scanned all my books into CLZ, and I started reading X-Men Vol 1! I've never read Vol 1 and I'm somewhere in the first 15 issues so far. I also got a Spawn trade which I want to start soon too!

I use Comics Price Guide to keep track of my collection. I need to organize better. Lots of short boxes, but you’re right. No excuse not to get this 💩 done! Maaannnn, I’m digging your omnibus collection more and more every time I see it. Looks great!
Swiffer Duster is much better than a makeup brush in my humble opinion. A makeup brush is fine and all, but it’s too small and too tedious. I also think it’s more abrasive than the fluffy Swiffer. The Swiffer also collects dust particles, as it acts like a clingy magnet. The makeup brush does not. But again, not saying the makeup brush is bad, I just prefer the Swiffer. But good sound advice all around...love how she recommends plastic wrapping the boxes, that’s great advise. I had a slight flood in my basement a couple of years ago...and some of my boxes got slightly wet. Had they been wrapped or inside hefty bags, the boxes would never been in contact with water. They were not ruined, but were wrinkled a bit. Good video!

I use a swiffer duster for my statues
I need to finished The Evolutionary war omnibus just only the last it will be my first omnibus that I finished reading

I don't have statutes but I already rearranged my books, and I read a lot more.
