Once you see the rows upon rows of comics in boxes you are amazed at the accomplishments of this art form over time. All the love and dedication poured into this creative passion.Impressive.
Thank you!
Yes
It's a nice collection, and that's what it really is. Chuck's collection. Anything that's worth collecting is horribly overpriced so you won't buy it, or if you do buy it, they can easily replace it and make a nice little profit off it.
LoL...This brings back certain nightmares. I once worked in a Government warehouse that held every form used by all five military services. We received and stocked truckloads at least three times a week. Thankfully today, everything is on computers.
It would be cool if there was an online 3D tour for this place
No wonder comics are scarce and getting harder to find because that comic store has most of them.
😂😂😂
That’s actually a very bad thing for collectors and newer people looking for specific items he can control the market just by how many he has which a year later and now look at the market 😂
@@Jordan-sv3pu Just hope he has a good will, he isn't getting any younger and if this passes over to someone who doesn't have any passion for the business then the market could become flooded and tank it. Trying to value a collection like that to sell would be impossible. It's darn near priceless.
@@johnwayne2103 that's what i got from this too, market is likely over saturated.
this is amazing, adding this place to my bucket list
For sure
You hit the nail on the head! Truly is a bucket list visit! I am figuring out when to go as I type!
dude it is epic i live here and cant be overstated
Me#1Collector so true! Lol
I'm jealous! When things get better, I'm def planning a road trip to this place!
Mile high wasn't named because they were in Denver, but because of their prices
Old joke. Lol
Regardless, I was able to pickup some nice fills for my comic book collection back in the early 80's from this amazing place.
Jesus Escatiola nice!
Doubtful
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Ya man, I appreciate your video and love for the comic book collectors. I just ignore the haters.
To imagine how many pages of original art which produced a lot of these books is breath taking😮
I love how the store was organized, that is how I would do it if I had that many comics and such. They are honored and displayed in such an inviting way.
Very true! He does a terrific job with display overall.
It just warmed my heart to see how excited you were during the introduction, and it just escalated in the store! It made us excited too! How cool you got to walk in with Chuck! Most of my immediate family is in Colorado so I’m checking to see if they’ve ever been there! Thank you for sharing 😀
Definitely let me know if they have been there. So excited. I’m going back today! Lol
Prime Time Treasure Hunter I definitely will!! Awww have yourself a blast!! 🥳
Was happy to hear the disclaimer regarding the employee only sections. I've been going to MHSS on an off for more than a decade. Nice folks but very surface level. Certainly a place comic fans should visit but a little underwhelming if you're looking for some of the rarer books/ out of print collections and art books. Staff always seems too busy to talk shop or turn you on to something you were unaware of. They are always doing some major restructuring and over half the building is cordoned off like a construction site. They need to hire more staff honestly. I hate to bag on them cause I think they are nice people doing the best they can to keep up. Just not the type of shop you go to and form a relationship with.
Wow, I knew the place was big, but to see it like that brings it to life. I don't think I ever realized that he had an actual walk in store. I've always though it was a warehouse for online sales. While I was watching, my oldest son came in the room and asked what it was. I told him it was Mile High in Denver. He has friends there so I told him that he must visit the store the next time he visits his friends.
Oh totally. He has had several stores and a warehouse but then he consolidated the warehouse and some stores into the mega store.
Looks like the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark. Somewhere in there inside a crate lies the Ark of the Covenant
lol
I just discovered your channel today. Subbed and gave it a thumbs up. I started my love for reading comics at 10 here in Philly which was in 1978. Lost my entire collection to a fire that started at my next door neighbors house in 1983. Talk about feeling like I lost a beloved family member. I also remember Mile High Comics two page ads, yellow with black type. I actually smiled while watching your tour. It took me back to a time when being a kid was fun. I'm 51 now and still have a love for and still collect when I can. Thank you PTTH. On to part 2.
Thanks Jameel. Please see the series through to the end. When you get there, let me know. Some ppl have been very moved but you’ll understand why when you get there. I appreciate you being a new subscriber and sharing your story. So sorry to hear about that fire. Welcome to the primetime family.
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter I sure will. Again I've always had a fascination with Mile High Comics since the early 80's. Seeing it from the inside gives it perspective. Now with this plandemic, I mean pandemic I've had more time at home to watch the things that are of interest to me. Thank you for solving the mystery surrounding this place for me. Respect always PTTH!!
I remember ordering books from Mile High Comics ads in Marvel Comics way back in the day. I was lucky enough to be in the Denver area a year ago and spent the majority of one day within those hallowed walls. It was truly awe-inspiring on the first visit. It felt like getting into Wonka's factory if you will excuse the comparison; too much to take in visually and a little overwhelming. Thanks for the great trip down memory lane. I hope to get back there one day soon!
I have dabbled in comics my whole life..I collected 20,000 before I finally ended up selling my collection.I remember ordering comics from Mile High Comics as a kid in the 70s.I now wish I had all my books back that I sold of course.I got no way near the money for them I should have.I had complete collections of everything except Amazing Spiderman.I lacked the first 9 issues and of course Amazing Fantasy issue 15. I later opened a comic book store myself in 1993 in Indiana. That lasted about 3 years as Video Games took over all the kids money and I had to close.I had so many mint condition books that I could easily be a millionaire today if I sold what I had back then.
this is amazing! I love how passionate you are about the store tour! Trade paper backs are great for people on a budget looking for the whole story and not looking to just make a profit.
Thanks so much! Glad you liked it!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter You definitely have inspired me to take a road trip sir.
@@Odinarcade00 tell chuck I said hi!
I used to annoy Mark from The Buckingham location throughout the 90's by my mere presence, (my friend Adam worked there for a while) such a nice & knowledgeable dude.
Overwhelming. As soon as I was to enter my wallet would explode💵💵💵💵💣Damn
Lol
Prime Time if you're in Denver who's watching over Syracuse? Great video. When you see an amazing place like that, so huge and so cool, it's almost system overload. It's just as mentally exhausting seeing all the things at once as it is physically exhausting walking through it. So make sure to pace yourself. Enjoy your visit and have a safe trip back.
Pink Panther and Petey have things on lock down! Yeah, I came back today just to shop so I can get over the initial shock. Lol
OMFG!!!! This is the craziest thing iv ever seen
It’s amazing. In person, it’s even more breathtaking! Thanks for checking it out!
having it all in one building is such a massive risk. i would move site to having like 4 different buildings with different ages in and limit the potential loss.
Chuck is a visionary and leader....much respect for him!!
For sure
was super excited to go! but everything is overkill in price sadly. Alot of cool rare stuff though
We visited Mile High Jason St. Megastore a couple years ago. It was INSANE!
This place is insane. Never wanted to travel over to America so much! Awesome Video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This looks like my comic book collection, except every box is contains one comic. Also subtract half of the boxes, then remove the other half. Also add 20
Lol
Excellent as always. Started watching the other day, and just now got back to finish.
Thanks Don! I’ve turned this into a multipart series now. Just posted part 5!
I'm a massive Doctor Who fan and its great to see Target Paperbacks there. The original 1970s/80s ones are very expensive to collect in the UK now.
Yeah those were awesome. I still have some
I just started a comic book business and this video really helped me a lot!
Thanks. Please subscribe
I am in France ans I am going to cry...I want to be there right now. I could not imagine a place like this could exist.
It’s amazing!
My Wife & I took an impromptu roadtrip to Moab, Utah & our trip took us through Denver. I remember telling myself, that I needed to specifically go to Mile High because I didn't know when I was going to be able to ever get back. It's a wonderful place & (even my wife) picked-up some stuff,, she loved the large Spiderman & I love the human sized Gambit & Silver Surfer. I wanted to buy a shirt but they had none on stock.. Awesome vid & spectacular place..😊🤙
Thanks! I got there just in time before the pandemic!
This comic store shows up inside of some silver age comics in the form of ads. That’s how i found out about it
Yup. A classic
I remember being a kid & coming across Milestone order catalogs in comics all the time. Never actually thought they had a store....... I got to go to Denver now!!!
About 20 years ago, I spent $100 dollars on a box of comics that I was able to pick and choose from boxes which were labeled $1 a comic. I bought 12 boxes, of those long boxes, when I had my first few jobs. I paid probably less than a penny a piece per issue, but I gave them away a few years ago, to the Goodwill, and Disabled American Veterans {DAV}, with only keeping the most valuable comics that I had, like platinum age, and first appearances by Wolverine, Spider-Man Annual 1 and Silver Surfer type comics. My most favorite was that I got all 5 of the 1917 "Charlie Chaplin's Comic Capers" books, which reprints the comic strip, from 1915-1917. Hopefully soon I'll finish my video review, and reading of the first book in the series.
Wow, that’s cool. Thanks for sharing!
I could just imagine. ..that's like bucket list stuff...ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.
Love it
Make sure you ask Chuck about how he started the value-ing of comics by sales data and rarity. If you read Wizard or Overstreet price guide, then you should know that Chuck is the one who gave them those prices.
He didn't begin that practice. Robert Overstreet was the first to collect the data and average it. Chuck Rozanski didn't start contributing sales data to Bob Overstreet until the early 80s. You may be thinking of Howard Rogofsky, who was an advisor to Overstreet and Wizard from day one.
WOW! I'm not really into comics, but I'm in awe and thoroughly excited about this! Thanks for the awesome video. I can't wait for the next episode. Also, he needs a whole staff of eBay listers.
He sure does! Lol! Thanks for watching Steve!
EARTH-SHAKING!! That place must be the HOLY-MECCA for comics!! Compared to that place, my own collection is just a microscopic particle. Hey, I'm satisfied from just completing my Justice League collection from the 1960s.
That is hilarious. Microscopic particle indeed. Lol
Ohhh yesss i salivated at the 28 minute mark over the Star Trek ships display!! I am tickled you mentioned me!!
So the words YUGE humongous gigantic just aren’t descriptive enough! 😲
I’m so happy to know the whole story of your childhood wonder about what the store looked like and now the fulfillment of that dream! 💯💥🔥🥳
Thanks! Soon as I saw that I thought of you! I went back again today. Lol
Every time you filmed up @24:20 & showed the sprinkler system, my heart hurt ... just the notion of those emergency sprinklers going off is frightening for a book lover.
For sure
Davi Clar sure would!
Now I have seen a Mile High collection. Thanks for the tour. Most definitely a future road tour.
I've smoked SO MUCH WEED in that parking lot just chillin' reading my latest score.
LEGEND
I had to double look if I read this right as I was smoking on my break
I used to mail order from them as a kid. Over 25 years ago. They had great priced and good stuff.
Mile High Comics is an awesome comic book store!!
I would happily move into this place.
Chuck is amazing. A friggin legend. Thanks for the video. Look forward to seeing the others tonight! :)
Thanks! Enjoy the series and please subscribe
Very impressive collection 👌👌👌
Can you imagine how many gems they must have ?!!! Omg i would love to just go there and go nuts shopping.
Guaranteed he pulled all the big books and over priced them
Whoa!!! This place is massive!! Btw love to hear you say huge 😂😂 you never pronounce the H. I’m super intrigued to hear his story. Love that this will be a series! Btw awesome shout out for Esme! Star Trek! Also - perfect video just in time for lunch! 👍🏻
I think I’m famous for the huge thing. My NY accent. Lol. Thanks for watching! Looking forwards to putting up more vids about this!
At 25:57 I got that same book, Superman Vs Spiderman, in what I can tell is the same condition (if not in better, I know mine is better than VG) for less than 100 at my local comic book shop. You can get that book off Ebay for far less. The store seems pretty amazing in terms of pure volume but it seems pricey. One of those, it definitely has it if you're looking for it, but you're going to seriously pay for it, places.
It sure has its fair share of price items but other less pricey selections too.
Wow!!! This place is huge, Chuck can stop sourcing now, lol.
He won’t though. Lol
Chuck and co should be up there with Stan Lee because of what they've done for the world of comics.
Great show.
Thanks. Be sure to watch the whole 9 part series
The Comic Gods have spoken
If anyone ever asks when Chuck Rozanski is going to retire....hell, he's been living in retirement since 1969.
Insane how big this Place is and How much they have Definitely want to visit this place someday.
Yeah, you should go for sure
WOW. That place looke PARADISE!!! 🤩🤩🤩 there are so much comics! I have got to go check it out someday.
This takes my breath away and thats an understatement unbelievable and impressive
Dom, thank you so much. I have always wanted to see this place. Great work on the video series .Matt Highsmith
Thanks! It was tons of fun!
Crazy😮😮😮😮😮
Indeed!
Speechless......onto the 2nd video....can't wait :) I just kept thinking that I'd pay to be able to make a tent out of blankets and chairs with a flashlight in hand and spend the night in there. :)
Don’t forget the marshmallows! Lol
I must visit this place before i die !!
The word FIRE 🔥 must be illegal there 😂
Awsome this place is a freakin museum !!
Impact is the same with your channel for me Prime...told you before...I would have quit! Great production man!
So glad to have made a positive impact! Thank you neutron!
Nicely done, Dominic! I've caught up on all my reseller videos, so I'm super excited to watch this series. Been looking forward to it! Off to number 2! -Kevin
I was in total awesome overload! What an operation Dom! Anxiously awaiting the rest of the series 😁
Thanks Karen! Can’t wait to put up the other vids!
really upping your content Dom!
Thanks!
i used to buy comics to him in the 90`s. good old times
A legend
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter i live in Chile, so I made my purchase by catalog and using post mail. I never had a problem.
Does he keep them in bags to discourage reading?
27.28 I thought that was a handgun, i was like wait what?? lol
I've bought multiple comics from Mile High on Ebay. Most of them were returned. Mile High suffers from massive over grading. I would love to go to this store but I would avoid on eBay. You need to see what you are purchasing. Their prices are ridiculously high on Newsstand copies of anything. I would still love to go to the store in person.
Insane, insane awesomeness
Thanks!
9:58 I might need one of those shopping carts if/when I go there😂
I am humbled by the human imagination. All these books came from a writer and artist👍. I thought Amoeba music (original store)in L.A. was huge, this is much more massive.
Man! I’d love to check this place out
It was amazing!
I want my ashes to spread here.
Lol
You need a gimbal or image stabilizer. Thanks for making great content dude.
Man!!! Ive got to one day go to Mile High Comics.
I would plan like a week visit so I could spend time
I used to visit a big comic store and they gave 1 free comic to anyone who bought 2 comics or more, but the kick was that the 1 free comic was recommended by the staff, thats how I was introduced to great artists like Moebius or Manara. They gave the free comic in a way that they teased you to continue buying the arch or story plot. It was very clever and helped both partires, I wished they did in mile high these type of things that show a real love for the medium, and not just greed.
I dont think they would be in this business if they didnt have a love for the medium.
I could happily spend my life in there
Lol
Wow, that is a store that I would love to visit (not sure will be going to Denver for a while though from the UK). Have to say, it is the most impressive store I have ever seen (the best we have is the superb 30th Century Comics in London). Loved the quirky items that we also on display such as the records etc
It is amazing!
@@PrimeTimeTreasureHunter Yes, I can well imagine ... it must be great to visit the place, certain I could spend my entire holiday there !
I remember ordering from them through the old fashioned mail system back in the day............
Painting the stairs in rainbow colors. A political statement the first thing you meet when arriving at this mecca of fantasy escapist entertainment.
It might not be 'political' at all. It could simply be for esthetic effect.
With today's price of lumber, those wooden shelves are probably worth more than the comics!
WOW! There are no words.
True! I’m literally there right now the next day just to do some shopping and try and take it all in some more.
Wow! It's the Disney world of comic books. I once had a small comic book collection of nearly 6,000 which I sold in 2010. However I missed the joy of collecting comics and 2013 started collecting them again. Lucky for me I saved 500 comic books from of my original collection which made the process a little easier.
I wouldn't call 6000 comics a 'small' collection! lol
It’s like Jorge Luis Borges’s Library Of Babel - but with comic books. 😍😍😍
Lol. Funny
My favourite Wolverine comic book cover that I own is a Miles High Comics exclusive SAVAGE WOLVERINE #1 by J. Scott Campbell that I bought off of a friend 6-7 years ago for $10. My all time favourite Wolverine cover; thx Chuck...!
DoM!!! Awesomeness!!! Man what a treasure trove! Simply amazing... Love you channel and content!! TOP SHELF MY FRIEND!!! The Don and Dom brothers are my favorite. I'm sure I told you this!!! Cant wait to see this series. I will stay tuned for sure... it gets no better than this.. Can't say it enough this is going to be an OUTSTANDING Series!!! Till the next one DOM!!!
Wow Steve! So glad you liked it! Thanks so much for watching! Can’t wait to put up the other vids!
Ive watched some videos of chuck getting interviewed seems like a nice guys definitely be a place to visit if i get the chance
Kind of like the Grand Canyon - words don't do justice. One question - how much does Chuck like you?? Just wondered what the chance was of you inheriting the business from him. Colorado would be a lovely place to live.
Lol. He likes me a lot but not that much. He wrote me a birthday message which I have framed behind me on the top left on the screen with the photo from this video thumbnail. Let me know when you make it to the end of the series.
I would totally geek out and go broke there!! Great video!!
Thanks! Lol. Put it on your to do list. Lol
I love seeing that shop👀👀💕💕💕
my goodness... that was amazing... and very impressive indeed.... thanks... :)
Great video! I'd love to see european section of comics, Drunna, Thorgal, etc.
OH MY GOD, its beautiful, i want to live there
Lol. It’s awesome
My lord.... that's a lot of comics.
Sure is!
It reminds me of the end of Raiders!
If this wasn’t a store And his personal collection he’d have the world’s largest comic book collection ever and nobody could top him even if they tried
So true!
Ahhh! Comic-Book-Geek, Nirvana!
It looks like he's got books that you won't even find in *Overstreet's Collector's Book!*
Exactly!
HVAC must be CRITICAL to this operation! 😀
