It would be nice to add a little seasonal field for the holidays. Like a graveyard or pumpkin patch for (Fall) Halloween. X-Mas trees. Easter field. Flower field for spring. And for summer you could have a community Swimming pool. But you will have to cut a tiny hole in the table so the pool can sit ground level. Then when you need to swap sections for another holiday, and make sure it is built stong enough just to sit over the hole for the pool.
You are genuinely one of the only channels I actually watch as soon as the notification pops up! It's so great watching this beauty come to life & very much looking forward to seeing future develpment!
Love the design of this new city layout, but now on this scale, I think that the mountain might start to feel small, and out of place. This could be fixed by upscaling the trees and potentially tweaking parts of the mountain. It would also allow for the construction of a lookout tower or castle on the mountain, which would look cool, especially with the proximity to the rural area
It’s not very Lego:y but I think the mountain could possibly be continued by painting on the wall, would honestly not feel to out of place if it’s further away
@@Firefrab I agree with this approach; taking a few pages from model railroading hobby practices of selective compression could help a lot at making more detail fit into less space without feeling like everything is way too close together.
Just some ideas for inspiration: - a forest with a camp or some cabins, maybe a birch forest to make some other kind of trees - a city park with different kind of tree (japanese cherry tree, birch tree, etc.) - a lowered section in front of the village with more natural seaside, like a beach in a cove, some reef or a old creaky wooden dock - an evolving module with different festivals all around the year: erntedankfest, summer music festival, weihnachtsmarkt, etc.
Yes I was also thinking it would be nice to have a festival or carnival spot there! It would add a bit of life to the city and make a nice spot where he could fit in a bunch of small little fun builds, and it would make a great opportunity for story telling with the minifigs.
I would love to see you try to slope the road up to the tracks. That might help make it look more natural than the big slope pieces you have on it now.
I said the same thing! Plus he could add a drainage culvert running along the road or something, using the slope of the road to make it look natural. Incorporating those details and small elevation changes can also help break up the "flatland" look lego often gets.
I think adding some more farm fields would be nice. You only have one on it’s own. Perhaps some ploughed fields with a tractor etc… you can also add an orchard and farm shop
Just to put my geek hat on, Network Rail refers to the lights and signs just as "Warning lights". Level crossing includes the Warning lights, Barriers, and Road markings.
Every-time I watch one of your city updates in just truly blown away. The amount of detail you put into everything is astonishing. It just looks so realistic. I’m really amazed. Your space is going to look so incredible once it’s all setup- I’ll definitely be adding it to a vacation destination someday!
Really enjoy these updates. This layout is looking really good. I did have a suggestion in the last video, but I was late and assumed it got lost in the plethora of comments. I would really love to see some abandoned railroad infrastructure like you do in real life. For example an old spur with vegetation growing up through the sleepers. Maybe even have the mainline updated with the points removed to permanently seal off the spur. And maybe the foundation and other remanence of the old goods platform adjacent to it.
Seeing the big open "field" of the new modules made me want to see a dirt bike path/hiking trail. Love these updates! Hope to be able to visit the museum some day.
Ive seen other people mention more color in the vegetation, in nature youd find flowers every so often or small rocks and whatnot. A sparse touch of those things would add so much to those fields of green. Either way its an incredible feat what youve accomplished, great job!
@Dailed You have to think about the space that he has, because, as he mentioned, he has a limited amount of space, and a wind farm would take up quite a lot of space.
Your city is amazing! I love the historic part and seeing it be expanded is increadible. If you would allow me a suggestion, the old city is currently very flat. Old town folk did not have the terraforming tools we have today and theis homes tend to accompany the slopes of the terrain. I think it would enhance your design to put at least the church on a hill, so it sits on a privileged position as it was costume on old days. Just an suggestion thought, can't wait for your next update.
A water tower could be a nice bit of man made structure that could be off in nature to add variety, especially to an area that doesn't have much height.
I love these videos so much! I wish I could come out to the museum one day, I would absolutely love to see this in person! If you have an area with giant skyscrapers, it could be cool to see a freeway cutting through the grid!
A truly great achievement, Herr Brickmann. Your traditional village is very pleasing, aesthetically, and I love your little houses in the main city. Grossartig!
I think the main road needs a quaint little bicycle path or walking path if you want to connect your pedestrianized half timbered section with the main city. Seems like they'd need a car now.
Can't wait to see what else you are going to do with all this free space! I personally think you should build the platform inbetween the train tracks, and maybe add a small bridge or a tunnel (as for metro stations) connecting the platforms. Also, don't you need bars to prevent cars crashing against the train? Railroad crossing signs are fine, but bars are also required (never seen railroad crossing without them) Keep it up!
maybe a broke down car with tow truck? Also be cool to see a school/park! Endless options, but I think a park would be sweet. Lego had a park set in the past was sweet!
the best brickbuilder on youtube and i love what you have done, but you should add a second platform in between or on the other side the railways and add a pedestrian walkway going above the railway and connecting to the second platform.
What an incredible Lego experience. I think that river would benefit greatly from having a gold paner or prospector. Perhaps with a small camp nearby. ❤❤❤🇨🇦
The railroad is coming along really nicely I like how it connects the city to the country and then eventually to the airport it will be so cool. I also like seeing all of the vegetation and forest's starting to come back.
A very strange thing, but Disneyland does it and I think you might find it interesting for your city as well. Try setting up "candle warmers" (it's a hot plate basically) with a smart plug that uses motion or different times as schedule and using candles that have smells of certain environmants. There are candles that smell like forest, candles that smell like moisture, like ocean, etc... I think you can hide thees around and make each area of the city smell slightly differently might be a great way to immerse people into the environment.
in that little middle space off that extra leg, if your layout includes any freight trains, you could create a small depot, business, or any industry that can spot a car or 2 that occasionally switches out just for that extra touch, and something simple. Could be as simple as a loading dock and freight shed for locals businesses to ship and receive goods.
i love the ideas. i also have i suggestion. Maby on the right side of the hole city so after the big train tunnel, you can make a mountain with a ski resort. That would be very cool. Love your videos keep it up💪
Loving the new layout. Now it looks like another town 20 min away from the city. You are an amazing builder. I’m always excited when I open UA-cam and see a new video upload!! Keep it up
I recommend with that massive loop of train track you add like a bridge so you can have a longer thing of track and also make it look cool, hopefully I’m making sense
I think the train tracks laying across the bump on your road is perfectly realistic. Perhaps not as satisfying as having the tracks flush to the road, but like you said, you had to work with what you have. There's several train crossings just like that one in my hometown, with the tracks atop a little bump I the road.
I understand why this wouldn’t be a priority, but I feel like something to hide the support beams and empty space under the mountain would be nice. Maybe even add a little mini cave system down there. As for the empty space, something a little spooky could be neat, like a graveyard, or a mysterious old shack.
I think these are behind the mountain next to the wall - the train just runs behind there to complete the track, with a gap so he can get around to build. It's not somewhere the public would go.
@@airedale1913 I mean, I get that, but it's still a bit of an eye sore whenever he goes back there. Plus caves could be used for some cool little scenes and set pieces you don't see in lego cities often.
I would love to see a trestle bridge over a river in the forest or something. You could include different vegetation and animals and even add some rapids or small waterfalls!
He is one of the most talented builders I have ever seen! I’ll be sticking around for more updates on this city for sure.
It's not just the talent I'd say, but the creativity. So many great ideas that come together.
I know right, I may need to renew my passport.
I agree
And he has ALOT of patience! I wouldnt be able to cope with the amount of times i would mess up 😅
Brickworld is also very talented 😀
I love your vegetation, but I'd recommend adding more color. Maybe a flower field would be nice.
He should add that stuff
Yes but all that green makes it also realistic
@@smcbschool93983 How so? Real life has more than green plants lol
the flower fields in the Netherlands are really pretty! And some farmlands with wind mills could help too!

This could be fixed by upscaling the trees and potentially tweaking parts of the mountain. It would also allow for the construction of a lookout tower or castle on the mountain, which would look cool, especially with the proximity to the rural area
on the other hand, you could also downscale them, to give a sense of them being much further away
I think the mountain at its current size creates a forced perspective effect, making it look much farther away which is pretty pretty cool

Oohh, I love the carnival/festival idea! Maybe not just there, but definitely somewhere in the city or town. Tents would be awesome too!
I would love to see you try to slope the road up to the tracks. That might help make it look more natural than the big slope pieces you have on it now.
This is also what I was thinking. Instead of lowering the traintracks you can add a very gentle slope to the road.
Totally agree. What he did was a lazy solution in my opinion.
that wouldn't be unrealistic
I said the same thing! Plus he could add a drainage culvert running along the road or something, using the slope of the road to make it look natural. Incorporating those details and small elevation changes can also help break up the "flatland" look lego often gets.

In the UK they're called a level crossing. Great work as ever. Thanks for sharing.
Just to put my geek hat on, Network Rail refers to the lights and signs just as "Warning lights". Level crossing includes the Warning lights, Barriers, and Road markings.
In the US, the specific term for the angled sign is a "crossbuck".
Canada it’s a “grade crossing” and “crossing signals” or “crossing warning system”

It's not repetitive. Watching you place all the bricks for the support structure is so satisfying.

In the United States, it’s officially called an R15-1 sign. But colloquially, it’s a “Railroad Crossing” sign or a “Crossbuck.”
