There should definitely be a train station in the empty area next to the terminal. It would be a functional way to get from the city to the airport, and would also help make the terminal building look bigger.
If you are worried about cohesion with the rest of the set for the pine trees, you can use a blend of both. Pine forests are often made up of multiple types of trees that look different from each other.
2:11 TBH I'd expect to see more moss, dirt, and rocks underneath those trees rather than grass and shrubs. Conifers basically poison the soil around themselves in a way that kills off competitors that aren't specifically adapted to them; and they don't create very much topsoil either, since they don't shed their leaves the way deciduous forests do -- so the forest floor under a coniferous forest is actually a lot different from the floor under a deciduous forest.
As a plane pilot i really like your airport, but you can add more diversity on the grass with some "mole hole" which is pretty common on airport area! Thanks for your vids ❤
If you are going to add a fire department to the airport, an idea could be have something on fire, with airport security and a firetruck at the scene. Could be a distraction for the smugglers to escape!
While it's not purely a lego piece, I'd recommend putting a mirror along the back of the airport terminal to help it look bigger and suggest that the world continutes off the edge of the table.
It is indeed legal, but not because tiles are thinner. Instead it is because tiles don’t have studs on them. Plates inserted into other plates this way would be an illegal technique, because the LEGO logo on the vertical studs would bump into the LEGO logo on the horizontal studs, creating just enough pressure to put stress on the material. With tiles you do not have this issue.
@@flipB74 I've heard several references to "legal" and "illegal" building techniques, could you please explain? Or maybe you know of a PDF somewhere that explains it? I'm madly curious as to what it means.
@@LocahaskatexuIllegal building techniques are ways of building with lego that put stress on the pieces, which might make them break after a while, and that is caused by a connection that wasn't meant by the lego group. Even tho some pieces attach together in a way it doesn't mean they were meant to be attached together that way. I'm sorry if my english isn't great, it's not my mother language
I know most people say that, but if you add tiles along a longer distance you can still clearly see the plate bend, I think although it's 'more' illegal to to the technique with plates, I still believe it's illegal with tiles :)
Suggestion: I think it would be really neat if you integrated some of the trees using the old building techniques into the forest with the new building techniques and vise versa, have them kinda scattered about existing less the further from the home colony they are, this would add a great continuity making it look like 2 different species in the same region!
Excellent video as always! Every airport has a car park full of cars. Otherwise an underground subway station under the airport with escalators up to the terminal would be awesome!
All that extra space to the left side of the airfield, by the weather instrumentation system, would be ideal for a car park or even a hotel or pub! Maybe a viewing area too.
As an avgeek, I love all of the little details within the airport. Seeing the glideslop antenas and PAPIs were cool. Maybe a VOR and localiser next? Also at 6:50 I don't *think* that is illegal because you are using tiles instead of using plates with studs on them.
Maybe for variety, not all the new trees need the green top? It would maybe look nice if a few didn’t have it, for variety. Anyway great work once again!
I feel like where you added the forest behind the airport could have a little more topography, just little hills and dips just to make it a little less repetitive. Great work 👍
Forest ideas... Have an area that's been "clear felled", with just some tree-stumps and piles of brush. Then add some stacks of logs next to a nearby road/railway, so that they're ready to be shipped off to the sawmill. For an extra bonus/challenge, you could build a mechanical timber harvester! Or else just have some lumberjacks - maybe even have one or two bunking-off to gold pan a nearby stream (which seams to be a common past-time for lumberjacks).
it all looks so great, i love watching the development of the build, i think you might need a small car park near the entrance of the airport for the visitors but other than that and a train station i think it's coming along great
The wind sock should be a bit closer to the terminal, as it's primary purpose is for pilots to look at. Other than that, fantastic build! I love all the airport additions. Perhaps a train station could work well there, quite realistic. A road and some parking (perhaps imply underground parking) are also necessary.
9:36 It feels a bit unrealistic when you placed trees in the way of the plane landing. You should add approach lighting system. Approach lighting system are red-white poles with lights a the beginning or end of a runway. Have a nice day 😊
Instead of climbing the fence you should have a tunnel under the fence for the mafia. Also you should add some colored stripes to the Cessnas for a little variety
YESSS THE AIRPORRT! great video btw! i think u should add an airport fire truck. LEGO made some themselves some years back. maybe use that as insporation?
Amazing mate, really realistic. The only thing I feel could do with a spruce up is the jet aircraft. The lego plane nose is not great. Other youtubers create custom aircraft which are lots more realistic, and I feel these could really help the moc 👍
You can make a tunnel under the ground that leads to the parking space. And if you would do this you can place the parkins space on the left site of the airport
what might help in "busy-ing up" the airport is perhaps adding space for emergency services, such as lifeliner landing pad, crashtenders/firebrigade etc. Beyond that it looks absolutely stunning!
@@The_FLASH_COC ooo that is cool idea, imagine train go to underground tunel (cut hole in tables) and then on edge of table you have metro station (maybe behaind glass) something similar to prisoncell in castle that he make,

Hello! An amazing work done here, as an aviation lover I absolutely love the little details (meteorologic station, PAPIs, etc...). And I had a little idea that I wanted to share if you feel like adding it : on the edge of the runway, you could add a restrictif zone with a hangar (or two if you want to push the realism really far) with a fighter jet for quick reaction alert (QRA), it's something quite common in NATO country to ensure the safety of the airspace.
This build is looking phenomenal. I think either a train terminal or some sort of parking structure with a skybridge that spans from the structure to the airport would really complete the overall look of the airport.
Looking good but couple corrections need to be made. Wind sock should be closer to the runway, as if you are landing you want to be looking down the runway and windsock are usually placed right next to the runway to give wind information to pilots as they are on short final to land Since you added a glide slope you also need to add the Localizer antennas to the end of the departure end. The glide slope give you vertical pathing but the the localizer give horizontal information. Together those two components form what is called an Instrument Landing System (ILS). You may also want to extend the lighting further back to add the pulsating lead in lights, but that could be omitted due to space constraints. Lastly, the tower should be in the fence area as it is something that has to be inside the secure area of an airport.
For the barbed wire, there's actually a bar-with-spikes peice that was used for the prison walls in Lego set 60419, if you ever wanna change that up! 😀

The Airport looks so much better with the new lighting and the parking area filled out. Should you ever feel the need for even more space filler, I suppose a maintenance Hanger wouldn’t be too bad although you’d have to rearrange some of the stuff beyond the Cessna lot to fit it. While I understand your frustration with vegetation, I do want to mention that all the forestry around your city is a great part of what makes it so unique! Most other LEGO cities are incredibly grey and only depict downtown, heavily urban areas. These rural landscapes are very interesting and fun to look at!
Love the barbed wire! One idea: love the mower. Perhaps you could place it somewhere, with a trail of round 1x1’s in a bit darker shade behind it as if it where mowed grass left behind. Amazing progress. Not sure if there would be enough space but it would make a nice edition to add a small fire station for the airport as it’s a major part of the facility.
Hey man, if you want a crazy level of realism, you could shift the lowest glide path antenna a little bit to the left (away from the rwy) and the top one a litte to the right. And the line for the parking space for stairs etc. should be red, but also with a dotted white line (- - - - -) on the inside of the parking space to indicate, that this parking space is for ground handling vehicles with a maximum allowed parking time of 25min.
