The patience shown by Alex when going for the finish was the kind of thing we only see at the top level. DJ and JBJ are the only two others I can think of that maintain such composure in the fire. 4th round of the main event made the whole cursed card worth it. No respect for the leaning against the fence gameplan everyone uses on Aldo "but he won" not in the eyes of anyone that actually watched. Thats a numerical win and moral loss for Bautista.

Usman is right. Magomed is NOT a wrestler who fell in love with his striking. He's from Dagestan's main kickboxing gym. He only trains with his head coach Sukhrab Magomedov (striking) and Xtreme couture in America. He grew up kickboxing. Even in Akhmat FC amateur days he was ALWAYS a striker. Even in "combat" sambo (completely different from *traditional sambo), he was winning with striking. All his finishes are kos or knockdowns to ground n pound. Zero submissions, in fact he's lost twice in his career to submissions. He has a very good chance of beating Pereira because of his head movement, shot placement and distance management. Could he take him down? Yes. But he probably won't because he won't want to gas out in the later rounds from wrestling. He has the best chance of any LHW of beating him on the feet.
Question, is Henry high? Don’t think it’s a good idea for Henry to fight Aldo, especially with that takedown defense…

DDP wasn't even ranked at that time. Now at light heavyweight, the best wrestler is Ankaleav. But Ank isn't even a pure wrestler. He's a striker first who just uses wrestling as a plan B.
