Thank you Ariel for the DC interview. Hes been my favorite fighter since WEC. Hes had a very long road. Injuries and TKOs'. Hes still as articulate and very knowledgeable about MMA. His thoughts are always warranted. 🙏
Love how humble and aware aljo is. Realizes he may lose in the fall, 145 may not work out, could lose and be back at square 1. GOAT idc what people say, numbers don’t lie
@@mosval8985 some of us don't need externals to reflect and analyze ourselves. Some us us are actually quality humans striving to be better, no drugs needed.
Dom is the best analyst employed by the ufc. His thoughts on Aljo’s fight iq are so good. Aljos strategy to drop down on all 4s is genius. And Dom is right on the money with how smart it actually is. In the ONE rules it would be madness. Same in a ”real” fight. But in these rules its so smart. Rogan saying ”he is hanging on his neck” like it was some kind of a damage inflicting move from Henry was so wierd to me in the fight.
I've been a Aljo fan for a long time. I think he's 100% right. When he's retired people are going to realize how good he really was. I think the UFC will miss him as a Champion. He will always be a Champion but I think they'll realize how great of a Champion he is and how easy he makes their job from a promotional standpoint. Aljo is a company guy by default. He got his success out of the mud and earned respect based on good morals and ethics. I don't think he gets that same respect from the promotion. Hey Aljo, Thank you for beating Doubled C!
Totally agree, Aljo may sound a little cringe at times but his resume is outstanding in what is an incredible division. I wish he would stop asking for recognition though. He just beat triple C and I'm not sure many others would in bantamweight
00:01:11 We kick off the show by reacting to all angles of UFC 288. 00:37:00 Sean O’Malley returns to chat about Aljamain Sterling’s win over Henry Cejudo, his in-cage faceoff with Sterling, their upcoming fight, and much more. 01:07:07 Former UFC champion Dominick Cruz discusses the state of his bantamweight division, the fallout from UFC 288, and more. 01:33:13 MMA legend and ONE flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson stops by to talk about his trilogy win over Adriano Moraes, what’s next, and more. 02:04:15 Yan Xiaonan reflects on her massive knockout win over Jessica Andrade at UFC 288 and looks ahead to whether a title fight against Weili Zhang is next. 02:19:45 Matt Frevola looks back on his scintillating win over Drew Dober at UFC 288. 02:36:57 Bantamweight king Aljamain Sterling returns following his successful UFC 288 title defense over Henry Cejudo. 03:14:19 GC and the Parlay Pals review our best bets from the UFC 288 weekend.
Sterling is a stud, has defeated a bunch of elite athletes including a goat in lighter divisions like Triple C but, no matter what, people don't like him. He said a huge true that's kinda sad and disappointing: once he's gone people will start appreciating what he's done and see he was a special fighter, not just a champ with a couple of defenses. It's gonna be like Mighty Mouse: people bashed him, talked sh....and made jokes, but the same hypocrite guys are now "Dana didn't give him respect " and "they shouldn't have changed him for Askren". I'm a Henry fan, think he won last Saturday and I'm still a bit disappointed with the split decision loss, but I'm not blind and I do respect and realize Aljo is something else.
Dominic Cruz might be under-utilised in MMA. Very much enjoyed his self analysis of winning and losing - I could very much relate in other aspects of life to those psychological trappings and mindsets.
Relegation is a huge deal, especially from a financial point of view . Every Premiership (1st tier) club gets at least 120M $ from TV rights, Championship clubs (2nd tier) get around 9M $ each. Not including sponsorship deals, which are a lot higher in the Premiership. Also, attracting good players is so much easier when you play in the 1st tier.
Everyone is buggin out with these main event score cards. It was easy to score with the exception of round 2. Sterling DEF won 1,3,4. Henry DEF won 5 and edged 2. All three judges giving Henry Rd 3 was crazy and so was Cleary givin Aljo 5
well its kinda hard to talk about a fight that wasn't very good, didn't end up meaning anything for the division. and with two fighters who refuse to talk to ariel. what was he going to talk about?
I think I'm on an island here but Dom was freaking me out. It's way too early for me to be taking an introspective look at myself. Like damn Dom I hear brother but should've had my coffee first.
Henry came back after 3 years and arguably beat the best champion the division has ever seen…. What are we talking about here… His next fight he’s dominating. It would have been better for everyone if Henry won, because now that he lost, he can zero in on mistakes. If he doesn’t retire, he’s here.
I love Sean, and I would love to see him as champion, and one day no doubt will be. Aljo is tough for him, I think he knows that and that’s why he passed it up to let Henry try first. He was confident to beat Henry but not Aljo, and Uncle Chael will tell you, both guys know who will win when they enter the cage. Aljo knows he will win, Sean clearly thought he’d have a better chance against Henry 🤔
Yeah no kidding most the people at the arena said Henry won. Dad you hear them booing aljo n cheering Henry? Most people who say Henry won wanted Henry to win. Including Sean cause he wanted to fight Henry he thought it would be easier fight. This isn’t rocket science.
I hope Sean becomes A Champion He will be a better Champion The guy has everything to be a Role Model Lets Go Sean !!! Shotout from Brownsville Texas to all the world !! 🌎
