I've been considering these lights, but couldn't find a decent review that covered more than unboxing, menus, and auto mode. Your walk-thru of each change with coresponding action views is exactly what I was looking for. Thus, I am subscribing to your channel hoping for more reviews like this that are actually useful!
Appreciate those kind words and thanks for the sub!
So dang brilliant, yet simple! Love your content, wish there was more ❤️
Really appreciate those kind words of support!
Thank you for the video! Very informative and persuasive!
Thanks for the kind words and appreciate you watching!
you're the best youtuber, been watching you for like 2-3 years
Thanks so much for those kind words and really appreciate you watching!
Great tutorial steve .
Appreciate you watching this one!
Thanks for the detailed overview, these lights look really versatile! I love your videos and how much you go over without any fluff, as well. Thank you!
Something I'm wondering about is the White channel on these RGBW lights (And all others, as well). Are those suitable for illuminating skin tones in a natural way, or will the colour look missing?
I am looking at lighting a stage setup of people, and I am trying to see if I can use these zoom washes instead of standard Lekos for general front lighting.
Thanks for those kind words! I'm not sure what the color temp and consistency of these white LED's are, so it may not be a good substitute for more conventional theatrical stage lighting.- I'd be very interested to hear if you get a chance to try them.
Very helpful!!¡!!!!!!!! Thanks I subscribed
Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching and subscribing!
Great video
My local theatre uses two of these.
I don’t recommend putting them on top of your speakers.
You might want to invest in some cheap totems.
Hi- I appreciate that advice and totally agree with you. A set of totems is on my shopping list! Thanks for watching
Awesome video as always, Steve. How many of these fixtures do you think would be a good idea for most smaller stages (if that's a fair question)?
Hey Jeff! These things are really bright and two can light up a small stage (bar or intimate venue) amazingly well. They're fairly large for lugging around, but so far I'm really happy with them. Appreciate you watching this one :)
I think you should have 4 on the ground and 4 big gobo hanging and at 12 par lights in the back
Great video as I'm looking for a DMX light that can zoom in. Any suggestions for making it waterproof via a Canopy / Bubble versus buying one that is rated for outdoor use?
if you end up finding a solution or a waterproof one please let me n know, i’m in the same boat
Well will you hang them up on a truss or put them on the floor
Because then i could help you more
Please more videos on the mini gobo moving head thanks
OK- that's a good idea. Those are great little lights and I'd like to do another video on them. Appreciate you watching!
@@LearnLizard You should try to compare it to a similar name brand fixture like a Pocket Pro
@@croissantproductions I'd love to get a few ADJ Pocket Pros- would make a good video!
@@LearnLizard They’re very good lights!
Hi Steve. I like the way you do your présentations. Just à détail.. thèse Fixture seams noisy because of the fans ... are'nt they? For theater stage use, do you recommand it or have you a better fixture ?
Hi, and thanks for the kind words! The fans on these lights are actually pretty quiet compared to some of my other fixtures (I think the microphone maybe exaggerates the sound) However if you need to have a silent light you can get PARS like these: amzn.to/2Mgmpvl
They stay cool with heat sink cases and no fans. Appreciate you watching!
The fans are pretty noisy to me, at least on my unit. I don’t recommend it for quiet environments.
Nice video. Thank for sharing. Can you share bee eye k10 model moving head
Appreciate the kind words! Here is a video on Shehds 19x20w Bees Eye. ua-cam.com/video/M6HKSWaw_MI/v-deo.html

Do you need to buy a DMX wifi adapter to use that Ipad App? Or can you connect to the SheHDS using just the ipad wifi? If it's using wifi - can you control both lights at the same time? Usually wifi you can only control / connect to one network at a time.
Curious how you control multiples of these lights using just an iPad - not a lot of details on wifi control on the website
To use the iPad app you need a router and a DMX-to-Ethernet adapter. Luckily, you can control 512 channels of DMX (lots of lights!) with just a simple setup. Here's a video that explains how:

@@LearnLizard thank you!
Do you know the CRI of these lights? Curious about using these for video recording given the high brightness and moving features.
Hi Steve.
Enjoy your videos. Some questions about these Shehds lights:
How are they holding up to use? Have you had them out much?
How is the color constancy from one fixture to another? (One complaint I've heard about China made lights, is that the colors are not always consistent.)
Do these lights come with a profile (listing of what each channel does)?
Thanks for any additional info.

Hi and thanks for the kind words-
As a casual musician, I've been happy with my Shehds lights but I can't speak for how they would hold up under more professional rigorous settings. I have a pair of both their 160W 3IN1's and 19x15w beam wash and haven't noticed any color inconsistencies. Each light has a listing of the channel functions in the manual, although I have found a few inconsistencies in the stated and actual functions. For me personally they are a great value and suit my needs.
@@LearnLizard - Thank you for the info. Been researching Shehds Lights all day. About to pull the plug on some. See how they stack up to the bigger name brands that I own.
@@joelglaser5657 The biggest consistency problem is when you buy some lights now and then buy more in the future. There’s a good chance that the lights you buy in the future are gonna be different.
@@croissantproductions - I've heard that before. I guess we'll see.
Hi Steve , I am just getting in business of stage lighting , and my dilemma has been what’s the best brand and equipment I should start with , is shehds the right brand?
I have a few different Shehds fixtures and I have been happy with them. They offer a lot of features for a really good price (IMHO) I only have used them for casual shows so I can't say how they would hold up for daily professional use-
Appreciate you watching!
I would recommend chauvet, acme or adj. Cheap Chinese lights don't last long and are generally poor quality. Shehds also has some pretty bad customer service, I brought something that didn't work properly and they stopped replying to me. $200 wasted.
I have looked all over the net and can't find anywhere that states the "Color Temp" of the white light. I'm looking for an "INDOOR" color temp (1,000k to 4,000k) Do you know what these are?
Hi- these LED's are all RGBW so each can be mixed to a variety of colors. When they are set to pure white it is a very cool (almost bluish) temp. I wish I knew the exact "K" but I'm not used to seeing RGBW LED's having their Color Temp called out.
Hello.
Does the light feature a memory which rememberd last dmx channels once its unplugged from dmx cable? (Like let's say you're using a dimmer + white color and you unplug your dmx cable. Will it stay like that?)
Thank you.
The controller will remember the fixture assignments and scenes and chases after powering down and back up. The light will remember its DMX starting address and which DMX mode it was set in, so between the the controller and the light, nothing needs to be reprogrammed. Appreciate you watching!
Awesome! How much do they cost per piece?
Hi- You can get them here for $239 US with free shipping: www.shehds.com/products/led-moving-head-19x15w-rgbw-wash-zoom-stage-lights-professional-dj-bar-led-stage-machine-dmx512-led-zoom-beam?DIST=RUdBGw%3D%3D

Funziona l'applicazione da remoto?
Hello
Please do you have idea on how I can use my android freestyler app? Or do have any android app u can recommend for me?
Hi- I believe Freestyler needs a Window's PC to control a lighting rig. I think that Android app is a remote control for the software on the PC.
There is an Android controller app called "DMX Controller" that requires a hardware device that costs around $50. I haven't tried it but it looks interesting. Thanks for watching!

Ca you please do the poker pro I have to know it it good
Hi- Do you mean the ADJ Pocket Pro? I would love to do a video on that light if only I had one :)
Yes
I have two of them. I can say they are some of the best mini moving heads available. Great quality, output, movements, and a good price too.
👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Do they have a totem mode?
Unfortunately no- you would need to program that into your controller. Appreciate you watching....
how much this light? ship it to Cancun
Right now its $239 with free shipping to the US. If you go to this link you can check the price to Cancun:

are these master/slave DMX capable?
Yes- They can be run in DMX, Auto Run, Sound Active, and Master/Slave modes. Appreciate you watching!
DOES IT HAVE MASTER SLAVE?
It says it does in the website description, but I couldn't find it in the menu functions or in the manual. Maybe I'm just missing something...

Thanks for watching!
Amazing vid i would love a light like that but im only 14 and can’t afford that 😭
Thanks! This is a great light but of course there are ones that cost less if you are just getting started. Good luck and appreciate you watching 🙂
It's still a wash. Just because it zooms into 0 degrees doesn't mean it's a beam also
When zoomed in, it has a pretty decent beam that cuts through haze really well. Many wash fixtures can be used as a beam effect.
These are not beams. When a beam light hits the wall or ceiling, it shows a circle with a sharp edge
These do not do that, the edgs is fuzzy and wide.
And they don't cut a sharp beam through haze , they light the cloud. It's useful, but different
It absolutely ->IS
Thanks for the comment. Certainly dedicated beam lights produce a sharper and narrower beam. Considering the price point I've been very happy with the "beams" on these and they look pretty well defined with the hazer as the video shows.
@@LearnLizard fwiw, I bought this exact light, so I do speak from valid real world experience on it.
Shedhs lists this light as zooming from 8 degrees to 55 degrees. That is inaccurate.
example, a Chauvet 255 is a 15 degree beam and it's beam is MUCH tighter
I'd guess the Shedhs is more like 20 or 25 zoomed in and 90 zoomed out.
There is no way it's an 8 degree spread when zoomed in
That said, It IS a good light. But it's a wash.
If you buy it to use as a beam, you will be disappointed.
If you buy it to use as a wash, you'll like it.
My biggest issue with shedhs isn't the lights, I have a LOT of Shedhs lights. It's the inaccuracies on their website
When you buy a light and your only real source of information is the website, the website needs to be accurate. Theirs is often wrong.
