      @LearnLizard  Рік тому

      Hey Jeff! I use a regular Apple camera connection kit to go from a USB MIDI controller to the iPad's lightning input, then set Vibrio to "learn" each scene or sequence. It works well as long as you only use one controller. (I've had Vibrio get confused when there are multiple MIDI sources on a hub)

    LL- Thank you for your thoughtful content. Question: Neither in your presentation, nor at the website via the link is there any mention of Master/Slave. Is that possible with this unit? You were running 2 in your demo. Many Thanks. Best from CA US

    • @LearnLizard

      HI- This particular light doesn't have a specific master/slave function built into its menu system. For the demo I had each one set to its own separate DMX starting address, and programmed each of the scenes individually.

    Hi, can you or any subscribers offer advice on what product to use for the following:
    LED (not bulb) projector for projecting a custom nightclub logo/gobo on to an external wall. Has to have the ability to scan around onto floor and wall and possibly rotate and prism. Needs to be bright as although used at night there is ambient street lighting and the wall is red brick and the floor is black tarmac at a distance of 10m.
    Was thinking a moving head with a gobo that can be replaced as all the "gobo projectors" seem to be static.
    This used to be done with a huge old Martin scanner with a glass etched gobo that took a discharge lamp which was expensive, regularly needed replacing and difficult to access (hence LED).
    Any ideas would be great.
    Cheers 👍
    Ant

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  Рік тому

      I'm guessing you would need a moving head gobo fixture with a custom gobo. This video is from 2014, but it shows how to add a custom gobo to a mover: ua-cam.com/video/Y_b1P7HL4WM/v-deo.html
      Good luck with your project and thanks for watching!

  • @croissantproductions
    @croissantproductions Рік тому

    Hey Steve, are you having any problems with Vibrio? I’m having an issue where the edit buttons for the scenes in a sequence aren’t working properly. Sometimes they work, but sometimes they won’t. I’m using an iPad Air 5th Generation. I emailed Vibrio but I never got a response.

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  Рік тому

      It seems Vibrio's developers have basically stopped supporting it. I haven't encountered the issue you are mentioning but I have noticed it is buggy when it comes to MIDI control which is critical for my needs. I've started using an app called StageLight that has many advantages (and it very reasonably priced) Videos to come on it before too long!

    Hello quick question how much of a difference between this one and the 7r I know the 7r is brighter but is it by much? Thanks in advance

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  Рік тому

      Actually they are quite different. The 230W 7R is a lot brighter (and a lot bigger and heavier) It uses an incandescent lamp (7R Osram) compared to an LED lamp on the 160W 3in1. It gets hotter and is an older style design. I actually prefer my 160W for most situations. Here's a video on the 230W 7R if you are interested: ua-cam.com/video/eumgprIQS4E/v-deo.html

    Hi, I'm really struggling to link my moving head light to my dmx controller please can I have some ideas

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  Рік тому

      It's hard to know how to help without more details but here would be my first steps for troubleshooting:
      1) Make sure you have the DMX out jack of the controller connected to the DMX jack on the mover with a DMX cable
      2) Make sure the light is in DMX mode and set to a starting address of 1 and you have the controller set to control the fixture with that address (usually Fixture 1)
      3) Check the polarity switch on the controller (if it has one) Sometimes that solves the problem)
      4) Try a system reset on the light and the controller.
      Hope that helps and good luck getting up and running!

    I need a light that does beam n wash look and allows you to make light stationary when needed and I need the light to make a nice circle on the floor for actor to stand in middle of circle album cant have light really far away to create this look need to be able to have it at least 5-10
    Feet from actor and do I need a DMx15 controller? And this DMx cable looks short- what do you do when you need to be at least 10 feet or more behind camera filming actor with this short DMx cable?

    • @LearnLizard
      @LearnLizard  Рік тому

      If you are on a budget, this light might work for you: ua-cam.com/video/nU2w0PVcKqE/v-deo.html
      You can control the size of the beam depending on what distance you are from the stage. You can adjust most of the parameters from the menu screen but it is MUCH simpler with a DMX controller. (even a basic one) As far as DMX cables, they are sold in many different lengths so you just need to get on that is long enough for your needs. Appreciate you watching.
