I have the Meta Quest Pro and I am trying to figure out if I should use immersed V spatial or work rooms I want to use the best one for my students so that they have the best experience in the most fun while learning also I need software that won’t be laggy and glitch due to the high cpu and ram that is used for day trading
Discovered Immersed and Meta Quest 3 combo two weeks ago for writing. Loving the productivity, averaging 3.5 hrs / day and getting the equivalent of 5 hrs / day work done. But at the cost of some eye- and headache. The productivity gains overweigh the tradeoffs. It's also likely in the coming weeks will get used to wearing headset. For writing using three virtual screens, two huge vertical screens (center and right) that display up to two pages of Word documents I'm working on and a horizonatal screen on the left (where I have Safari, Mail, Spotify, dictionary apps, etc.,). The 360 photo immersive environments work well, less problems with latency, and can position screens without having them getting covered by virtual furniture (this happens in some of their "rooms" e.g. Lakeview Lodge).
Loved it! Also a fan of Immersed. I am able to work 40 to 50 hrs per week with my Quest Pro and using Immersed. You will see me a lot in the cafe public room as early as 8am EST. Haha.
I didn’t think that people were doing this, actually working full time in VR?! Are you guys really doing so? Isn’t it kinda pointless, compared to just using a computer like normal?
@@orangejjay it does look like that, people are trying to force a trend to happen. And it’s so unbelievable that people are living/working in VR, for no particular reason, while it’s said to be disorienting, with motion sickness, etc. It’s also absurd to be in VR and basically just using a VR version of a normal computer set-up, lol.
Wicked cool to be able to conjure up an additional virtual monitor to become more productive. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to additional productivity videos in VR.
They implemented the keyboard interaction EXACTLY as I described it 2 years ago. I'm so glad they went with both of the implementations. Both using portals, and using smart tracking keyboards. This works on Linux too! YAS!
Hands down one of the best clips I’ve seen in a long time Respectful with my time, effectively communicating the relevant points Ending with pros and cons. I seldom “like” and subscribe even less. Just done both. If I ever create content, this will be my yardstick
Yes we would like to see more I’m a professor and would love to use this for teaching can you make a video showing what it would look like teaching on a white board and on a computer screen
Sure, I can look at putting something like that together. If you have a Meta headset then the next video in this series, coming out tomorrow morning, may be better suited for that use. It's on Meta Horizons Workrooms and that may be exactly what you're looking for.
Thanks! I really think this is a fantastic option for something like a startup or people collaborating on projects. Really gives the sense of presence.
Any battery saving tips when you're working in immersed? I'm noticing that even with a battery plugged in, it's getting drained pretty quick. I know using 4 screens takes more power but i expected the battery bank to help prolong it.
I love immersed, but at the current date (2024-09-30) we are having a loot of problems to connect to the app, to the remote desktop, etc... Is probably because they are right now preparing to launch they own headset... but is a problem to us that are trying to use it to work.
Beautiful video but I have a question, using this app, can I make sure that the audio does not come out of the meta quest 2 but comes out of the headphones / studio speakers of the external sound card connected to the pc? I'm a music producer I ABSOLUTELY can't listen to the audio that passes from the Quest. Thanks in advance
you can set the screens to be curved or arc around but remain flat - you click the button that allows you to adjust and it toggles the behaviour between it.
Thank for sharing! btw, would you know any way to download the previous versions of immersed for mac osx? only latest download is available at website & i am running 10.15.7...
Big con is that you really can only use this when you are by your self. There is no ability to show someone the screen when they walk up to you as happens all the time in the office or working with someone. So, working together only works when the two of you are using Immersed.
If you're working on a virtual screen that's true but, unless you're working on a headless system, if you want to show something to someone you just need to move it to the physical display.
It's nice, but all the data ends up in the USA and that's why it's only really usable there. If you could choose where the data is stored or exchanged, then it would be really interesting, so there are too many legal concerns.
Please can someone answer this question cause im not finding anything on this subject: Does the keyboard need to be connected to the pc and it will be tracked normally or do i have to connected to the quest 2 bluetooth? Cause when im connecting to quest 2 bluetooth key strokes are not forewarding to my pc in immersed
@@Wolf0103 is ther anyway to forward the input from quest 2 to pc if i want to connect the keyboard to my quest 2? Im asking this because i want to work on my pc far away from it so the keyboard cant be connected to my pc and only the quest 2
@@POKLESS so tried this out now : ua-cam.com/video/prjTC0EL_Ag/v-deo.html. The tracked keyboard I got to work but it does not pass any input through to the pc. Maybe I have no idea what I am doing. :D I am sure though that you can extend your bluetooth signal somehow. Like with an extra dongle.
Cool video but why do you choose to work full time in VR, like this, rather than just working with a standard computer set up? It’s cool tech but it seems mostly pointless, right now, plus it looks disorienting, and probably motion sickness, so I’m not interested lol.
Are you currently using immersed or some other software to work in VR? If so what headset and software do you use?

I'm literally watching this in Immersed haha. Quest 3, gonna watch the video now! :)
