The black and white photos of Wyre Forest station at 9:35 and 9:42 were taken by my Great Grandfather Alf Rogers. He took photos and sold them as postcards from his shop in Callow Hill
So glad i stumbled across your channel, i used to be a volunteer on the SVR in the early days of preservation, i know this area well , your footage and commentary was spot on, really enjoyed it, for some reason you remind me of a young Fred Dibnah.
Thank you for your kind word really appreciate it! Yeah I get Fred Dibnah alot I'm actually going to do a Fred Dibnah Special History video what my patreons are supporting at the moment. Yeah SVR been part older end of my family for long time too so I do go lot on family holidays actually just got back from Steam Gala this weekend what be coming out on my Channel is 3 weeks time.
Wicked really enjoyed this one Thomas .....nice history loved the old bridge over the river severn...and loco action .....regards ....Frank & Lee......Lancashire Walks....
I hope you had time to properly visit the Severn Valley Railway and the towns of Bewdley and Bridgnorth (with its Leaning Tower and cliff railway). It’s a nice part of the country - I was born in Kidderminster and lived in the area until I left for Lancaster University in the 1970s. Interesting to see your videos and your take on the area but I’m wondering what prompted you to choose there to visit? Soon be 1,000 subscribers, TE!
I know area pretty well actually we stay every New Year near seven valley much as we can. And there is TE family members who are life long members of seven valley who are ex railwaymen. But I only found this line interesting because I was picking up Toilet 🤣🤣🤣 and we stayed at the woofferton end so got see line in full length. Witch do you prefer Kidderminster or Lancaster?
@@ThomasEdward I hope you continue to enjoy your trips. For me, there is no comparison between Kidderminster and Lancaster - I still likeWorcestershire, but the town of Kidderminster offers nothing to the visitor these days whereas I never tire of my (sadly infrequent) trips back to Lancaster. Oh, and I’m now wondering if you are planning a video on the new toilet you picked up - “TE, Flushed with Success on Hitting 1,000 subscribers” 🤣
Thank you Thomas, a marvellous documentary - intelligent and informative commentary, reminded me of Fred Dibnah, nice railway route, good photography and accompanying music, it had it all. You put most TV documentaries to shame. I am going to move to Bewdley soon as I can, lovely area too. BTW Where did you get the reflective incidental piano music from please?
@@ThomasEdward Yes I did watch Part 1. We stayed near Tunberry Well a month ago. From there we moved south and stayed at Hartfield which is on the Forest Row to Tunbridge Wells disused railway. An interesting line and very walkable. It was quite a busy line that was used by Beeching to get to London - and he closed it. Keep up the good work, enjoying your vids
The bewdley to wofferton line the wyre Forrest sec ganger who used to walk the line to see all is correct. I have his GWR or BR western region hand lamp . Its a fogging lamp as it has white red yellow and green aspects to it. And used to travel that line on the old GWR aec rail car. The blood and custard one . The aec rail cars were based at Worcester shed . . Mmmm good days then . The steam engines had spark arresters on them to stop the wyre Forrest setting on fire. .
9 more people! I think you're going to do it TE.🤩 Showbiz!
How do you mean 9?? Bit confused on that one I know I’m just under 50 away from 1K. Can’t wait for sound of showbiz your absolutely right 😉
