I have changed the entire way I view clothes, purchase clothes, wear my existing clothes, all the things...based on the last few weeks of binge watching these videos. I'm now rewatching them. I guess what I'm trying to say is, please make more analysis of fashion videos! I'm obsessed🤎
Even though my style is completely different, I found listening to you talk through what you liked and why helpful. I don't know if you have any experiences like this- where you put thought and research into a clothing item and then it just doesn't work. If so I'd love a video where you talk about wardrobe misses and why- I'd love that.
I adore this video! I’d be curious to hear about your process of finding these images in the first place. Also, I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to hear you talk about your style in the long term. I am overwhelmed with content about trends, and I always feel so apart from that. This sort of content gives me an alternative, more productive way to direct my energy, and I’m grateful.
Hi Hannah! I’m a relatively new follower (I found you within the past year) and I genuinely love everything your work! One thing I appreciate is how you introduce yourself in the beginning of each video and explain your mission with your channel. Doing so connected me to you in a way that “welcome back to my channel” never does when watching someone I’ve never watched before, and it feels very inclusive. Thanks for being welcoming!
Absolutely adore videos like this! Please continue to share! The only thing that could make this better is if you would grace us with a follow up video 💕 I would love to see some of your ideas for outfits you could create, based on your new Pinterest inspiration, from existing clothes i.e. the ones you referred to as you were going through and showing us the photos. And then… I would love to see an additional follow-up video, as you acquire some of these pieces that you would like to add to round out your new style, and how you implement those with your current clothes and in new outfits you create 🤍
I second this! I'd love to see a whole series beginning with the "wish", followed by "the thrift", and concluded with "the style". That would be great!
I think this is such a good way to recognise what your “fantasy self” might feel or push oneself towards unwisely, and instead take the core of why a person is drawn to something and how it might be incorporated in a practical/realistic and sustainable manner. And that bubblegum pink sweater with the watermelon pants… *chefs kiss*
I've watched so many "find your style videos" in the past and nothing has been more insightful than this. Seeing you, model what it looks like to think through WHY certain clothing speaks to you. Thank you for sharing, Hannah! I love you, your style, and your brain!!!
Also, I had missed these videos where you analyse one frequently triggering part of consumerism for many of us. The eloquence and reason you put into these videos are the main reason I fell for your channel and personality on here. Puts so many things into perspective, for clothing and fashion but also so many other trigger points.
I'm personally very into that orange sweater printed skirt situation. As a curvy woman, I am trying to play with this silhouette where I avoid an accented waist because I think that would be empowering for me. Beyond that, orange and lilac together is exciting to me.
I feel this! I am always so attracted to slouchy silhouettes, but as a curvy woman, I always feel like it's not "flattering" on my body. But I reckon it would be super empowering to throw away the mindset of clothes needing to be "flattering" or dressing to your body (i.e. making sure my waist or bust is accentuated), and dress in what I like and feel comfortable in
If you don't know it already, you should check out the brand "Universal Standard". They are catered towards curvier bodies and you'll find slouchy outfits
This was such a lovely window into how you approach fashion, I always find it so fascinating how others come upon realisations about their wardrobe and the direction of their personal style
I love the point you made about the pink sweater! I feel like I often think, like, “Oh i should get the neutral option because it’s more timeless and practical.” But that’s not necessarily true! Because then I’ll end up with a closet full of neutrals and this gal loves some color. (Particularly pink. I love wearing pink so much.)
All of these images have such huge Carla Rockmore vibes! She might be the greatest gift you have ever given us. I'm obsessed and think of you everytime she shows up in my feed! Hope you are loving your new home.
Hannah, as a normally ghost watcher, I have to say I love this idea. I too, had a huge purge/re-evaluation of my current style and have been curating my wardrobe based on quality versus quantity. I need to create a Pinterest board. Thanks for the inspiration!
Its interesting what you say about style evolution. I’ve had one main Pinterest style board for almost 8 years, and I often skim through my pins from years ago. Even though my style changed in some ways (mostly due to lifestyle circumstances and my age), I see a unique thread running through all my pins that helps me define my personal style. Now I understand which details, textures, colors, functionality will always be true to me, thus buying items I’ll love for many years to come.
Wearing one of your Baba sweaters over a long printed housedress could be a fun outfit reminiscent of some of the looks you showed. The great thing about pale pink is that it can be easily dyed once you want a different color. I hope another dress up playtime will be coming soon!
Hey Hannah! Ignore this if it isn’t helpful, but it occurred to me when you were describing what you are drawn to that you seem to be really good at intuiting your “Kibbe lines”! I’m pretty sure that you’re a Kibbe flamboyant natural, so the visual length counterbalanced by width (in the Kibbe sense of width) would be your guiding “style logic” under that system. And you seem to already know that on a certain level! :) But figured I’d throw it out there regardless in case you’re looking for more inspiration etc.
Your descriptions are always so insightful to me, and especially now as you’re describing these monochromatic/analogous palates with warm colors. The main reason I started following you was for your makeup insights as a redhead, but I’ve found your clothing ideas to be quite influential now! I’ve always had a toned down wardroom with “boring” colors like tan, brown, rust, goldenrod (all usually paired with basic black) just because my red hair already seemed so noticeable and I thought I couldn’t do fun clothing on top of that. But I’ve started pairing my colors and textures in unique ways like this and it’s starting to feel quite fun! I can suddenly see why I had all those pieces, and now I’m making the most of them! 16:17
Absolutely LOVE this video! One of my favorite of yours ever! The way you describe things is so helpful it doesn’t have to be about whether or not I want a bubblegum pink sweater but about how I can think of silhouettes that I like things that I own in places where there are gaps. I don’t know how you do it but you take information that from Manny would be too specific and create themes that anyone can apply. Brava Hannah Louise Poston!
Loved this. It really has helped me start to reframe my approach to fashion. I used to love it. I miss loving it. I’ve gained a lot of weight and feel lost now about my style, what’s flattering, what I’m comfortable in. What a great template. Thanks always for your content!
I make a new Pinterest board every month but I always, before pinning anything new, repin things from the previous months and that same month last year, which usually fills up my board to about 80 pins! I’ve found this not only curated my printerest feed, but also my personal style greatly. I find I very very rarely pin outfits with items or colors I don’t already own.
Yes this totally hit the mark and is one of my favorite of your videos this year. So relevant to me right now and I feel inspired to do this for myself. Yay!!
I’d love to create a similar board! I actually have attempted to in the past, but I find it hard to find plus size inspo on Pinterest. Maybe I’m using the wrong search words, but they always show me the set of pictures. Outfits can look beautiful on certain people, but that doesn’t mean they will look the same on me…
Thank you for sharing this video! It was really interesting to see you step into this sort of fashion criticism space as an extension of your usual work on this platform, and it was really exciting to think about taking this exercise towards my own wardrobe and sense of style!
I was so excited to see you on The Financial Diet! You looked lovely and you were very eloquent and articulate. I really enjoyed this video too and now I’m in the market for a deep vee sweater
Found you because of your appearance on tfd and couldn’t be more happy about it. I also had to face the fact that I have a shopping addiction and I do no shopping months, but I slowly am realizing that’s not enough to change my ways
Ahh! I loved the interior design video, so I’m so pleased you made this along a similar vein! 💜 I’m a relatively recent subscriber, and have been going back and catching up (gobbling up), and in a video a few months ago, you talked about mentioning quite a few products in terms of first impressions, but that you might do a more comprehensive review video of those various products once you’d had more time with them. That was in a video prior to your move, and I don’t know if it’s still in your plans, but I’d definitely love to see it! (No specific product, just in general.) (As I said, I’m in a catching up phase so please do disregard if you actually did make the video and I missed it!) I’m actually quite excited to be late in the game to following you (on the recommendation of Leena Norms, for what it’s worth ☺️), I have such a back catalogue to explore and enjoy 🥰 I’m a massive fan already!
While I haven't set one up for myself (yet), there are quite a few closet organising apps out there, where you can do stuff like: take photos of your clothes, track how often you've worn them, set up combinations or let the app suggest combos. I think that might scratch a similar itch to a pinterest board, but has even more hands on, day to day usecases for things you already have.
In regard to your comment about the silhouette of the pink outfit being different enough, that it takes away it's girly catalogue vibe: I find that I can't get that same distance. For me, the black pants and white shirt combo is too strongly reminiscent of my high school days (cause that was our uniform), that I still can't imagine wearing it of my own accord, no matter the shape and fit. Interesting
Have really enjoyed and felt spoilt with your content this week Hannah! This video nourishes me so much as someone whose weakness is style content and it also really seemed to hit the peaks of your poetic way of articulating things. It was just so lovely to here your thoughtful phrasing and vocabulary come through (as it does in all your videos). The financial diet interview was so beautiful- you and Chelsea had great rapport and chemistry and were so in sync in so many ways but also so opposing in others that it just made for a really thought provoking interview! On top of all that a Patreon video too! Thanks for all the work you continue to do! We are all so lucky to have you :)
Loved this video so much! I’ve been pinning outfit and style inspirations for years but never thought to analyze them for themes and how I could use them when building my own wardrobe. Thank you! ❤️
I have been debating taking outfit photos of my wardrobe and keeping them on a board for inspiration. Being a visual person also, it can be so hard to remember exactly what a piece looks like on me or it will turn out that I was remembering it wrong and I think this will also help me to utilise my wardrobe more, rather than the same old same old. This video has really inspired me to begin my own idea but to also use this one as well. Hopefully the two combined will help me to purchase what will fit into my wardrobe and to create amazing outfits with what I already have
My three asthetics rn are: flapper who has access to poshmark; toddlercore ala Old Enough and 70s cool guy who is constantly misgendered and gives no fucks...None of these require further shopping...For Fall I've been super obsessed with the clothes in the Netflix show, Russian Doll. The main character wears a very frilly blouse with a big wool trenchcoat and boots. It's that same mix of fussy feminine and masculine and a very tomboyish attitude from the actress that makes it all work. It reminds me of your slouchy cottage core model with the short hair and boyish pants... I've really been doing socks and sandals a lot this year because it's a bad year for mosquitos in Minnesota... I have a couple of highlighter yellow pieces that are go-tos for me. It works so well with any neutral. Both were thrifted and I bought them thinking, oh if I only wear this once it doesn't matter, but they've become favorites.
Your thought processes around how to build the concept of how you want to present yourself & feel in your body are super helpful! I'm definitely gonna be making myself a Pinterest account. For most of my life, I've just adopted clothes from other people. And when I haven't, I've felt uncertain about buying something that feels like ME, so I've just ended up w/ lots of skinny jeans & lots of basic shirts or band shirts. Lmao. I still love those items of clothing, don't get me wrong!! Buuuut... I need new clothes. And while I enjoy my aesthetic, I've wanted to get higher quality pieces & evolve my style. Now that I have a few chest binders, I'm finally feeling comfortable enough to buy button down shirts & I have wanted to wear them my whole life! So that is gonna be a focus point. But I want to see them styled down. I own one that I bought for a wedding & I loved one time when I wore it un-tucked, partly unbuttoned, & w/ the sleeves rolled up on top of skinny jeans & boots. I felt like... I was a painter who got interrupted & had to throw on a pair of jeans to run errands? It was divine. 😂🤣 Anyway, that's enough rambling! Thank you for this video & your decor video. It has given me a great deal to think about for how I want my life to look.
I recently did the same! I was always afraid to buy button down shirts although I love how they look, especially oversized, because I felt like I was too curvy to pull it off. Turns out, I adore how I look in them and it helps me feel gender euphoria as a non-binary person.
I love love love the maxi skirt paired with an oversized sweater or tshirt, it really shifts the vibe to something very casual and relaxed. Same with the lace top and slouchy trousers, same vibe. As a non-binary person I love balancing very feminine elements with masculine elements, it makes me feel deeply gender euphoric. If only I could grow a beard to balance out my very feminine curvy body!
Before stopping shopping for clothes I had no idea what I really used.. I was lacking in "normal" nice fitting clothes and had lost of event pieces even though I never go to any XD It's the feeling fancy I like, I guess. My wardrobe was very entertaining but impractical. And when I bought something I never thought of it as a part of what was already at home. It's kind of crazy when you think about it XD But I was just like "ahhh it's so beautiful" and not thinking any further. Now I actually have clothes to wear for everyday life. Helps a lot in living life ;) A beautiful video as always, and waow what an interview on TFD - made me quite emotional
@@Iamyl4 What kind of colors, cuts and fabrics do you like :)? Finding out these aspects of my personal style helped a lot. Also - use what you own in new ways, maybe alter them 😀
I feel so inspired to revise/create a new fashion Pinterest board! One thing I've mulled over with this is often when I get dressed I end up defaulting to outfits that are very basic/expected. I'm curious if anyone has thoughts on pushing oneself to be a bit more avant-garde with clothes in an otherwise mundane lifestyle, or if that's too linked to your inherent personality & taste.
Huge thank you for this type of content! I'm really interested in investigating my aesthetic and dissecting my desires rather than succumbing to them on impulse.
I wear a lot of mens suiting pants for work. I often end up doing a French cuff or some other big cuff at the bottom to show a little ankle. I think it does a lot to clarify the actual shape of my body, even though I really love oversized clothes. Karla Deras also has some good videos on UA-cam about how she goes about buying mens clothes and tailoring them.
This video is so helpful. I struggle so much in trying to organize my pinterest boards while also trying to sort out what I want my uniform to be. Thank you for being so detailed and honest about your choices!!
Omg! You did tango? How did I not know about this? Would love to see your face tango outfits you’ve worn or your favorite tango shoes or how you style / incorporate pieces that can work for going out / social events/dancing with more everyday outfits
This is a very smart way to work on your wardrobe. I love how you are putting so much thought into it. I feel like I definitely could use some more thought about my wardrobe and where to go from here with it.
I love each and every one of these images, but I'm rather big (tall and overweight) and feel like I take up too much space/make too much noise. I hope that one day I'll feel better woth myself and improve myself inside and out to feel confident enough to claim the space and volume (in terms of 'noise') i wish to take in order to project my personality in my wardrobe choices. X
Watched you on TFD, you were wonderful! Thanks for sharing your pinterest board, seems like a fantastic way to thoughtfully plan your shopping. Will have to try it.
I relate to outfit #17 (“skimpy top, voluminous bottoms”) and “that side of one’s self in a very very real way. I very often wear the uniform of some sort of pant and a graphic tee, but this style is my “other side” and I love her.
I just bought my first linen knitwear. Is that an idea for summer? I love how the wind goes right through it, but still creates that slouchy sweater look
I absolutely love all these images. The gray with the printed skirt is my vibe. I also love the brick red sweater with the pink pants to.Thanks for sharing this💕oh and your hair looks amazing!
Ooh I love the pink cords with the light rust color!! It is so pretty together!! Rust is one of my favorite colors to wear and never thought about it with pink 🤔
I thrifted a bubblegum pink shirt sleeve mock neck sweater a couple years ago and it is my favorite thing ever!! I already wear a lot of pink so it was nice to see inspiration for these pairings but in the opposite direction❤
Another great video! Especially appreciate how your channel has evolved in scope while you’ve also better defined the overarching theme. Thanks so much.
all of those warm monochromatic and red/orange/rust/pink outfits remind me of that red bodysuit with ochre pants outfit you put together unexpectedly in the recreating trends video. I wonder how that experiment may have influenced your inspiration here as well
I’m super duper feminine, I’ve always been. I often dress very colorfully, and light pink is my favorite color. I dress like a pink Barbie sometimes and I really love it. Light pink is my neutral, and find that it goes with most other colors.
You totally need to focus on fashion more. I live the way you articulate your thoughts especially in relationship to concepts on hiw you feel innrelation to your body and conceotual limitations. Great stuff . I watched another one of your videos and even though im a man i found your thoughts relevant and empowering .im subscribed because i was so wowed .your so bright please continue.
This is very helpful for thinking about my own fashion purchases. I feel similarly about buying pieces that I want to keep for many years, but it’s takes a lot of time/research to find those things
Also, would love to see fashion videos that involve try-ons too! Whether that’s clothes you already own or new ones. The one you did a few videos ago was very fun. Love this format too though 🧡
Love this content and it seems to work out great as a tool for you. Ended up pining one outfit from your board and purging my own, I thik I will try the exercise of grouping imageries I already picked to see how they speak to each other.
As a knitter, loose vests and slip overs have been all over the place for awhile now, I have one in my queue to knit up in very thin cashmere yarn held with lace mohair to give it a more feminine vibe, I just can’t figure out if I want it in a pale pink neutral or a pop of color….
The big slouchy sweater over maxi dress is a look for a desert climate. You wear the dress out in the late afternoon/evening then the sweater goes on when the temperature drops. It's not a particularly useful clothing match for anywhere there's a lot of rain or where there isn't a big temperature drop. You're just going to find yourself not feeling it if you don't have those occasions... you'll feel like you're not dressed for the occasion.
Hi Hanna, nice content. Brown -camel and rust look great with pink. I love the combo myself.Just found your channel. Trying to declutter 😅. Stay golden.
I love that you dress so artistically. While our styles are nothing alike, seeing you talk about clothes allows me to live through you vicariously. My wardrobe is much more practical than pretty. As a mom that goes from soccer to swimming multiple days a week, I usually wear shorts and a cotton shirt.
I have changed the entire way I view clothes, purchase clothes, wear my existing clothes, all the things...based on the last few weeks of binge watching these videos. I'm now rewatching them. I guess what I'm trying to say is, please make more analysis of fashion videos! I'm obsessed🤎
GREAT to see you on The Financial Diet, Hannah! You did a great job and I love your honesty. ❤️
She did so well!
This is how I found her, and now I'm hooked :)
Even though my style is completely different, I found listening to you talk through what you liked and why helpful. I don't know if you have any experiences like this- where you put thought and research into a clothing item and then it just doesn't work. I love this idea! Could do misses in general fashion, beauty or homewares

I agree. I would also love to see how she seeks images out, both fashion and home.
Me too! I feel so disconnected to trends, I thoroughly enjoy videos about slow and sustainable fashion. Kristen Leo is also a great creator for this.

this series/style of video is giving me LIFE
I am LIVING for new content on personal style and home decor. If HLP would only drop some BOOK content I could ask for nothing more...
I think this is such a good way to recognise what your “fantasy self” might feel or push oneself towards unwisely, and instead take the core of why a person is drawn to something and how it might be incorporated in a practical/realistic and sustainable manner. i wonder how many people will find your channel today off the back of the TFD video!! also i'm so happy you got 'frisson' in there
even in the moment I was like "I'm probably pronouncing this wrong...again..."

Talking through the system for getting inspiration and the thought process has been inspiring and illuminating!
I love Pinterest, and this is like my dream video from you!! Can’t wait to watch and follow your Pinterest boards 🤩

I'm obsessed with all of this
This is helpful. I am so often saving Pins and not being able to pin point why I like it and if I would actually wear it
Your thought processes around how to build the concept of how you want to present yourself & feel in your body are super helpful!
Anyway, that's enough rambling! Thank you for this video & your decor video. It has given me a great deal to think about for how I want my life to look.
yay, I'm so excited for you to have the button-downs of your dreams!!
Hello! New sub from your guest spot on TFD. Incredible episode 🌿
Welcome to the community! Hannah has an incredible way of balancing admiration for luxury with practical living. Hope you enjoy it here! 👍
thank you, Kristy! Glad you are here!
I hadn't known how to use Pinterest before this video. I avoided it because it was overwhelming. Now maybe I'll try it. Thank you.
Coming from the video in which you showed how you bought the actual outfit nr. 1 is so funny and cool ☺
It's kind of crazy when you think about it XD
But I was just like "ahhh it's so beautiful" and not thinking any further.
Now I actually have clothes to wear for everyday life. Helps a lot in living life ;)
A beautiful video as always, and waow what an interview on TFD - made me quite emotional
Any tips on what to look for? I’m the same way and trying not to
@@Iamyl4 What kind of colors, cuts and fabrics do you like :)? Finding out these aspects of my personal style helped a lot. Also - use what you own in new ways, maybe alter them 😀
I would love to see a "duping the vibes" of this pinterest board
I feel so inspired to revise/create a new fashion Pinterest board! One thing I've mulled over with this is often when I get dressed I end up defaulting to outfits that are very basic/expected. I'm curious if anyone has thoughts on pushing oneself to be a bit more avant-garde with clothes in an otherwise mundane lifestyle, or if that's too linked to your inherent personality & taste.
You are so creative and thoughtful. Would love to see you shop your closet for all of these looks!
Huge thank you for this type of content! I'm really interested in investigating my aesthetic and dissecting my desires rather than succumbing to them on impulse.
That first outfit is sooooo fantastic
I wear a lot of mens suiting pants for work. I often end up doing a French cuff or some other big cuff at the bottom to show a little ankle. I think it does a lot to clarify the actual shape of my body, even though I really love oversized clothes. Karla Deras also has some good videos on UA-cam about how she goes about buying mens clothes and tailoring them.
Such enjoyable & insightful content! Thanks, Hannah!! 😊❤
This video is so classy- love it!
I love this, Color is always the best first place to start when buying things for your wardrobe. I’m glad you noticed this!
This is a very smart way to work on your wardrobe. I love how you are putting so much thought into it. I feel like I definitely could use some more thought about my wardrobe and where to go from here with it.
Hi Hannah :) I'm a new subscriber and I really love these thoughtful fashion videos that you make. please keep them coming!! ❤
I could have watched like four hours of this! This was amazing
Will have to try it.
i'm so excited to do this for myself! excellent video as always, hannah!
I love seeing you talk about fashion, and I especially love watching you in Fashion Playtime.
I absolutely love all these images. The gray with the printed skirt is my vibe. I also love the brick red sweater with the pink pants to.Thanks for sharing this💕oh and your hair looks amazing!
@hannah PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE use your Pinterest board more! I adore your bulky sweater and shirt style and I would love to see more!
LOVE that outro phrase!!!
I love these style of videos! So fun to synthesize personal trends & styles from inspiration pics!
Love these types of analysis videos from you
Another great video! Especially appreciate how your channel has evolved in scope while you’ve also better defined the overarching theme. Thanks so much.
I love this so much. I spend so much time ideating about fashion like this.
all of those warm monochromatic and red/orange/rust/pink outfits remind me of that red bodysuit with ochre pants outfit you put together unexpectedly in the recreating trends video. I wonder how that experiment may have influenced your inspiration here as well
You know yourself SO well! Inspiring!
Last night I started watching your video and my husband asked “how is it?” I said “Hannah” and he said “Oh yes, she’s my favourite “ 😁
Those orange-red pants are everything.
Hannah! I love hearing you talk fashion xx more of this please
You won't regret it. Bubblegum pink is my all time favourite colour.
Loving your videos, love Pinterest, this is perfect 👌
Such amazing looks, but number 11 is EVERYTHING
AGREE
I just love hearing you thoughtfully describe things ♡
I’m super duper feminine, I’ve always been. I often dress very colorfully, and light pink is my favorite color. I dress like a pink Barbie sometimes and I really love it. Light pink is my neutral, and find that it goes with most other colors.
The strapless knit tops go great over button downs as a kind of corset. I love mine!
Love your process and intelligence
❤
Love this video, so interesting to hear your thought process
Hi Hanna, nice content. Brown -camel and rust look great with pink. I love the combo myself.Just found your channel. Trying to declutter 😅. Stay golden.
I just love this video of you talking about inspiring images, thank you 💜
I love your fashion content! I'm totally creating my own pinterest board after this. :)
I love that you dress so artistically. While our styles are nothing alike, seeing you talk about clothes allows me to live through you vicariously. My wardrobe is much more practical than pretty. As a mom that goes from soccer to swimming multiple days a week, I usually wear shorts and a cotton shirt.
How cool, just starting the new episode of TFD and I hear you in the show!! Congratulations, so cool! Now going to watch / listen the episode. ❤️❤️
