Excellent review thx l own this truck same issues. But learned that you must stay on the gas when jumping this truck. Then the front won't nose dive just give it throttle when leaving the jump no more nose dives no more breaks problem solved great truck now that l learned the hard way
@Smugglers Run CSR2 Totally agree you need to hit the ramps just right and hit the throttle to get the nose up. Same here bro, learned the hard way hopefully the info helps others out. Thanks for watching 👍👍
@Fred Waldrop Thanks Fred! Solid choice. I would go with the Baja Rey over this as well. The addition of the front bumper and the smaller wheels on the Baja Rey reduces the front end breakages you see on this.
This video is very useful and I regret seeing it too late, my friend is a RC beginner and he choose SRR first, he don’t know how to kind of drive and got chubs broken because head landing just five minutes.
@trulypoortbreezy1829 I didn't even know there was a V2😆 I thought all they did was swap out the Fuse electronics with Spektrum. For the servo it went from S904 to a S905, IMO nothing much changed there.
@ReadySetRC thanks I'm just gone throw down the extra 300 for the xmaxx the parts are cheaper than the v2 and yes the v2 comes in white Raceline logo and grey some other logo
Sup Rich. Have u had a chance to get ur hands on the new super rock rey. Just a little heads up. Man I'm digging ur vids. Old and new. Keep on doing what u do.
@Tramonta Williams Thank you for the support. Probably going to be a hard pass on the new SRR. Same truck as the old SRR. Only change was the DX3e controller.
@Roosevelt Raines jr I would say wait, I have a feeling Losi will be releasing an updated version before the end of the year similar to when the SBR 1.0 and this was released. As I stated in my previous comments if you decide to buy this you will be fine with the drive shafts. The frontend assembly is what will need to be addressed immediately. It's just not durable enough for bashing.
I agree with you however dropping 100 dollars on a car with so much details as well as a solid electronic system, while the x-maxx is prices way more expensive with cheap electronics. Infact most people upgrade the xmaxx with the same esc on the sir I think its really priced good.
@Hazem Ismail Scale looks this truck is a stunner but there are some real issues with that front end under very little stress. Don't get me wrong It's a good looking truck but until someone steps up and starts to address these issues you will be investing some series time and a little bit of money to keep it running. A price drop may get people to oversee the issues until third party support comes along.
@Jaup At the time of the release, yes. Not sure now since it's about a year since the release of this RC. FYI...I'm a normal joe. I'm not a hobby shop or sponsored by any manufacturer. All RC's are bought by me or given to me by my loving wife😍
I know I'm far behind the 8-ball on this buggy it look great I saw it the other day online coming from Japan everything exactly the same horizon hobbies losi 1:6 scale buggy will keep you posted got it coming in about supposedly another week from China Post... Are you sitting down..$85.99.... yeah when I saw this
Go toweb site "getsmat" on Google.. I just now checked the website it looks like it's $83.99 now when I get mine and it checks out good should be another week at this price I will probably order another one... Let me know that you saw it on the
You say you are breaking spindles. 4 wheel drive vehicles do not have spindles, at least not that 1. So what are you breaking? knuckles or c-hubs hub's?
@mark clausson Yes spindles. Part#LOS254055 "Losi Front Spindle Set (L/R): Super Rock Rey" as listed on the Horizon web site. www.horizonhobby.com/product/front-spindle-set-l-r-super-rock-rey/LOS254055.html Even on the Super Baja Rey and Baja Rey they are known as spindles. Getting pass the name, they are known to break on this RC. Once you resolve the issues wit the front end this is a very durable RC.
@Patriot Rob There are still a few guys I've seen that still do it. Most soak the plastics in lubricants. Overall the plastics these days have been a better quality.
josseyt agreed. I was about to buy this truck because on paper looks great but durability is a concern even more if there are so many screw to remove to access to the interior. I have my eyes on tekno my 410 totally different cat of fish but will work for me. I am new in this hobby
@josseyt Thanks for watching👍👍 I'm hoping they will address what going on in the frontend. If not them, some vendor to jump in and make some parts and I'm not looking for metal to add weight.
Ready Set RC ....seriously I think you should do a cleaning video. I guess a lot, and I mean a lot of people are looking for proper RC cleaning videos!
@GAP reviews AtoZ GAP since you have a UDR, I'm going to tell you it's a niche RC like that. Rollovers like the UDR and I will say it can be bashed but within reason, like the UDR. People like running it on 8S but I feel gear up and run it on 6S , much more fun. You would like it but trust me man it's more like the UDR experience. MAN your DBXL-E 2.0, much more fun and stable.
@Mac T Thanks for watching. Good to hear you like the SBR as well. I'm not sure if you saw my update video to the SBR but I even dropped some scale detail to mine.
Subscribed. :) Check my channel out. Seriously thinking about grabbing the truck. Just not sure about the durability of it. I have not had the best luck with newer Losi trucks in that last few years. Hrmmm.
@Jason Perrin Thank you for the support! I know what you mean. I would like to see a third part vendor throw some parts at this truck and not just metal parts. That would get me completely sold on it.
Yeah when I saw this thought I was going to poop my pants... If you're interested l will let you know just what I got... If in fact it was this buggy if it all comes true I probably should have bought two of them
I dont own this truck an i can see problems already. Next time u do a review turn the vehicle around so us viewers can see. I see now if u buy this. The drive shafts are plastic u will have to replace them.
@Roosevelt Raines jr I have not seen you on this channel before, welcome. Since you are new let me explain the format, by the review video I've done an unboxing with a slight over view (more angles in that video), a few run videos, (for this RC) a tips video how to remove the cage and my issues I had straight out of the box(more angles here), and then this review video. I also did a few running videos after the review. This should be in a playlist, my apologizes if it is not. So quite a bit of content solely on the SRR. This video was done in the early stages of the channel so the format has changes a lot for the review videos since then but the review video is just for me to speak about everything to that point. As for the axles running 8s and 6s with upping the pinion, I can report no issues they have not failed once. As for the frontend on this rig that I have not had the same experience. My comments on the front end tend to fall inline with every forum and video you will see, just not durable enough to take the pounding out of the box. For scale driving I think you will be fine. Sorry for the novel but I thought your comment warranted a respectable reply. Thanks for watching👍👍

Glad Losi are super active standing behind the product. Totally agree with you brother. Great final thought.
@CommanderAstig RC Thanks for watching bro. They really stand behind their products. I've never had an issue were I felt I was left out in the wind.
I've been on the fence with this one, I'm going with the Baja Rey, as always super insight, Thank You!
@Fred Waldrop Thanks Fred! Solid choice. I would go with the Baja Rey over this as well. The addition of the front bumper and the smaller wheels on the Baja Rey reduces the front end breakages you see on this.
Was looking to get one and came across your video. Great information thanks for sharing 💪
@IkONz RC You thought you liked shooting an editing the Lasernut, you would kill this🔥🔥
@@ReadySetRC video coming soon. I can’t wait
This video is very useful and I regret seeing it too late, my friend is a RC beginner and he choose SRR first, he don’t know how to kind of drive and got chubs broken because head landing just five minutes.
@HeCody Totally agree, SRR is not for beginners. It can be frustrating even for experience hobbyist.
Do you know if the super Rey v2 has better servo?
@trulypoortbreezy1829 I didn't even know there was a V2😆 I thought all they did was swap out the Fuse electronics with Spektrum. For the servo it went from S904 to a S905, IMO nothing much changed there.

Does it come with a battery and charger, lookin to buy but if i need to buy a battery and charger Need to know what to but
@Northwest Riders Unfortunately is does not.
In Sweden the SRR cost US$1,030.00 + shipping. 😔
@Viper Racing That is insane🤯
@@ReadySetRC Indeed. Hey, would you mind checking the weight of the spare tire (weight with wheel)?
@@viperracing2889 Weight is 1.054 lbs.
@@ReadySetRC Thanks! 😊
Is there a better motor that will fit for this?
@mike s Actually the motor is pretty good. This is rebranded Hobbywing. Another brand would be Castle.
Excellent review! I will personally stick with my SBR, it's awesome, durable and for it's size CHEAP 👍
@Great Lakes RC Thanks for watching👍👍 The SBR is a great truck and it's a tank.

Back in the day we used to boil our plastic parts and they held up 100 times better.. does anyone still do that?
@Patriot Rob There are still a few guys I've seen that still do it. Most soak the plastics in lubricants. Overall the plastics these days have been a better quality.
Nice review. Totally agreed. Super rock rey on 8s blast like a tank😱. But durability let me down to many times. Excellent video👍
