Shifting problems on the Hurst 4 speed could be as simple as shifter linkage alignment. First put the Hurst alignment tool thru the 1/8" holes, at the bottom shifter levers, when the shifter is in neutral. Then adjust the 3 linkages accordingly.
They are both new, and good. On a related note, after putting our Fury wagon together, with many new parts, had a terrible constant vibration. After checking everything, twice, turned out to be the brand new motor mounts. Put the original 60 year old ones back in, no more vibration.
Thank you, it was a ton of work. Pushbuttons rule! Our wagon and Valiant are pushbutton, very unique. 62 Darts are a special breed, so are those that think they look cool!
To solve the shifting issue, stagger the " H" pattern shift rod slightly so you're out of 2 before going into 3rd. The issue you having is your shifter is not coming out of 2nd completely before going into 3rd. Even with a tight shifter box it will jam if not staggered Whats your email, I can share our 62 dodge photos should you want.
Trans was gone though, brand new shifter. Issue was something I'd never heard of before, but I'm no expert or mechanic, just trying to get these cars moving again. First trans had a bad front bearing, what a noise that one made.
Oh my God, your car is GORGEOUS! And with that red interior, as well!
Thank you very much. Always loved red interior!
Love the dart reminds me of something GARLITS would of been factory racing back in the day!!
Cool, thank you!

The tunnel ram looked wicked cool. Like the steelies as well. Very nice car.
Thanks 👍
Just found you. I always liked the 62 Darts
Walked by this one at my friend's place for years, then one day had to have it!
Check the motor mounts and transmission mounts.

Great job on all the sheet work. We have almost the same car, but has push buttons and came from Mass.

lot of slop in those gates an theres why its getting hung up between gears i'd either rebush the sift or replace it
Shifter is brand spanking new, those new gearshift levers from Brewers solved it.
Have you got anything lined up for the coming months or are you just going to enjoy your car's in the spring and summer months?
Both! New and old projects planned, and driving what we have as much as possible!
Ford and Chry. both shared the same bolt pattern back then.
I subscribe to your channel.
Thank you! I see a Duster. Always a fan of the Duster.
I'm not even 3min into the video but probably bad 3rd gear synchronizers. I'll come back later tonight.
