    GJ doing guides. Feel like when I was a new player I had to look up SO much to understand the mechanics of the game.
    It's so weird with this game, I love it, but can't bring myself to play it recently...wonder if others feel the same and that's why population is so low?? It's missing something and I can't place what it is...even though combat is phenomenal.

      Thanks for watching :)
      The game is fun but it is niche being in the hack and slash genre. Also, it's one of the few old style games where you jump in to have fun with winning being only a secondary objective. My favourite example is Team Fortress 2. I feel that there's not much for players to learn in Chiv. After 2000 hours in TF2 I've mastered maybe 2 out of the 9 classes while be decent at the rest. 300 hours into Chiv and I think all that's left for me is to become a better duelist but I'm not compelled nor interested in doing so because quite frankly, it's not necessary.
      The game is fun but has issues including: team stacking, cheating, hit registration, and questionable design choices (e.g. forcing one team to be peasants at the start of a round, lots of siege weapons with no meaningful penalties for team killing) to name a few.
      What I would like to see (easy wins or implementations imo) are story/lore driven missions or achievement logs in game with daily, weekly, or unique milestone rewards. Community mapping and skin designing competitions could be good as well or even utilise the steam workshop. Collaboration with online personalities such as Scholagladiatoria, Skallagrim, Metatron, Shadiversity could be good aswell seeing as people interested in hack and slash would probably overlap with HEMA and historical weapons channels. Finally, the least beneficial thing I would like to see is introduce an oriental faction. There are not many pvp games out there that allow you to equip weapons such as katanas, jians, butterfly swords, chakrams, etc. At this point might as well explore African, Islander, and Arctic factions aswell.

      @@klevinduck yea, in TO theres not much except for more positioning and experience. it just feels the same overtime. Duels tho theres a lot to learn and i get the most fun out of duels. it gets very intense overtime and then i go back to TO. a lot of times, dueling skills transfer(a bit), especially the defensive ones and alternating between the two modes is what keeps me intrigued.

      I love the longsword for duelling. Unfortunately it doesn’t do enough damage for me in TO. Plus I prefer the sword with throwing knives over longsword.

    Whats the difference between the halberd and the pole axe? And what level is the pole axe unlocked?

    • @klevinduck
      @klevinduck  4 місяці тому

      I am not sure what level the pole axe is unlocked. Maybe around level 7-9 as it is a later unlock.
      I wish I had detailed stats for you but the polehammer website recently shut down. I don’t think there are major differences. From memory here are the differences.
      Pole axe:
      + officer exclusive
      + faster recovery
      + stamina management
      + maybe faster wind up
      Halberd
      + Poleman exclusive
      + longer reach
      + sprint attack option
      + maybe longer release
      I would pick the halberd over the poleaxe simply because it has longer range. It will make you the ultimate life form for team objective play if you pick it up as a knight.

      Agreed! It's probably the best class for beginners. Either that or the poleman.

    Eh.. I'm kinda disagree Poleaxe is good weapon for newbies

    • @klevinduck
      @klevinduck  5 місяців тому

      Let's discuss.
      Poleaxe has the longest range attack for the Officer class. It's stabs are intuitive to land and they two shot every class to the chest. Its has fast recovery only slower than the longsword but it does more damage. Poleaxe doesn't require good footwork or as much technical skill to use unlike war axe and greatsword which require decent kiting and positioning. Stamina management is also pretty good with the poleaxe.
      I was debating if the heavy mace would be better for newbies but overheads are harder to land, it has shorter reach, longer wind-up, and slower recovery.

    • @cyka7705
      @cyka7705 5 місяців тому

      @@klevinduck because newbies usually rely heavily on slashes attack. Poleaxe slashes is terrible, I think newbies should learn to use other pole weapons like halberd first before they touch poleaxe

    • @klevinduck
      @klevinduck  5 місяців тому

      The poleaxe slashes are terrible which is why in this video I only recommend viewers use the alternative stab attack. The video is for Officer and not Poleman.

    • @Beanpolr
      @Beanpolr Місяць тому

      @@cyka7705To be fair that's a problem with noobs, not the weapon. I'd argue weapons with worse slashes are actually better for beginners, as they kinda force you to rely less on slashes.

    I feel like poleaxe is a meh weapon

    • @klevinduck
      @klevinduck  5 місяців тому

      It is but for the purpose of being beginner friendly it's great for spamming stabs as they are easy to land. Every other officer weapon either does not have the same range or damage. The heavy mace would be better for players who are confident in landing overheads and is imo the best weapon available in the class. War axe is great for farming lower skilled lobbies but requires some good footwork. Longsword is great for dueling. Greatsword is overall a good weapon but may be harder for newer players due to speed.

      Not really if you know how to use it. As a lvl 600 I use it religiously. The special attack has the longest reaching attack in the game which is the same as the halberd. It’s overhead attacks are very fast on par to dane axe if you accel it. It’s overheads are also extremely effective when it comes to dragging. And it’s reach overall (excluding the slash) hits further than it looks it should. Best part is not a lot of people are good at reading the poleaxe either, using it’s special looks very similar to overheads. So half the time if you hide the attack players will often try counter it but get hit worth around 100 damage
      Overall, for new players in 64 player, use stabs and overheads a lot. But when they go out of reach use a special.

    • @klevinduck
      @klevinduck  5 місяців тому

      Totally agree the special can confuse many players as it has the old polearm animation. For beginners I only recommend one attack to keep things simple but yes throw in overheads and specials and you greatly improve your mix-up.

      @@TheGuyThatEnjoysArguments the special is kinda bs ngl, fell in love withj the poleaxe recently and sometimes when i use the poleaxe special it hits someone literally outside the weapon. the range is wild.
