I remember once we were stuck in traffic for 5 hours but we were travelling in a horse lorry which had a kettle and oven so we made everyone tea and biscuits

I was once driving down the motorway out of Belfast and on the other side of the motorway there was a lorry straddling the lanes engulfed in flames and surrounded by fire engines and ambulances. Then after it there was of course a massive traffic jam that stretched back several miles. As I drove happily the other direction I spotted one of the cars in the jam was my parents and sure enough my dad had got out and staring up ahead trying to see what was going on 🤣
See. Now THAT'S WHY a really thinking man, bolts a sheet of plywood to the roof racks of his vehicle; and carries both a compact folding ladder in the back of the car/van to climb on top of his vehicle; and a good pair of binoculars as well in the car. That way you're armed with the assurance, exiting the vehicle will not be in vain. Just climb on up atop the plywood station with binoculars in hand, and there you go. The reason for the jam is longer a mystery. And your the evny of others about you. Or something else.
Beautiful thing about Michael is you dont have to be British to get the jokes. Legend!

Yes! I'm a single mom and I have 3 of these drawers in my kitchen! One is just junk that doesn't seem to get thrown out. One has odds and end tools and batteries in it. The third one has light bulbs, sandwich bags, rubber gloves, face masks, and reusable ice packs. It's so true...does this mean that I've turned into a guy? Lol

Don't worry you'll still be faster than a tractor. Tractor gears are incredibly low, hence why we have a low box with a tortoise option. Unless you're driving a car from the 1930s you'll always be faster. Unless of course you get stuck, but tractors have a lot of torque pushing/pulling power. Still, it's an amusing joke.

I once drove behind a tractor for full 15 min in first gear because it was a small road with loads of turns and hills, car passing by in opposite direction all the time. It was exhausting.

I love this guy's energy. That bit about going into the death lane trying to pass a tractor; I've been in that situation on a back-road, stuck behind a cyclist. It's not even always the case of it being a slowpoke. It's happened to me several times where I'm going the speed limit or even 5 over and I get an impatient bastard speeding into the death lane to pass me.
Yep, and I have to admit, I think “die” every time.
Been there, Dionette, and yes, it is not about being a slowpoke, but is about practical wisdom in driving safely without a crash in taking your time within reason. I can relate to that experience. "Impatient bastard" lol.
If I have an impatient bastard right on my tail on a back road, I'd wisely pull over into a layby or gateway for a minute and get the fool out of my way for mutual benefit by letting him/her pass for my sake, then resume my pleasant journey without any further ado or harassment, without him/her crashing into my car and ruining it.

Oh Michael mcIntyre.. lovely relatable stories and a master at delivery.
I bought a dvd of a show of his i hadnt seen before when I was pregnant and kept it in wraps.I took it with me to hospital after my water broke and went on the epidural. I laughed so hard nurses came to check what was wrong.. My husband said it was the strangest thing to see me in stitches at the first half of the delivery. (It was my third baby and the first two deliveries were without pain reduction and quite difficult)

My Ex was afraid of heights and never saw inside the loft. She thought it was full of all the s÷%t she got me to put up there. What she did not know was that it was empty as i binned the stuff when she was out. Never caught me out as nothing which went up was ever required to come down.

THe traffic joke must be the MOST UNIVERSAL joke ever!! In NYC, the traffic to the Holland tunnel back to Jersey & PA is nearly 2 miles long every Thursday & Friday beginning in May - Sept..

On my way towards Argos-Sainsbury's in North Walsham I was actually stuck behind a tractor for a while on the B1145 from Aylsham lol. With its sharp Z bends on this country road, behind the wobbly farmer who doesn't give a damn who is behind him. He turned left into a field and off I go .... Yay! FINALLY! So yes, this is very true of Norfolk lol. Very funny!!!

I've only just found these videos of Michael, my goodness they're absolutely hilarious. He had me in stitches with tears running down my face. Even as a female I can relate to his rantings from being stuck on a motorway or behind a tractor or having a "man" drawer but with me it's a "woman's" drawer, we're just as bad at hoarding as men are. I have a drawer full of stuff I've had for years but never used, screws, nails, bits of wire, electric plugs, loads of keys that I have no idea what they're for, bits of string (just in case), numerous batteries that probably died years ago, elastic bands that are so old that when I go to use them they break into small pieces, numerous recipes I've cut out of magazines and newspapers which I've never used but are so old that the paper's turned yellow, but I keep them "just in case", 😀

I thought of this yesterday as I drove down a 2 lane 80km/hr road (I am Canadian) and a tractor was slowly driving in the opposite direction with a line of traffic behind him 😂... farm country, we're used to it, but thinking of this made me chuckle.
OMG, I'm laughing so hard i'm crying. I'd like to say my man drawer (s) were started by my husband, but since he's passed, I still have them, and use them, and have everything but the foreign currency. I'm ready with my allen wrenches and batteries, old leads and cell phones!

I live in an area of Canada where I can leave work in the morning from night shift...drive 25km home and see up to 5 vehicles before entering town.
Last week we drove 40km to the next town and were stuck in traffic for an hour due to road construction.
Can't imagine those poor sods in traffic for hours every working day...be insane.
I changed jobs because the traffic almost drove me crazy.
Must be one of the sanest comedians around. He makes life bearable.
