Ahh yeah, it was comedy gold when I saw that rear start to slide away a second time once he’d got past me. But I was quickly punished for taking enjoyment from the misfortune of others 🤣
Don't be too hard on yourself, Chris. That was a pretty decent result for not being familiar with the car OR the track! And the biggest issue you suffered wasn't even your fault. Getting tagged from behind always sucks.

great video Chris! LMU looks really promising, gotta admit though that I havent driven LMP2 yet, might hop on AMS2 tomorrow and just see how they behave. maybe the LMP2 will come to LFM with AMS2. Anyways, really love your content chris, you are a big inspiration for me.

Thank you! It was a really weird race, thanks to my freak qualifying lap. I was definitely a few places higher than where I should have been, and I was clearly holding everyone up behind me in those first few laps. So it was very hard work!

Ahh mate, don’t feel too bad about it, we all make these mistakes. I made a much worse mistake in a later race here… I forgot i wasn’t in ACC, and I thought the rolling start was ghosted… so I drove right into the back of someone before the race had even started 🤦🏻♂️ I’ve never apologised so much 🤣
Yeah, even small ones. Most of my mistakes were in cornering, and that’s where I was losing so much time compared to the guys around me… just not getting the car turned or rotated well enough. Really challenging!
Hey Chris, can you check your graphics settings? Maybe racing in 4K and recording/encoding down to HD (to save space) and/or see if any of the anti-aliasing filters help. It's not terrible but I can see more aliasing/jagged edges in your LMU videos than others I've watched recently. Good race and brilliant commentary as usual.
Ahh, is that what anti-alias settings do? I’ve never touched them. But how LMU appears in this video is exactly how it appears on my screen when I’m playing it. I’m just too clueless about graphics settings to know what to change 🤣
@@chrisrogerssimracing Yep, anti-aliasing reduces those sizzling/jagged edges you see. Where possible, it's best to increase resolution, like run the sim at 4K. You can then encode down to HD (1080p) for UA-cam to reduce time and size of the edited video.
Turn 10 here is very difficult indeed because it's off camber and you need to be on the brakes, whilst also trying to still take the corner before it. So easy to snatch a tyre. I used to hate that corner when I raced on F1. These cars look so clumsy to drive, especially if you're not used to it, so I think overall, it was a good result Chris 👍🏻

Yeah, lap 2 was very stressful up until my lock-up. Literally a queue of faster drivers all backed up right behind me. I’ve still got no idea how I managed the qualy time. Couldn’t even work out which part of the track I gained my time on.
Yeah, like I said, I’m just not comfortable driving this car. I’m not able to find a consistent brake pressure, which means I’m often turning in too early or too late… which then causes me to use the throttle to try and reposition or rotate the car, when I should just be braking consistently. The LMP2 and LMU is quite different to the usual sims I compete in, so it’s a lot harder just to hop in for a quick race like this.
Well I just have to get tonights shift out the way then I have a few days to get some races done I've found lmu has become my go to for racing that I feel I can at least compete in
Fun watch...from watching, its obvious you have an absolute ton of understeer...these LMP2's should not be pushing like that. You either need to work on setups or work on releasing the brakes into the corner better. You're losing all your time on apex / minimum speed through the corner.
Yeah, cornering is the big issue for me with these cars. It’s just so different to the usual cars I drive, and throws me right off. I only ever run with default setup and wouldn’t even know where to start with making changes, but I think a lot of my cornering woes would be fixed just by being more comfortable with how the car handles. At the moment, I’m just not getting enough LMU track time to make any real difference. The qualifying time was definitely a freak lap!
Ohh you were doing so well until another guy hit you at the back ! It isn't your fault and you couldn't avoid something like this ! The other guy did a mistake and instead of let the car stabilized gain control and return to the track safely he decided to return to the track as soon as possible without having control and create an incident that you paid the price ! Extremely unlucky for you 😢 ! Great effort though from you ! 👍

It's bad sportsmanship and rude to flash your lights like an entitled spoilt brat, yes he maybe faster but he should also have the race craft skill to overtake you safely without flashing his lights like a little boy. Sorry rant over.
I’m with you. It’s the one thing that really irritates me. And annoyingly, I play right into their hands… headlight flashers do it to try and put you off, and whenever I see it, it winds me up…. which of course then puts me off, giving them what they wanted 🤦🏻♂️

Good result considering you were unfamiliar with both car and track. Just a shame about the ninja assassin taking you out.

At like 90% of braking zones you are also on the throttle.

If you're locking up a lot reduce the brake pressure in the car setup Chris
Looks like your car had too much understeer Chris, especially under braking.
Yeah you’re definitely right there. I think it’s partly due to having no setup, but a lot to do with lack of LMP2 driving skill!
