At 2:04 I'm confused, and I feel like he reshot some footage. With the insulation in the correct final orientation he marks the FRONT FACE. He cuts out the section he marked. When he fits it, the cut out in on the TOP FACE. Did he make a mistake and reshoot, or am i missing something
I used to do plumbing along time ago, and when I first started, we used the pipe bender but then the inspector wasn’t allowing it anymore we had to use fittings, but I really liked using the bender, what country are you in?
It's worthless to keep it from freezing. Has to have electric heat tracer inside the insulation to keep it from freezing. Insulating domestic copper lines is a waste of money. You can maybe argue putting insulation on hot water lines put it's still not going to keep the water hot very long.
@@gregoryjohnson7706and that's why my hot water pipes don't stay hot for long after running water thru them. Physics had shown it to be true. There is a critical diameter of insulation though, any more or less and benefit diminishes.
Honestly man, great job, im in the industry nearly a good while now, very handy tool to have, and ill get one set for sure, especially if you want nice tidy cuts when pressed for time. In Ireland we use the term , Lag pipework, just because you never heard of it gives you the right to sound like a Gowl. Well that didn’t look complicated. I think most people could haven’t worked that out without your video, or were you just marketing that little green plastic thing.
Я у себя все это сделал без шаблона. Полные разрезы только когда заканчивался утеплитель. Изгибы, крепления все вырезалось. Сначала да - непонятно как, а потом полетело.
That's not true about the real Pro using insulation that's not cut many times on a construction site the plumbers do the plumbing and the pipe covers come in later and cover the pipe they don't work together you go on a job and try and put pre-close insulation on a pipe they'll shut that down then insulators want their work too and by the way I've been a pipefitter for 54 years that was a nice looking job that jig didn't he uses that's the real deal
If it makes it easier and better, why not? Templates are for accuracy and consistency each and every time. Takes the guess work out of it. Woodworkers use templates all the time 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
So using tools requires no skill? Oh next time a erect a stud wall I'll use my hand instead of a screwgun shall I and just put the tape measure down and eye everything
Quality workmanship as always!
Nice cutting tool. Greetings from a swiss plumper!
That’s actually a damn clean install!
Nice touch👌…. Someone who takes pride in his work for a change!👍
This is called time wasting.
Lag the pipes is a saying in my part of the world. Good job there.
Really loving the channel. Neat job.
Thanks mate 🥰👊
Lag?! What the hell is LAG!? Been plumbing 25yrs never heard that term, we actually call it "insulating pipe" where I am.
I might as well be "that guy" and point out that with a little practice you can eye ball those cuts just fine
@@hammersandnails1458 do it all the time. All by hand no jig.
@@hammersandnails1458 what's a lag anyway you know?
@@hammersandnails1458 do it by hand all the time.
It's called pipe insulation or pipe lagging in the UK. Not sure if I'd use "lag" as a verb though...

Very good 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Beautiful job!
Whoa brilliant 👍🏼👊🏼🏴🇬🇧
Great job loved this

What are the measurements for the insulation?
Very good👍👍
早速作ろう🤩
Is there a way to isolate over the pipe clamps?
What's the insulation meterial name
Awesome job.. where to buy the green piece?
Probably 3d printed
Where do I get that tool?
Drpipe.co.uk
So that’s the secret, you measure and then cut, who’d have ever thought 🤦♂️
Wheres the tool to do the cuts from
Www.drpipe.co.uk
4 weeks later after full installation, jobs done love
Haha faster than that pal 🤣👌
Please share 3d print model for cutting.
You can just use a miter box
2:48 можно сразу целую вставить, зачем разрезать на две части?
Video purposes mate 👍
I don't understand, but it's very interesting😂
@@-dn2265 smaller diameter pipe coming off the tee. Insulation wouldn't have fitted so good. Very neat job 👍🏻
Could you show us how to do it without that template you use?
Yeah you will get close but not perfect
It's really hard to do it without the template we would call that a jig that's a beautiful little tool
I miss the old days using asbestos and muslin. :D
I'm highy skeptical about how effective this job is in actual hard freeze

What is this for? Thermal isolation?
Uh yeah
Any links to that tool mate?

Totally agree mate and thank you!
The pipes will sweat at the pipe hangers. You must close the air gap with tape or insulation. Rookie job.
Pros don't use pushfit copper fittings.
There press fit not push fit
Or could be like pros that did my boiler move and replacement. Just don't lag any of it, long pipe runs in the loft all naked for all to see.
Well that didn’t look complicated. I think most people could haven’t worked that out without your video, or were you just marketing that little green plastic thing.
Excellent video. Beautiful work. Such a shame to cover those beautiful pipes!

Отлично!
What knife are you using?
Toughbuilt insulation knife
Thanks 👍
FWIW a fish fillet knife works very well. Don't use it for anything else and it will stay sharp a very long time.
You never notched around the clips
A guy that knows what hes doing doesn't need that jig ya got either
Like a pro and puts the joint against the cold wall!
Looks better that way mate 👊
When you're a real pro you don't need that green shape up toy to cut it
First thing is you don't use that junk ass foam
Rubber or fiberglass for copper
Rubber cold fg hot
Медные трубы это слишком по богатому😮 равносильно золотому унитазу
You can also 3D print the tool. 🤭
I'm just worried how long those hidden joints are going last before eventually leaking.
You act like asking the insulation compromises the joints?! Besides, the insulation isn't water proof, if it leaks, you'll know it pretty quickly.
This is a self correcting problem.

A Real Pro will use the correct insulation while installing the pipes so they are closed not "cutted" and they are very thin!
What are you even on about???!!
@@BcMzRusT I have no clue.
lol it’s a cookie cutter it ain’t rocket science. Did we really need a tutorial for this?
Your using a template, which requires no skill that would qualify you as a professional, so I have to say this is not a big deal.
