Sketchbook Doodle Ideas for Beginners

- If you've followed my for any time at all you know that I love sketchbooks! They can be used for so much more than just sketching. I take mine with me nearly everywhere I go and use it to take notes, journal, doodle, swatch and much more.
This video shows you some fun sketchbook doodle ideas and introduces you to my very own "Sketch Bliss" product that I personally designed. It has three different types of paper in it for colored pencils, markers and mixed-media. It also comes with 40 fun doodle and texture prompts to get you started.
I also take the opportunity while doodling to test out the Cra-Z-Art Timeless Creations Ultra Fineline Markers. For being a Cra-Z-Art product I was pleasantly surprised.
So grab a sketchbook and follow along! You don't have to be an artist or even know how to draw to start using them. And if you love coloring pages and books, sketchbooks can even help you to become a better colorist! Keep following this series to see how.

I am so happy that I found your channel. I'm new to adult coloring and have psoriatic arthritis that is settling in my fingers and carpal tunnel starting in both wrists and nerve blockage issues in both elbows. Your occasional tips and tricks and FYIs for chronic pain really help

Thank you Jennifer for this video. I bought your wonderful sketch book with mixed media paper because I dabble in different mediums. I am a wannabe artist but I am so fearful of starting art in my sketch book. Seeing this doodle video has given me courage to just get started. Wow that sketch book is awesome. Great idea to have different paper in one book. After Christmas is over ill have to get one for sure. I'm really interested in the doodle art atm as i really go black as soon as i stare at a black page i hate it, but doodling is fun too and it does sometime spark bigger ideas and art projects. Thanks so much

Just discovered your channel and subscribed straight away :) as I have always done doodles between writing my books and this channel is right up my street. My pens of choice atm are the stabilo hard tip fine liners they come in a nifty fold out box and I've had the same set for over 4 years they seem to be never ending. Thankfully my bf understands my massive collection as I'm a writer but when I moved in her got to see the full collection of the felt tips and markers, instead of being freaked out he built a big storage unit for them all bless him :) great channel x

he's the best boyfriend ever, he's really handy with stuff like that he even built me a desk from salvaged wood too and it looks amazing.
the pen holders are little draws with a little perspex sheet front so i can see what colours ive got and the ones i need to keep upright are in long wooden batons with drilled holes for each pen and they're along the back of the desk. this is the guy who also built me a shelf in the bedroom just for my nail polish, from a sanded up scaffolding board, with 4 levels so everything can be seen- the man is a genius with a saw, a sander and a drill :)

Washi tape is so fun!
I bought those when they were a new item to Wal-Mart. They are only good for doodleing. I like that they don't bleed on my Bullet Journal pages.
I need to try coloring with them next. But they definitely won’t be great for large spaces...can you imagine? lol

Yay!!! I hope you love your sketchbook! The sketchbook has 4 pages printed with lots of helpful information all about the 3 different kinds of paper. The first page is towards the front and then the other 3 are colored divider pages throughout the sketchbook. Have fun!

Absolutely love this sketchbook ideas for doodlers beginners. Thank you for testing the fine line makers from crazy art, so I will be checking them out at my local walmart. Have you done a review on Caliarts 80 Metalic Gel Pens? I purchased some and was wondering what your thoughts were.
I haven’t purchased those gel pens yet. How do you like them?
I just got and my main concern is there are lots of air pockets in the inktubes so probably will be lots of skipping if they work at alll. I will let you know.

I have them and i hate them so much it messes up my pictures and I use marker paper I don't understand
I’m one of your new premium members, I’m going to have to check this out. If you remember, I also have chronic pain from a brain tumor. This would be great. I love art, but I don’t know how to draw, so I am at a loss on paper vs. what medium to use with what. I love your coloring pages! I recently bought Arteza fineliners. They are fantastic...but what’s the best paper to use? Colored pencil? Again, what’s the best paper to use?
I believe those are felt tip just like the ones I’m using in this video, so I would recommend the marker paper...something very smooth.

I really enjoyed your video. However, I do wish you would have shown how to create the doodles, at least one example in each section. I have trouble duplicating shapes and things, (I may not be saying this correctly, so I hope you get the idea), and need to be shown. That being said, I did enjoy the video. I'm thinking about getting the sketchbook. Thank you.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. I though about making this video a demonstration video, but I have done some of that in the past during my Live events and I knew it would make this video very long so I opted to keep this one shorter. I will consider doing a longer version.

Isn’t that called zentangle
Doodling and zentangle are very similar but zentangle has some very specific guidelines that makes it unique and it focuses on a meditative practice. I LOVE zentangle but what I am demonstrating here is definitely doodling because it doesn’t follow the guidelines. Also, to “officially” teach zentangle, the teacher needs to be certified, which I am not.
Coloring Bliss those are all valid points but I think maybe what was being assumed is the patterns you're using which I could clearly name almost all the ones in the particular video alone are actual official Tangled from the website and printed materials. That's all. Cool too use them I doddle with them as well I just correctly identify them out of respect that's all.

Washi tape is a low-tack paper tape. It comes in decorative colors and patterns and I use it for everything and everywhere. Warning...highly addictive ⚠️🤪❤️
