My skills have improved 90% since I started watching your marvelous demos.
+Dolores Ungerleider, I'm so happy to hear this! Thanks for watching.
Can wait i'm thinking girfitti
This technique reminds of what I do when using my watercolor markers. I smear some color on my clear stamp blocks and using a water-filled paint brush start painting. Because one of my stamp blocks is fairly large, I can smear several colors on it, and start mixing different shades together to get some unique colors.
What a brilliant idea! I can’t wait to try it! I am new at using gel pens and your advice is so appreciated! I have been following you, and enjoy your channel! Thanks so much.😊
This is AAAAHHHHMAZING!!! Can't wait til I get the busy-ness of the day behind me and I can sit down to play with this new method you've taught us. I love my gel pens but have felt limited because I like to color pictures with large areas and it takes so much of the gel pen ink. Now I'll be able to color those large areas and not feel so wasteful. THANK YOU
WOW! I love using gel pens and have found the same, having to use large portions of ink in large areas. I am VERY excited mixing the glycerine to enhance the use of the gel ink. I love watching your tutorials and have learned Sooooo much. Thank you for taking the time to create ALL the tutorials, providing FREE coloring pages and your excitement!
Learning ingredients is good
Dearest Jennifer, I am a scrapbooker and the "latest" trend is for a mixed media background but I do not like the mess. I can see loads of applications using this technique on scrapbook pages for scrapbookers!!! And, it is NOT messy!!! Praise be!!! Thanks!!! Heading out for my Glycerin (already have Gamsol!!!) and dropper bottles!!!! PS I am a new subscriber!!!
+Alice Adler, thanks for subscribing and I'm so happy this has inspired you so much. Have fun!
I am so pleased to find your videos
Waiting for my first bottle of vegetable glysterine as we speak! Can't wait to try this!
Ok, ok, you've done a lot of great stuff, but this? This is brilliant!!
+faigie2002, oh thank you!!! I'm so excited about this!
You are a GENIUS!! Tape, Wow who would have believed it would be so simple. I applaud the Master Teacher. Thank you so very much for the key that will unlock a tsunami of creativity. Now I can really give my current project the 'Pop' I was looking for.

I cannot wait to get some brushes and glycerin! I'm looking at my big box of Gelly Roll pens in a whole new light!
OMG honey yay that is sooo awesome and fantastic!!!! yes I beyond excited!!!!
Great great great video I love watching it over and over and over again!
My Gal Pal "Fancy Jayne" is going to kill me with everything I just learned from you today. But I can hardly wait to get started. Then show this to our coloring club!!! Thanks!
+Jane Todd, I hope you are having fun trying all the coloring ideas. Say hi to your coloring group for me.
Well, we are having to travel to a "real" art store to get frames and supplies. Especially the mixing brush I have and you show on your video #8 (with the glycerin and colored pencils). I have 2 helpers and we are run ragged with 8 to 10 club members all over 80 in age. Plus trying to keep the "walker wars" down because these Seniors have their own pecking order! Go figure? But we are still having fun and thanks.
Coloring Pages Bliss b
Jen, every since I learned this I hav used it all the time .I love my gelpens and use them on just abt every pix. thx for this series.
You are very welcome 😊❤️
Can’t wait. To try it. Thanks
This is so much easier than using water on my brush to spread the ink. I could only do small areas and could not do any blending. I am really excited to be able to add this to my bag of techniques. THANK YOU!!!!!!!
+Leah Speller, I agree...I may never go back to plain water for art!
What an amazing technique!! I can't wait to try this!
+Lesley Taylor, I hope you have fun playing with this new idea! Thanks for watching.
Learning to do big

Oh my my my this technique is amazing
Awesome!
Wow this is awesome
That's awesome I will definitely be trying this to get more use outta my ink gel pens are not cheap
I hijacked a bottle of glycerine from work today just so I could try this.....we use it as a fingertip moistener at work so we have lots of it layin around. (don't worry....I'm not really a thief......imma take it back on Monday 😉). I'm headed to my craft room now to experiment! Thanks for sharing! This looks like tons of fun!!
+Michele Johnson-Utter, that's awesome that you had some at work...I'm sure they won't miss a few drops 💦 for you to try at home with. Have fun!
HI Jennifer, I am now a patron. I can't wait to start downloading the charts tomorrow.
+Diane Terrizzi, thank you sooo much for your support! I hope you love the charts.
What a good idea! I'm going to have to try this. Love your videos.
Hey Jennifer not sure you check these older series but I am working through your gel pen tutorials since joining your great coloring bliss community. I found a nice juicy gel pen set at Target by U Brand and it works really well with your tape and glycerin technique. 30 for $15. I figure I can play with these a bit before I crack open my beautiful new Gelly's
I really enjoyed this video. I'm going to order some glycerin to try this technique out! love it!
+DM Prejean-Winters have fun experimenting!
Gel pen collection goals😂
So pretty so many gel pens
What?! I have like a bazillion gel pens! I am so excited to try this!!!
Love this idea
THANK YOU so much for this video! I haven't colored in a while specifically because of the large space + gel pen issue. Now there's nothing holding me back - whooppee!!
+DBsaysNamaste glad I could help...have fun and color on!
Wonderful technique! Thank you. How long does it take for your art to dry since you are mixing with glycerin?
Wow great demo this technic is amazing 👏👏👏👏👏👏
+Bev Abberley, glad you like it!! So much fun!!
OH MY GOODNESS I need the see a background done with this technique sky or water
Very good thanks
Looks like such fun to do! What paper did you demonstrate on? Can you show the technique on different types of paper such as cheap 99 Cent Store, Dollar Tree or Michaels coloring books? If cheap paper won't do, could I coat it with clear gesso or something else first?Do you use acrylic or watercoloring brushes? Have you tried oval or round instead of flat brushes yet?
I appreciate that you include dollar store pens. Thank you for sharing all your coloring magnificence :)
+Tina Kloepfer, so many fantastic questions! Come join me this Wesnesday at my LIVE event on Facebook...I will be doing a follow up to this video and I would love to answer some of these questions. I hope you can make it.
very cool
I love your videos they are so inspiring and I am not the only one that watches your videos all of my siblings do to xoxoxo
+Sherrae Bell, thank you so much for watching and leaving such a nice comment. I love inspiring people to get out their art supplies and be creative!
That is so cool!! I'm excited to try it😊👏
+Heidi Collins, thanks for watching and I hope you have fun experimenting!
I want to download the free testing pages but do not know how! Love your videos!
Very cool !!
awesome this looks like so much fun
+Back Bone Creative Jo, thanks for watching!
Love it!
This is brilliant! 😊
My teacher gaved me A grade for my good performance...Thank you soo much for this video and keep it up....😊
I have a question, iinstead of using the tape and put down the color and then active again with the glycerin, can you go stray to the paper and the blend with the glycerin?
Thank you, love your technique❤
I haven't tried glycerin yet, but I do know that a clean area of a cutting mat is a good alternative to matt tape for expressing gel for painting.
Striking and spreads a long way !!!
I can't wait to use this technique esp filling in spaces and sky for example.. Do you have a video using the Gamsol by any chance?
BEAUUUUUUTIFUL!
so Jennifer Stay how many gel pens do you have because I see that you have a lot of gel pens I really want to know how many you have. plus I have watched all the videos and they really helped my favorite video was glycerin blending keep it up
How long does it take for the gel/glycerin combo to dry? I’m a newbie to adult coloring. So far I’ve used markers and colored pencils. My next purchase will definitely be gel pens, especially after watching your videos! Thank you!!
Debra in Ohio
I'm excited to try this. :)
+Nancy Thomas, I hope you love it as much as I do!
You are so clever
I tried the Matt finished Scotch Tape but it didn't work very well for my pens. I played around and found 2 surfaces that work better. The best one was photo paper. It works great on both the front and back of paper but you will only be able to remove the color on the finished side of the paper. I also tried some vellum scrapbook paper (not the one you use for pastel pencils) and that works well too but not as great as the photo paper. I have 4 x 6 inch photo paper that I use. Not sure what brand. It came included with my printer ink cartridges(Cannon).
+marina brantner, photo paper is a fantastic idea! Thanks for sharing!
AMAZING!!!!! TFS😀😀😀
This is awesome!! I only color with glitter gel pens so of course I go through a lot of pens. Can't wait to try the glycerin. Question for you though: I would like to download the worksheets that go along with this series but don't want to commit to becoming a premium member. Can I just purchase the worksheets themselves?
+Lisa Giese, at this time, the only way to get the worksheets is by becoming a Premium Member. But...you are not the first person to ask about this. I am planning on discussing this with my husband/partner as soon as he has some free time.
I would appreciate it. :)
Cooooool!
Love it!! Another great video. Is this one of the techniques that Rylan discovered?😊
+Sally Thibodeaux, this one is all me! But...ever since he saw me use it he has been suggesting different ideas for me to try. 😉
I'm a new subscriber and you've taught me so much about using gel pens! Thank you. Can you please tell me where I can find the paint brushes you're using?
Welcome! In these videos I’m not using anything specific or special for brushes. Just some all purpose inexpensive ones I had picked up at Michaels
If a gel pen stops working, and you just cannot fix it, don't waste it. When you want to use that color, take the pen apart, remove the inside ink tube, gently separate the little plastic writing tip from the ink tube, and then you can blow the ink out of the tube into a little container, and use it like paint.
Looking forward to trying this. Where do you purchase the little bottles with the dropper?
It looks like more glycerin would blend the gel color, just saying. Love your videos, thanks for the tremendous work you do.
Wow! Love this technique Jennifer! Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to try it!
*squeeeee!* Magic! 😍😍😍
Glycerin attracts moisture, is there an issue using it in coloring books and not drying properly? For reference I am in an extremely humid area in Louisiana and it takes my watercolors longer to dry.
So fun, thank you! Got JoAnn's ad in mail 2 days ago. On list for tomorrow with 2, same day use, 50% off coupons: glycerin and gel pens. Now, to get those Worksheets somehow; still having issues... :(
+Mayra Pulfer, oh no! I hope you can get the worksheets to download. My husband can help you as soon as he gets back from his filming job today.
Thanks!
Could you please help answer my question?? I have a bottle of Gamsol and a bottle of clear-textured Gesso--can either of them be used as the 'Glycerin' is with my gel pens? Sorry for my ignorance (no, I did not enjoy Chemistry in Eleventh Grade High School! LOL!) Thanks for your help! Lynn
Would you be able to use this method along with the method of base layering as well, or would it cause the highlighter to mess up? thx for the great series.
+TWEETY K, it should work together without any problems. Have fun experimenting!
Does the glycerin work with water paints too
Is this the gel pen your using or you just moving the ink around?
Have you tried just using water? I have been doing this for some time and a water brush or brush and water does the same trick.
Can you please tell me how to draw on Glossy tiles with either Sharpies or Gel pens. And to keep it on the tiles that it don't rub off.
You can't
Would making tape work? Lots of varied widths!
Does the glycerin cause bleeding through? Nice vid btw
+Dolyttle, in the small amounts I am using it has not caused any bleed through. I am also using a heavier weight paper so that helps. Have fun trying out this awesome method. 😊
Thanks =) I will let you know! Most books I get have thicker paper.... And A lot of the time I make copies tbh, was wondering!
what type of brush are you using?
Does the paint have any archival lasting quality ?
Does it work with no glycerine?
Can u plzzzz review uchtam gel pens. They are on Amazon for a low price. I love my set and I want everyone to know about them
+Himanish Gupta, they are on my list of pens to review. As soon as my colored pencil review series is complete, I will shift my attention to other mediums.
how do I join your group? I think you are great!
+Catrena Belgamh, I would love to have you join our community! There are links in the video description that can take you to my Facebook page and from there you can learn about upcoming events. how easy is this
Do you own instagram for your work?🎨😆
+Creative Caitlin, I do have an instagram account that I post on from time to time. I hope to do more with it in the near future.
Can I use this technique for Bible journaling without damaging the paper in my Bible?
+Donna Eaton, definitely test it first because it is introducing more liquid...but...it is not like water, so it may work. Let me know!
Why does it feel like I'm in kindergarten ? Pretty sure it's nap time.
Have you tried glycerin with watercolor pencils? (coloring first, then painting on the glycerin)
+Lynne Bailey, yes! It is AMAZING! I did a LIVE event on my Facebook page about it. Come check it out!
Found it...thank you!!!
Coloring Pages Bliss I don't have a facebook page. Do you have the video here on youtube for that ?
