This mum is worried that she is playing an instrument that is too big for her. Is that hurting her to play? Or even is it just uncomfortable to play. Has she played with her friends enough? are other developmental activities being sacrificed to make this achievement? If my kid was that into music .... there would be no playing on stage. no exploitation. No allowing egos to push a prodigy to that sort of height.
She’s also playing a much larger violin than 6 year olds play.
There isn't one size that all 6 yr olds play, but her instrument is definitely too big for her. I'm guessing her teacher opted to have her go up a size or two for the sake of tone; it's not uncommon for prodigious kids to be playing instruments a size or two larger than what they should be. Small violins can only provide so much in terms of tone, and once you reach a certain level, you're gonna need a larger size if you're young.
Yes there is little chance of being able to get any reasonable tonal quality on a smaller violin, even if it were better suited to her physical size.
Trust me I know, as I played violin for 13 years.

I’m more interested in knowing how they teach these young kids
The secret ingredient is child abuse
These are prodigies. They are born with an innate sense to understand the instrument. I took classical piano classes for 10+ years starting from quite a young age and my parents beat me with a stick while i practice/don't practise, because as an Asian, if you don't get whacked with sticks while growing up for various reasons, it's not normal. But that didn't turn me into a virtuoso😂😂😂
But i can play some Ghibli soundtracks and easy Disney music for my own entertainment.

I do hope that she genuinely has 100% passion for this and hasn't been pushed into it (this applies to all child prodigies of any and all subjects). Add to the impressiveness of it all by remembering she's doing this by memory, no sheet music.
You two are hilarious! But also very accomplished violinists. I enjoy your little snippets of playing. Would love more. Just happily discovered your channel yesterday. Will be back!
What I like about Brett and Eddie is that they judge different performers at the level they should be.
- If a guy claims to try to get a world record on a golden electric violin for Bumblebee and is missing half the notes, they'll tear into him
- If America's/Britain's Got Talent heavily value shallow and flashy instrument playing than actually quality instrument playing, they'll tear into them
- If a 6-year old is playing Paganini and is not always in tune and is a bit inconsistent, they'll be like, "Yeah it's not perfect but she's SIX".
So they intentionally change their standards based on how the people playing present themselves, which is valuable.

honestly, the best self-ad you'll ever see
Technically you’re always last when you click
"I'm just enjoying it at this point, and she's 6 years old"
Dont ever, EVER cut this without context
But that’s what you just did, I-
That was unnecessary
Unbelievably gifted & talented child prodigy....OMG!!! The guys actions are so funny!! LOVE IT!!!!
In some strange way I, a 56-year old currently struggling with Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, feel my self-esteem get a little bit better when I see the pain of Brett and Eddy when they watch all these prodigies. 😂 Time to go practice!
Good luck on your journey! Hope you enjoy it 😄
Lol, same here (63, Happy Farmer, Gavotte.)
@@samuelcollins8965 Thanks! I do enjoy it very much indeed. It's hard, but that makes it the more satisfying to see even the tiniest progress.
@@grantbmilburn Oh, I long for the day when I've come that far. Good luck with the next book!
@@katam6471 Thanks! Keep practicing 40 hours/day or 40 hours/month, whatever is practical. When you get to book 2 number 8 you can tell everyone that you play paganini.
maybe twoset can do a collab with her, she's in her 20s now i think
I really want to hear what she says.
The video of her playing this was posted 5 years ago, so she should be 11 or 12 rn
Oh wow.
I'm a piece of shit
Tanukouï-San oh yeah she’s 25 now
Even the the audience had a surprised reaction once she got started. Just rewind to the very beginning and you'll hear their response.
I don’t play an instrument but appreciate music and your perspective on difficulty as a musician and analysis of technical stuff. Thanks for explaining everything in a an easy to understand format to the rest of us. 😅
