Excellent. Its people like you who should be making video's! Short and to the point without lengthy talk... And, was able to understand without audio due to your hand gestures. Great Job.! I'm just in the process of putting my TACH on that very panel and wasn't sure how it was going to come out. They can be tricky.
thank you for the video and yes, everybody else skips this part. took me 7 videos until found yours that had exactly what i needed to know instead of all the other things that i can already do better than the guys in that videos i watched.
Another thank you John. The hardest part of working on todays modern vehicles.is knowing how the engineers attached components. In the olden days of "metal", there were exposed screws, W/O the mystery. Not anymore. We need more videos like yours Nicely done.
Thanks for this! Just bought a 94 suburban and that looks JUST like my dash! The tape deck is definitely Factory still in 2021 LOL my cassette adapter for stuck, this will help me get in there to replace it!
Finally found this. Tried to clean the tape heads on the cassette player so as a dummy I sprayed some silicon and it coated everything. So now I have to remove the player and properly clean the insides. Hopefully I cand do it.
Take the pinch clips out of their holes, and put them on the front face in their locations. Origination problem is solved. You'll need a couple of flat screw drivers, or two of those plastic trim tools he had in the video to get them out, but it will be worth it.
I have a 1994 Chevy C1500 w that same tape deck. I messed around w it and it working but now I can’t remember what I did. It seems like all the functions work when there’s not a tape in it. Once I put the tape in it I get nothing. Any suggestions?
The Equalizer and cassette tape player is that a refurbished unit ? it looks like it is with the clear plastic over The Equalizer screen I am looking for where I can get my equalizer cassette tape unit rebuilt or exchange for a rebuilt. Do you have any information for that thank you
The tape deck is an OEM NOS unit. I get my OEM radio parts and repair services from a guy named Sam at SPL Electronics in Missouri. oem-auto-accessory.com
Thank you! Mine doesn’t work and I’d like to remove it and replace it with something useful as I don’t use cassette tapes. Any ideas? Or even just a cubby unit that fits for phone storage or whatever? Just bought a 91 c1500

The extent of my knowledge is how to R&R the unit. I sent mine out to a shop I found online that repairs the units. I wish I had more to offer.
