@@lbow09 yeah I know, I just want them to be aware of the live version as well, personally I favor that one, so it is my hope they get to the Salival version one day soon.
This is a great cover maintaining the original groove. To say it’s better than the original is very subjective considering the generation gap from Zeppelin to TOOL. At 54 I am big TOOL and Zeppelin fan and have to say if you want to hear the best version (subjective again), listen to the 12:30+ live version from Zeppelin’s The Song Remains the Same movie. It doesn’t get any better then that!
Despite being a massive Tool fan, I don't think I've heard this cover, looking forward to it. You should check out A Perfect Circle's cover of John Lennon's Imagine, sounds a lot darker than the original

I was there when they played this live in Tempe Arizona Halloween 2015 they dressed as Zeppelin and opened with this song which they haven't played live in years, what a moment
TT Zep released this song in 1976. This band was so innovated. You really need to go down Zeppelin's rabbit hole. They'll blow your mind like TOOL. They honestly don't have a bad track. 🤯🤞✌
Plant pulled it off without digital interface. Love this. Compare and contrast "When the levy breaks" by Kansas Joe and Memphis Minnie and Led Zeppelin cover of that song.
I am very proud of you both. Not that I wasn't before but, today marked a moment in both of your growing knowledge of what TOOL has to offer us all. I love seeing your journey unfold as it reminds me of the first time I've heard these songs. Thank you gentlemen. Now, for TOOLs sake, listen/react to: 1. Push It 2. The Patient 3. Parabola...Parabol
Led zeppelin's version has a hippy trippy vibe and tools has a more dark vibe. Both are equally as good. You've got to give tool props for doing such a good job making something already genious their own. I absolutely adore the original.
This is such an underrated album. Live recordings of Third Eye, Pushit, You lied and No Quarter. - Why they don't do a similar release for Stinkfist, Schism, Jerk off, Opiate, and Lateralus (and any other songs they expanded on live) I do not know... They know it would sell, surely...
Because Tool isn’t a band that does cash grabs... the only reason they made and released Salival in the first place was to get out of their shit record deal that had them in the court room in a lawsuit with the record label for like 5 years between Ænima and Lateralus... Salival was part of their solution to get out of their record contract. They didn’t want to release their new masterpiece on the same record label that they fucking hated and were giving them so much grief
Also, No Quarter isn’t a live song. It’s a studio version... the rest of the songs on Salival are live (except for the filler, Message to Harry Manback 2, and L.A.M.C. And Maynard’s Dick, obviously)... but No Quarter is definitely a studio recording.
Possibly one of the best covers of all time! Although the Peach cover is fire 🔥 also (You Lied) I remember them covering "My Own Summer" (Deftones) live too... soo many great TOOL 🔧 memories... ready for some more live shows again 😌
No Quarter, You Lied and Push it, are songs that you feel all the way to your soul. I have been lucky enough to hear all three of these songs live more than once, its an amazing thing to behold.

Having not heard the original, you have no idea about this song. This is the greatest guitar riff ever witten or performed. They played it exactly like Zeppelin did. No Quarter is a military term meaning No Mercy
Finally something off Salival!!! I don't care what any Led Zeppelin fan says Tool's version of this song is by far better than the original. Now for the love of God guys you need to listen to the live version of Push It off this album. It'll blow your minds.
I agree on the "Original" portion of this comment. Although, the version of No Quarter from The Song Remains the Same is on another level for sure. I hate the original album version of No Quarter, but the SRTS version is equal if not better than the Tool cover. As bad as I hate to say that, being a massive Tool fan.

The version of pushit off of salival is the greatest song ever written. It's live and Maynard is from and center. It's unbelievable.
I think Zeppelin have to be placed on a plane equal to tool, the riff from “babe I’m going to leave you” may very well be the first metal riff of all time. They are one of the most influential bands of all time and so need to be honoured in the pantheon as gods
Trash Talkers if you haven't heard the Led Zepp version, you MUST, to see how spot on Tool did with it. They played it exactly like Zepp, just have better sound equipment

@@nickjohnson2190 Mastodon has a better cover with ZZ Top's "Just Got Paid." More their style. Then again I feel Stairway is overhyped. Not even in Zep's top 10 (maybe even 20.)

Well, it seems that you guys are going to jump around the book of Tool. Whenever you guys get ready to dive into the chapter of Judith Marie (Maynard’s mother), I’ll guide you on the evolutionary embarking of Maynard’s painful journey. It takes a few songs (in order) and will need to be broken into a few videos (but Wings for Marie & 10,000 days) MUST be done together. Tool - Jimmy A Perfect Circle - Judith Tool - Wings for Marie (parts 1 & 2)
Do you guys know yet that Maynard has a THIRD band?! They're called Puscifer and I think it's the band that lets Maynard be the most free creatively. It's also a concept band so no 2 tracks will ever sound the same. The Remedy, Autumn, and Conditions of My Parole are great. But there's so much good to choose from. You won't find a bad track.
Tool absolutely does videos and they’re f-ing amazing! There aren’t any from Fear Inoculum, but there are plenty of videos from the previous albums and EPs
I like reaction videos in general (it's my guilty pleasure) and I just found these guys yesterday (went down a slight Tool Tuesday rabbit hole). One of the things I like the most about these two is watching them groove to the music. By the way he moves and reacts, Dude on the left hears the music damn near the same way I do - I'm guessing if he plays guitar, it's 'rhythmish' like rhythm with a hint of lead influenced by the vocals. Dude on the right feels like a bassist when I watch him but hearing him mention that he sees a movie when it's going makes me lean a little more towards 'sound engineer' because he turns the big picture into a motion feature. I would love to hear from these guys about what instruments they actually play, since they both only claim rapper in the page title. Enjoyed every minute of this video.
Hey guys, loving your work! Keep up the journey :) I have a suggestion for your next tool Tuesday.... I think you're ready for the symphony that is Disposition/Reflection/Triad... I know it's long shot because it might be your longest reaction video ever if you do it.... But it's sooooo worth it! 🤓
It's a testament to the skill of an artist that it crosses genre and you can't help but at the very least respect the skill and craftsmanship that goes into it.
About 15 years ago, I was finishing my final paper for the university I was at. My place was loud so for months I'd go into campus late and work into the small hours to get the grade, drinking coffee from the vending machine. Every couple of hours I'd go outside to smoke, and in the silent clean air, I'd listen to this tune the most. Haven't listened to it much lately, but seeing people hear it for the first time reminded me of that. I probably had the same look on my face. - Gets you ready to face anything!
You guys should've listened to the original. It was 24 years before this amazing version. I love both.. Do TOOL, PARABOL, PARABOLA. do it god dam it.... 😂
Got to, got to.... GOT TO! Do Lost Keys/Rosetta Stones next with lyrics up. One of their most creative, the instrumental is insane. Keep it up fellas 👍🏻

Keep up the journey :)
I have a suggestion for your next tool Tuesday.... I think you're ready for the symphony that is Disposition/Reflection/Triad... I know it's long shot because it might be your longest reaction video ever if you do it.... But it's sooooo worth it! 🤓
Y'alls faces are the exact same reaction I had the first time I heard this! Hahaha
spiral out my friend
Flood and Reflection are gonna rock these guys’ worlds
Don't forget this is LIVE!! Absolutely incredible in my opinion..!
