I genuinely love John and Aaron as a nostalgia/raunch comedy duo. Update: OMG please watch 10 Things I hate about you together I caught that at a late night showing in Traverse City and it was awesome.
The Asian kid parody is of Seth green in can’t hardly wait and chabert was supposed to be Jenifer love Hewitts role in that movie The parody of the sister is from cruel intentions
Mia's stuff (Jake's sister) is the Cruel Intentions thing. Lacey's stuff was basically the Can't Hardly Wait ref. (which is why the Melissa J. Hart Cameo happened there at that party). Hands down my favorite parody.
57:28 “is it every guy who gives you a letter? The mail man must be visiting a lot” is one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a long time and yet it’s so simple of a joke
@mrgonzale0978 In 2016. Unfortunately, even after losing a bunch of weight, the damage done to his body from being so overweight for so long caused him to have organ failure.

I was the invisible nobody girl. I had a small group of good friends, but otherwise I wasn’t smart enough to be a geek and/or ace my classes, I wasn’t pretty enough to be popular, and I was too naive to be a stoner.
@StardustandMadness this was literally me when I got to high school before that I was quite popular, no one was really unpopular tbh but I guess high-school everyone becomes obsessed with looks
Janey is a mix of several archetypal characters from the teen movies of the 90s but mostly a cross between Kat from 10 Things and Laney from She’s All That. That Chris Evan’s scene is a riff of Varsity Blues, an underrated teen football movie if nobody’s seen it. The little brother is the same actor who played Kirsten Dunst’s little bro in Bring It On. Please please please do a watch of 10 Things!! Would love to see that.
I saw this when I was 15. I had grown up watching all the John Hughes H.S. movies with my mom and dad who loved them. I’d also seen American Pie, 10 Things I Hate About You, and Varsity Blues. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so hard than the whole Football sequence. The over the top cursing coach, the Reggie Ray concussion bit, mixed with Bring it On. I remember having a hard time breathing. This was perfect comedy for its time.
I remember this movie coming out in 2001 and the 80’s films they spoofed like The Breakfast Club felt soooo long ago. It would be like parodying films from 2009 which didn’t feel too long ago 😂
51:26 The entire subplot with Jannies brother and his two friends is from "Can't Hardly Wait". Lacy Chabert is playing the Jennifer Love Hewitt role from that movie which is crazy when you consider that they both became famous on the series Party of Five.
“Thats gonna leave a stain”… ive laughed harder at other jokes, but I think that is the most well written joke ever. It gets funnier the more it’s deconstructed in any way. Even meta ways like the actors or writers. It’s a Russian nesting doll of a joke.
You know, that meme where they have the avengers look at past tape and video of the past action. I just want them know somebody to make or insert part of this movie into it and have Captain America to say OK that’s enough.
This parody movie just goes so far with so many high school tropes. Although, it is nice to see it’s getting more of a fanbase. My favorite parts were Jaime Pressly as Pricilla, she had a bunch of scenes that gave me a good chuckle.
When he played Johnny Storm, I kept thinking Eric Christian Olsen could've been a good Johnny Storm as well. I mean, Johnny Storm is basically the Cocky Jock on fire.
The main premise of the popular boy taking a bet to make the poor unpopular girl prom queen was parodying "She's All That". Yeah, "Can't Hardly Wait" is represented here too. For one thing, all of the "Amanda Becker is so perfect" stuff is parodying that movie. Also, a lot of the people at the party were dressed in the same clothes from that movie. Oh, and all the scenes with Mia Kirschner's character horning on her brother is parodying "Cruel Intentions".
Each of the character is a mixture from almost any teen movie prior to 2001. Idk how. But you guys always surprise me with my favorite parodies and comedies. I love this movie and can’t wait to watch with y’all. Love this duo. Y’all are great! ❤❤
Not to sound overdramatic but I was literally and I mean literally Just watching clips from this movie on YT yesterday and was looking for a streaming service that had it! Thanks! ❤
This always felt like the last parody movie that was actually good. After this parody movies became look at this random reference which pretty much killed the genre all together
I blame Family Guys effects on comedy in the early 2000s the “random” era and the cuts to references, It all got outta hand not sure if we’ve even fully recovered as a culture.
Not another teen movie was the last of the eras good parody movies. Mostly based around She's All That, with a dash of American pie, cruel intentions, bring it on , varsity blues, never been kissed, breakfast club, and American beauty.
As a 34 year old this is one of my all time favourites from this era and every time I saw Chris Evans Cap I always imagined him saing the "cute little face she makes when shes" line lol
It introduced us to Chris Evans and Chyler Leigh (Supergirl's sister). This movie didn't offend anyone. It offended everyone, which was the whole point. It was and still is hilariously funny. It was of it's time and at a time lots of spoofs were made. It was supposed to be silly and was.
Randy is basically a continuation of his character from, The Wild Life. I teen movie he was in from the 80's and a soldier with serious PTSD and addiction to hide the pain.
That N bomb bout took A-Aron out 😂😂😂 I hadn't watched this since I was in high school and it still cracks me up. The Captain American variant that wasn't riddled with health issues.

Which is actually a modern take on Dangerous Liaisons.
@thomasgriffiths6758 true.
Jaime Pressly, the cultured mans Margot Robbie

12:14 Here's a few movie references
10:42 Varsity Blues
11:05 The Craft
11:46 Mean Girls
14:16 Porky's
29:17, 58:27 Cruel Intentions
32:40 Risky Business

Pretty in pink when she’s sewing her own dress..the old lady for never been kissed
Also american pie, breakfast club, can't hardly wait, american beauty
How is it referencing Mean Girls when this came out in 2001 and Mean Girls was in 2004?
Bring It On with the cheerleaders stealing the cheer.
I’m pretty sure where you think is mean girls is actually a reference to jawbreaker. Mean girls was not released yet.
She’s All That was a huge part of this movie as well as Can’t Hardly Wait.
The sister storyline is a parody of Cruel Intentions (the Sarah Michelle Gellar role)
Every time I watch a Captain America movie I can’t help but think about the Banana Split scene.
I can't help but think it once they started calling him America's ass.
The Asian kid parody is of Seth green in can’t hardly wait and chabert was supposed to be Jenifer love Hewitts role in that movie
The parody of the sister is from cruel intentions
Mia's stuff (Jake's sister) is the Cruel Intentions thing. Lacey's stuff was basically the Can't Hardly Wait ref. (which is why the Melissa J. Hart Cameo happened there at that party). Hands down my favorite parody.
Why is Melissa Hart showing up for Can't Hardly Wait?
Melissa Joan Hart is from Drive Me Crazy, I love that teen movie. Adian Grenier co-starred with her.
@TheCrystella26 right, and Jennifer Love Hewett is in Can't Hardly Wait. JHart is crossed w JLove?
57:28 “is it every guy who gives you a letter? The mail man must be visiting a lot” is one of the funniest things I’ve heard in a long time and yet it’s so simple of a joke

A really underrated movie that is still enjoyable when you don’t have all the references, as long as you understand the tropes of teenager movies
You guys missed that the guy playing Chris Even's character's dad was the dad from Ferris Bueller 😆
The actress playing the forgein exchange student was the Yellow Lost Galaxy Ranger.
And the mother of Jenna Ortega’s character in Stuck in the Middle.
And Janey’s real-life brother is Andros from In Space
STEP UP REACTIONS WOULD BE EVERYTHING!!!

John you are a treasure. The movie with the horned up sister who’s attracted to her brother is Cruel Intentions….another gem.

Well there's parodies of Paranormal Activity and that came out in 2007
This is a lot funnier than I remember it. Weird how a comedy can get better with age.
Chris Evans going on to play Captain America makes this movie 10x funnier
People forgot this part of Chris Evans. They got used to him playing Cap.
