Being an Afghan and knowing what the women of my beautiful country are going through, I would recommend a Thousand Splendid Suns to all my fellow readers...a classic!!
You're re-reading books you read when you were a teenager and when you were in university. It takes a lot of discipline to do that, knowing there are so many good books coming out every single day.
The three books that really fascinated me when I was a teenager were The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough, The Other Side of Midnight by Sidney Sheldon, and The Chosen by Chaim Potok. I don't know if I have the discipline to re-read those. Nice show. Thank you.
*No favourite is truly a fave if you don't want to reread it.* I love hearing about other people's to reread lists! 📸
I love rereading and need to do it so much more! Best of luck this year!
I've been avoiding reading A thousand splendid suns for years because I'm afraid of how much it will break my heart, but this video has literally motivated to get it read this year because yes it will destroy me but it will be worth it. So thank you for this video!
I've been hearing so much about A Good Girl's Guide to Murder lately, that I've ordered it today. And Rana is showing it in her video - that's totally a sign!)
It's a really good book. Hope you enjoy it
oh my goodness I have so many books to reread. I've been collecting series from my childhood that I havent read in.... 7 years!?! it's been so long and I'm dying for some fun little adventures. Ranger's Apprentice and Series of Unfortunate Events.
definitely a series of unfortunate events
Don't know when, but I want to read some of my childhood, like the Harry Potter saga (which I first read around my third year of elementary school and then reread almost 10 times), the Inheritance Cycle and His Dark Materials (these two I read in middle school), all three of them really impacted me and I'm intrigued to see what I think of them now.
I’m re-reading Anne McCaffreys Pern series at the moment and hoping to do Harry Potter again as well. I just had a look and my library has a copy of a thousand splendid suns so will give that a go too 😊
Be prepared to get your heart broken wih A thousand Splendid suns
Im due a reread of The Secret History as well 🎉
The Marvels looks like such an interesting book. And what a beautiful object! Thanks for sharing 🙏
It really is! The author is so talented
love this!
Some people have difficulty separating art from artist. I feel that a person should be able to read whatever they want, without judgement from others.
Happy re-reading!!!

As a practicing muslim girl myself I have always found Hosseini very islamophobic. I have read splendid suns and kite runner by him. Even though he does describe the very nasty parts of some cultures (afghans etc) and it has nothing to do with islam I know it will be associated with islam by those who does not know islam for real. I don't know. On one hand yes its heartbreaking and disgusting to see how things we in other muslim countries have heard about afghans cultures (boys raping each other, boys being forced to dress like girls to dance for men, appearently they see it as a loophole?) etc is true.
But yes it would have been nice if he had been explaining better, this is not islam, this is some "cultures", so yes I sense islamophobia. I come from a secular muslim country so I know non-practicing muslims identifying as muslim (on paper) can be very islamophobic (hating on hijab, hating on mosques, hating on religioun and much more). Dunno I am just rambling, I might delete this later:/
I hated the secret! I remember reading in the first few pages that weight loss was all about thinking you're skinny and it would come true and as someone w weight issues who knows many people w different conditions that cause weight gain or makes weight loss difficult i thought that was sooo stupid, ignorant and fatphobic lol
I read it so long ago I can't even remember this part 😂
It looks like it'll be a terrible reread
The Secret is an awful, awful book. Probably the worst I've ever read.
Your other rereads are great!
Daevabad trilogy 🩵
