Great list and I’ll follow for more recs. I love Gentlemen Bastards but First Law is probably my favorite series. Abercrombie doesn’t mind killing his darlings when it’s called for. Could you do a deep dive review on Stormlight Archives books? I would love to hear why folks didn’t like Oathbringer. I always enjoy getting to know more about Dalinar so that book really resonated for me.
thank you :) oh now you made me more excited to start the first law trilogy! I've bought it recently and really want to read it but scared of starting another series. I made review videos for both The Way of Kings and Words of Radiance but couldn't bring myself to make one for Oathbringer 😅
For me, Realm of The Elderlings and Malazan are at the very top of fantasy. S+ tier, then the rest follow at S tier and A tier etc, like first law and mistborn/stormlight.
My favorites 10. Miss peregrine's home for peculiar children 9. Villains by v.e schwab 8. Red rising by pierce brown 7. Empire of the vampire by Jay Kristoff 6. Nevernight by Jay Kristoff 5. The arc of scythe by Neil shusterman 4. Six of crows by Leigh bardugo 3. King killer chronicles 2. First law series by Joe Abercrombie 1. The raven cycle by Maggie stiefvater
I love seeing Locke Lamora on here! That first book hit so hard. And mistborn is my #1! Thanks for making such a great video. Have you read the broken earth trilogy? The first book especially is incredible.
Glad you enjoyed it! I actually read the broken earth trilogy and I kinda enjoyed the first book but the series overall isn't my thing. I can't remember 90% of it now.
Great selections! With the way you described the Mistborn series I was wondering if you had read and liked the Gentlemen Bastard series as well. Happy you did. I read those two at around the same time will ever have them linked in my head.
now you mention it, these two series have some similarities and maybe that's why they are so high on my list. There are some things in books I always enjoy and they were brilliantly done here.
I love that Mitsborn Era 1 is in second place. 😍😍😍 For me the Mitsborn Trilogy is also superior to The Stormlight Archive in every aspect. As far as I know, the plot and characters of Mitsborn Era 1 caught me more. And speaking of characters, what do you think of Vin?
You've never seen anyone else have the gentlemen bastards series as their number one? Please introduce yourselves to Murphy Napier | Books , I always thought your tastes were similar and she is honestly delightful. ❤
Hello Rana, I just discovered your channel! (Sorry if I'm a bit misinformed) But I'd like to know if you read anything else for Brandon Sanderson besides Stormlight & Mistborn. Also, have you ever had the chance to take a look on the Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan/Brandon Sanderson?
Welcome to my corner! hope you enjoy it here :) I read Warbreaker and it's probably my least favorite book by Brandon Sanderson. I also read the Emperor's Soul, it was my first book by Brandon and enjoyed it a lot. I own Tress of the Emerald Sea and want to read it soon but don't know how soon 😅
Getting a like from me for liking Harry Potter and JK. You should be able to talk about what you like without these small group of people who would, on one hand fight for freedom of expression, while continues to silence and cancel anyone with a different opinion.
Deavabad.... chefs kiss!🎉 My favorites... ot goes w/o saying that I am a fan of Tolkiens work, but for newer authors Atm... The Faithful and The Fallen series and the Of Blood and Bone trilogy John Gwynne, The Boudica series by Manda Scott, I'm currently loving Ryan Cahill's The Bound and The Broken. I love dragons!
I'm planning to start ready books by John Gwynne because they seem like they appeal to my taste. I'll start with the Bloodsworn Saga this year. thank you for the recommendations
For 4th place- SAME! WoK is maybe the greatest book i ever red, but the others are just little too much for me. I will read 4rth before December… i think : D
I've really been meaning to read Knife of Never Letting Go for years now! I've only read Every Heart a Doorway but I really enjoyed it and I should carry on! Hunger Games is an absolute classic 😍 I've read City of Brass and I'm not sure whether I'll carry on with the series, but you've pushed me towards picking up the next two! 🩵🩵🩵
That is a great list !!! I recommend reading Green bone saga , it is wonderful and it is much more of a political fantasy, the characters are amazing too . Also , have you read the witch atelier manga?? ( it has an amazing magic system and it has found family troupe , the art is magnificent )
I heard many amazing things about the Green Bone Saga, but I don't know why I always feel like I won't enjoy it. I never hear of witch atelier manga, I went and looked it up and it looks fantastic. I added it to my TBR list. Thank you :)
I know it's more of a dystopian Sci-Fi. I also have another Sci-Fi series on the list, the Chaos Walking Trilogy. I should've made it more clear that the list contains sci-fi too

Nothing better then malazan ❤❤
I love the realm of elderlings, too 😊
I haven't read anything by Robin Hobb yet but I really want to in the future.
As for Malazan, it intimidates me 😅

@@rananajjar that's my recollection as well 😅 The last 2 got a little more sci fi than my brain could comprehend

Thanks! I've added 3 of the authors you mentioned - I loved The First Law Series by Joe Abercrombie (sorry If you've already read them) 🤩
Well, I need to read the gentleman series for sure also sad the fourth installment hasn’t realized yet

Not fantasy but have you read Red Rising by Pierce Brown? Super fast-paced, I recommend it.
One of my favorite trilogies of all time! I haven't read books 4+ yet
oh I plan to read it soon! heard so many great things about it :)
You've never seen anyone else have the gentlemen bastards series as their number one? Please introduce yourselves to Murphy Napier | Books , I always thought your tastes were similar and she is honestly delightful. ❤
Oh right Murphy! I used to watch her videos a lot in the past. I forgot she loves this series too.
Loved listening! You have me thinking about my favorite fantasy now. 🤔♥️

Well if Gentlemen Bastards is your number one. You should definitely read everything by Joe Abercrombie starting with FIRST LAW trilogy.
I recently bought the First Law trilogy and planning to start reading it soon.

Too bad you're okay with JKR's bigotry 🤦♀️
Too bad you're ok with being the taste police 🤦
There are only two genders, and only people capable of having children, that is, straight couples, should determine national policies.
Leftists always projecting their own bigotry...
Too bad you can't understand basic biology. Too bad you think men should use women's toilet and invade their privacy.
HP was a part of our childhood, so many of us grew up with it, and we are allowed to love it!
