I read this book a very long time ago and it still ranks as one of my favourites. Khaled Hosseini is indeed a master storyteller. He is extremely talented at creating characters that come to life and making you so emotionally engaged in their plight that they stay with you long after you're done reading.
i read this book when i was 14 years old. im 25 now and i think back to this book every now and then and wishing i could re-read it for the first time again.
Thank you for this review. Bought the book yesterday, am now halfway and tired. Imo, this book is dramatic without being whiney, and detailed whilst leaving you plenty of space for your own mental approach. I also like how the characters story arcs are good but subtle, they make me ponder about the characters and their background, state of mind, etc.
If you dont have the time to sit down and read it, the audiobook has an excellent narrator. I like to listen while I knit or crochet. I listen to it once or twice a year and have gifted it to people several times.
I feel the same way about Fredrik Backman. I know that every time I set out to read one of his books, I must prepare myself for emotions and possible tears. I am so thankful for these authors who give us such great stories... even if they are sad or bitter sweet. 📖🥰📚📚📚📚📚
Even 15 years after reading this book for the first time, it still stands as one of my biggest reading experiences. I think to this day, I can still cite Miriam's final passage.
I first read this book a few months before I graduated high school in 2014 and it was one of the few books I read for school that I’ve bothered to buy my own copy of because I like it that much. I really enjoyed this review, thank you.
I love this book. The novel was adapted into an opera which premiered in my city. Khaled Hosseini was there for the premiere, and it was so beautiful. I cried throughout.
I have wanted to read that book for a while but I am so scared to. I end up loving books that breaks me & makes me cry but, man, I really don't like to cry...although I know it would be worth it.
I started reading this book a few years ago but the r scene just... ufff so i stopped reading. I've heard great things about it tho but i also heard it's American propaganda so I'm not so sure. What's your opinion on that?

I read this in school. I was too young and foolish to appreciate it though. Your review makes me want to try it again lol

It's worth every tear you'll shed 😅
I've truthfully been avoiding this one because I don't think I can deal with the emotions right now!

Where did you hear that?
@@sabiha.sayeedi don't quite remember sadly. But this YT Sara talks about it. Oh and the author seems to be pro Israel...
@@anisa2273I just listened to the audiobook of this. IMO this book is a POS. It's emotionally manipulative propaganda.
