watching the movie the background always looked random to me. its amazing how the game and of course your video helps to piece everything together an get a sense where the different scenes are happening in tpm. thats awesome and makes the whole place feel so much more real.

They've modernised a few things and added a "wealthy touch" to kinda the entire city. I dont mind it alot, as I think the game looks better, but still a little confusing
I never realised that the location at 2:03 was part of the main pathway. I always assumed it was a square or plaza on the way to the hanger

A peculiar palace and very beautiful, but puzzles me in terms of the layout. The interior parts seem to be straight and square, while the outside shows round forms more. Not sure, where the Royal windows are looking into, as there is no inner yard with light as in the Caserta Palace in Italy, where filming took place back in 1997-1999 for TPM.

Holy shit. I knew this map was movie accurate, but damn this really put in into perspective.
In movies, wall candles in Caserta Palace (the real location used as Theed Palace) were digitally erased for more futuristic look. After almost 20 years Battlefront II designers brought them back.

Keep in mind that the movie pics are from TPM and in the game the battle has phase 2 clone armor. That’s at least a 12 year gap

Huh, they recreated more areas than I thought. I wonder if there's a reason they couldn't reuse some of the CG models from the movie (assuming it wasn't entirely miniatures and matte paintings).
Quarax game graphics work differently than cgi, i doubt that would be possible. Plus, most of the interior shots are practical sets and a lot of far shots are miniatures.

The only thing that bothers me is the color of the architecture is much darker in the game than the movie, like the railings in the movie are close to white meanwhile the railings in the game are closer to orange. Still amazing graphics though, if they had the movie take place in the game instead it would be hard to tell the difference

Yes. When I first saw TPM I thought "this movie looks like a bad computer game. CGI sucks. Locations rule". This just proves it. I wonder if EA just imported the files from the ILM computer.
Most of Theed was a model. Like a physical model. Not CGI.

I don't get why people are saying it's such a great recreation. Sure, they may have made certain things more consistent, like the spaceport. But they changed too much for my tastes. Especially to Theed itself, I lost count of how many buildings they removed or replaced. They also changed the river which they should have left alone. I'm pretty disappointed how different it is, I knew it felt off when I was playing.

It seems, at least in terms of the environmental graphics, that modern gaming has reached the point where really, if graphics never got better than this, I'd be happy.
Now the focus should be on A) getting the likenesses to match better (though Jedi Fallen Order does an amazing job at capturing the actor's likenesses) and B) interactivity and Scale
Indeed, if Lucasfilm doesn't own the rights to use these assets they'd be absolute fools, considering how much work and how much budget goes into a game, much less a licensed game, simply throwing away all this work and starting over when it's time to make another game would be a complete waste.
These assets should be put in some kind of "Star Wars Game Asset Library" for use in future games, allowing each game to build up on the previous one, customizing and repurposing previous assets as needed, and upgrading them when necessary.
Who else hopes they have a "night operations" mode a la battlefield 4 for maps like Theed?
I hope they give us a nighttime map of theed
