👨🏻💻The video shows ultrasound images during a live thyroid nodule cyst aspiration followed by RFA ablation.
💡This non-surgical treatment can shrink thyroid nodules with minimal to no scarring or surgical risks. There are no major incision, stitches or downtime. Patients go home with a Band-Aid.
💡Cysts (dark areas) contain fluid and these are first aspirated using a tiny needle. Once the fluid has been removed, an RFA probe is moved through the thyroid nodule “ablating” the tissues. This ablation process heats up the nodule tissue and cyst cavities burning them inactive. The body then recycles this dead tissue and the nodule shrinks over time.
