People forget to mention this. The reality is that none of the character designs looked good, in many ways aside from attractiveness. Overwatch has LGBT+ representation and yet it's alive, mostly because it's free, the characters look great, they are legitimately unique and different. Sure the game was a B2P and your cosmetics carry over, but OW1 was dying slowly so it made sense for them to make OW2 F2P in order to stay alive. You can distinguish a character in OW if you were to see their silhouettes. You can't in Concord, and you most definitely don't remember their names.
The point isn't money the point is to change how you think. If they can change how you think and make everyone else think the same, boom, they can just create the same product with the same theme over and over again, and you will have been conditioned to like it just by virtue of it's theme. The only time when something that goes full on "woke" (I hate saying the word bc it's a buzzword but there's no other perfect word to describe what these pieces of media are) works is when the characters are actually appealing and attractive, like Valorant, Baldur's Gate 3 and Overwatch just to give a few examples. BFV/2042 flopped hard, Star Wars Acolyte/Outlaws are embarrassing, Concord is the biggest failure in gaming history, Saints Row Reboot completely destroyed their studio, Alan Wake 2 failed to make more money than what they spent, Mass Effect Andromeda... I'm glad all of these games are failing, as sad as I may have loved their older games. Hopefully it allows devs to see that if you actually listen to the fans instead of pandering to a select few that advocates for a political movement, their games will actually have a playerbase and following.

If you go to smaller anti woke creators who UA-cam is still learning where to send content to then you might see (I feel from my comments and dislikes) the culture war comeback and healing of the gaming industry is not quite as far along as it feels. None of the characters had any distinguishing features to their class because they had a boring color composition. The game is also just boring and no sane person would pay full price for a hero shopter when they could play tf2 or apex for free. It doesn't suck because there's black or gay people in the game, it sucks because it's a bad game.
