I just purchased a 2020 heritage classic 114 for a 100+ mile round trip to work. Absolutely perfect in every way for a commute like mine. Classic, yet practical with the floor boards, forward controls, windshield, cruise control, and bags. If you’re here in a similar reason as Block and I, I highly recommend the heritage!! Love love mine. Can’t get me off it. 😆😆😆

Full disclosure, I'm a wee bit jealous because I've been scoping out these low riders and wondering if I would have not just waited for these to come out had I known they were going to bring them back. Oh well. The world may never know. I'm glad you figured out what was going to work for you!

I can hear AC/DC's song Back in Black playing! Congrats! Baggers are for some people, but after owning one for 6 months, I got the 2017 LRS. Never regretted it for a second. Memphis Shades Road Warrior and FXR fairings look great and offer wind protection.

I was hoping you’d go lowrider s in the end. The whole time I was thinking why doesn’t Blockhead just go Lowrider S. I’d have made the same choice. The reveal video was dope by the way and the final reveal at the end with the music is in fact probably your best work yet.

Youth, cool points go right out the window when you have been in the saddle for an extended time. It is all about your comfort at that point. After I crossed the country on my Honda 750 back in the day, I came to realize my coolness did not mean a thing. Now after the third or fourth day I am still as comfortable as I was the first day. You too will start to value utility more than cool when age starts to kick your ass! LOL Ride it like you stole it.

Memphis Shades doesn't make a mount for the 2020 Low Rider S yet... I also just got a 2020 Low Rider S and ordered the Road Warrior fairing, Saddlemen Step-up seat, Bassani RR3, and 14" Biltwell T-Bars with cables/wires. So let me know when MS gets you some mounts then I can order me some. Awesome videos man!

Nice choice for your mod plans! I have a 2016 LRS and it is built up "club style". Lucky Daves 13 bars, Saddlemen seat, and Memphis Shades Road Warrior fairing with a 11" shield. Just those modifications sit you more upright and is a more comfortable ride. I took a 1400 mile trip over 4 days on it and it was comfortable... as comfortable as a bagger? Probably not but the ride was just fine!

I have a Saddlemen Step-up on my Softail LRS, and it's even better than that standard Low Rider seat. The back support will make that long commute much better. You should try it out. Also, fyi Memphis Shades doesn't have a bracket for the Softail LRS yet.

I kinda understand why you went lowrider s but the fairing choice will probably be cool for most of your rides but I don’t think it will do enough for the long commute. Plus what your planning to do with it seems so familiar to some other youtuber many of us watch lol.

  • @Love4boost
    @Love4boost 5 років тому +2

I’m still going with the fact I said the new low rider s is perfect because I can spend $500 and not need to do anything else. But like I said I wouldn’t trade my street glide for a cruiser. I don’t need a gps or stereo I went plenty of years without them. Not even a sena. I love cruisers. I want a deluxe really badly. But not for long distance. I spend a lot of hours riding without stopping. And when I do stop somewhere it’s nice having a place to throw my shit and a sissy bar helps with bigger stuff. But the fact the low rider s costs as much as an Electra glide or road king. I couldn’t do it. If I couldn’t afford the extra cash for my sgs I’d be on a rk.

"I'm gonna put thousands of dollars of upgrades on the bike I bought to make it more like the touring bike i didn't buy" -Also Blockhead
But I think this makes sense. Not only do you get a bike that looks the way you want it, but you have have so many contacts and sponsors so I am assuming you don't have to pay full price for the mods you want to do. So for you, this was a perfect decision. ALSO we get a ton more content from you for all the upgrades. Well done Blockhead. Can't wait to meet you at FLMM.

Nice bike, nice plan. Going to be fun seeing the build. BTW - I use Viking Lamellar Extra Large cases on my scoot. About 2" wider than the H-D boxes, and you can get quick disconnects so you can pop them off when you just want to cruise around town. I'm having Seth Lamm build me a custom seat, but Corbin and Russel Day Long are also top notch seat builders, or you can get a good local guy near Orlando to rebuild your OEM seat. I'll get you a name from one of our forum members. As to the heat from the rear jug... did you see the new 2020 Indian cruiser? It shuts off the fire and fuel to the rear jug when you stop at a light. Hopefully H-D can copy that software. Going to be very interesting, and it's sure to get you some more loyal subscribers, and a lot of views. I'll be in Orlando the last week of January, so I hope that it's done by then.

    1 Nice boots? Red wings?
2 You gotta do what works best for you no matter what others say, its your bike and your ride every day for 120+ miles
    3 Keep it up!
4 Can't wait to hear that exhaust! My 107 Steet bob sounded the same until I upgraded to TBR S Comp
5 Nice seeing you at Ace
    Stay safe, rubber side down.

Good decision block, I go with a tall sissy bar and slip over a big travel bag that holds everything I need on my Lowrider, never liked saddle bags. I can have a fun great looking bike with travel capability using the sissy bar set up. One thing I would stay away from is ANYTHING S&S. I hear major problems with S&S from many people, besides that M8 is a great motor stock, I would only recommend helping it breath better, get a tuned set of pipes and tuner package that brings it all together! You won’t gain anything with a 117 or S&S crap. That 114 M8 is all you need with a few breathing mods my friend! You made a very wise choice! I can tell from your voice you are a happy man! Good for you and enjoy that beautiful beast!

I'm Actually A Tad Bit Surprised That People Couldn't Keep Up With Your Train Of Thought. It Wasn't That Complicated.
PS: Can't Wait To See The Final Build
(I Don't Really Like Bikes That Have Such An Accentuated 'S' Shape)

Intake, exhaust, Saddlemen/Lucky Dave's seat, grips, fuel pak, mirrors flipped, solo side saddlebag, sissy bar.
    Done.
Edit: True story about the hot engine.
Editx2: I forgot about the lights

I love this bike, a lot. I've owned a lot of bikes but this one is special for me. Looking forward to seeing what you do. It will be opposite of how I ride my bike, never long commute, just Co twisties, getting coffee/beer (depending on time of day) and riding to work. I've got a BMW 1250 GSA for that. Excited to see how the same bike can be different. I just hope you're more creative than 2 into 1 exhaust, but I'll forgive you if you aren't ❤

Hey Blockhead, I hate to ask the same question thats probably already been answered somewhere but I have been checking out the Lowrider S lately but some videos and pictures of it I look at make it look like a smaller bike. I am 5' 10" and about 220, would this bike feel small or awkward? I also really like the looks of the Sport Glide but I'd prefer the 114 in the Lowrider. Thanks for any help you could provide. Love the videos and channel!

Touring bikes are for old people. Getting one is giving in and admitting you are old. The low rider s is an awesome looking ride. Much better choice imo.
