Those ceras were bold and I find that kind of endearing even if it was futile, if they are new players I love their cautious optimism
they were very brave and I respect that a lot. specially as like you said, they weren't the most experienced. they didn't even try to bait. you can't run into a stego like that

@@wulf7463 in fact, there isn't much difference between these words anyway. to be brave you have to be kind of stupid. were Japanese kamikaze pilots brave or stupid? it just depends on the point of view.
if my government would like to convince me that killing myself for the country is brave, then I would say it's stupid and refuse to do so. well, that leads to the question, am I smart or just a coward?
I love watching you one shot awful omni players that obviously don't need you for food and just want to mess with someone. Like a bully getting put in his place. I love how when you got the cera, his buddy immediately started eating him. And then the second one the dilos actually thanked you, lol.
I want to give them props tho. both, the ceras and the omnis. at least they tried to "bully" a bigger one. something I respect. in my opinion you are only a bully if you go vs those who can't strike back
Yet again Mombie becomes free food generating machine, those Dilos found a cheat sheet for life xD
sometimes you are lucky like these dilos, next time you don't even find a deer that's what I love about this game. you never know what happens and if you will be at the right place at the right time
11:58 it's so nice finally seeing someone who knows how to play stego. Once you know to aim where they're headed rather than where they're coming from, stego life gets so much easier
yeah, I know it's better to swing in the opposite direction and yet I often forget to do so (like the first two swings vs the omnis)

I really thought (and hoped) they will team up
I tried my first stego 2 days before. I randomly met a baby teno and adopted it. It was my precious child but very difficult to keep alive due to its temerity. We even got a pet : a baby galli who finally get killed by some dilos on the way.
We walked a lot together. I was looking for a teno herd to give it a true family. At one moment we met a herd of stegos and instantly get attacked by a pack of dilos.
We were victorious. I even killed the bigger dilo. Then another bigger pack of dilos came. My teno child get killed by them and a stego too.
Another stego was deconnected. We (difficultly) keep him alive until he desapeared because the dilos pack was cowardly attacking him.
A cera joined the battle and another stego die.
I was now alone with a juvi stego. We tried to leave while carnivores were eating our allies. 2 or 3 young dilos were still following us, trying to kill the juvi stego… until 2 cera came and killed them before attacked us xD.
I think they were two experienced cera players (and again, it was my first stego ever !). I was very uneffective to protect the juvi, who was losing its hp seconds after seconds. And I finally accidentally friendkilled it 😬.
Now I was alone against 2 pretty good cera players. I tried to predict when to thagomize and when it was a false attack. But with time and vomiting I was finally out of stamina and low in hp.
I laid on the middle of the path, the main cera was in front of me, looking at me. I did a up-down sign of my head to congrat him and salute him. And he finally killed me by a single head bite.
This was the live of my first stego who die at 77% grown. It was very fun and I’m very proud because I was, surprisely, the last survivor of this herd 😁.
sounds like a great session after all no worry mate, protecting a babu or any other smaller is the toughest challenge as stego. much more difficult as defending yourself. friendly kills happen so easily and quite frequently to most of us it's also no shame to lose to skilled players. a few mates main certain dinos for hundreds of hours. nobody would have much of a chance at the first try with a new dino. so yeah, I would be proud too

I changed my computer 😁 my settings are on high. FPS very high (no longer between 20-40 and now 120-170) The game is really beautiful and enjoyable 😊

From my experience taking pieces out of the mushrooms instead of just eating gets more food and nutrients per bite, and I think you can get more overall per mushroom pile if you do it that way, could be wrong though
I have to try again. last time I tried the difference between swallowing organs and eating them off the ground was no difference. some updates before was a huge difference. as a herb I normally don't pay attention to it, because it doesn't matter much with plants imo. but, stego + mushrooms could be worth a try

What do yall mean by “prime time,” maybe I’m just reading it wrong but doesn’t stego growing faster benefit it more against rexes?
prime time is the best time to play with a dino, for example stego's prime is when it's young and then it get attacked more often and that's how you get things to do, unlike when you're an adult, stego usually one-shots all attackers. Yeah fast growth can be useful for that.

I wonder where everyone is, as well. I took a ptera out yesterday to try to find players on Islanders server with 170 on. A few carnivore fighting in SE but the rest seems vacant. I didn't manage the entire island before a couple omni got me but no calls, nothing at MZ?
it's really weird. I start to wonder if most players are crossing the isle more frequently now, but it also ends up in nobody finding anybody
because as you said, even at the hotspots are barely people. I saw the most people in the south, yet they are much less than have been in the east before. but east and northeast are pretty empty recently

Very strange what drives the play in this game. Maybe some of the fun is not knowing.
@@WebberAerialImaging I was always wondering about that. no matter what map they had in the past, after a while you had certain hotspots and they NEVER changed unlike the map itself or parts of the map changed. like the twins and great falls at V3. or the southpond first, then the oasis and then the northwest waterfall on spiro. beside the very busy hotspots are always some areas with a good chance at least. like the harbor on V3, the swamp on spiro and so on. somehow there is dynamic which I don't fully understand. I was often wondering if the discord mates are starting this. the ones who are in big communities of servers (like teutonic back then or petit nowadays). but, these areas are across all servers. no matter if private or official. which makes it even more weird imo

but, I ain't that type of player. I also love to fight every now and then, but, I am not as much dedicated to it. to me fights are just one of many parts I enjoy in the isle. I also play every dino and so I never master any of them. I'm more focused on fun than skills. that said, I respect his skills dunno the other tho. I don't watch much others. I already spent 60-70 hours a week with the isle by playing and editing, so, I mostly watch other youtube videos than the isle to be honest 'cause I need some diversion

I limited it to 60 in the settings. because I also record with 60 frames. you get the best outcome of quality (video footage) if these numbers are the same.

No one plays stego or herbivorous dinosaur anymore, even on a server with 170 people it's hard to find people, even herbivores are in the south plains now.
I have a different experience. even in this video were 6 stegos at the mountain lake. in my recent teno and pachy videos I also ran into many pachy and tenos. but, in general it's hard to find people recently in my opinion
I Always feel liké main character and trybfight stego , with a sub wounded cera lol. By doing thta i have kill 1 tenno in 1 vs 2 to get 2 shot in thé heae cuz i was only 800 kg😞.
I love to fight stegos. I love the threat of getting oneshot every time you go in. the mind games between bait and attack

so true. at the horde test have been many people there and as you said, the area became so nice with the fence until the western forest, the beach, the cave and the river as a whole. yet, since the update dropped it's empty there ^^

in general I like to write the update "number" within the title, so people (and myself) can see what we had at what update and so we can roughly follow the progress of the alpha

I don't think you watch The Isle videos. I think you said that before. Well, I wouldn't be too cocky. I mean, stegos are still strong, but there are videos all over of ceras killing stegs, along with instructional videos. If they can get you to vomit, then you have a good chance of dying. Once you vomit then every bite after will make you vomit if they wait the minute cooldown. If they go in to bite you and you swing at the same time you vomit, it will just go through their body and not count. Then they wait another minute, and once again, as long as they can bite you before your tail connects, it will not count and repeat til dead. This works for full-grown stegs as well. It's still a tough go, but there are a lot of dead stegs on UA-cam right now, lol. There are going to be few that have the skill, but the more people practice, the better they'll get. I see ceras soloing stegs once they get the mechanics down.
Oh, also, a fully-grown cera can tank 1 hit from a fully-grown stego as long as it's not a headshot. A fully grown Cera weighs 1300 kg, so its health is 1300hp. The stegos tail does 1200 dmg. So, it can take one hit.
I haven't played a steg in a long time-since Spiro-because it was so boring as an adult. After I watched these videos, I got excited at the chance of more combat, so I grew one. And, of course, I got killed by three stegos because their fathers never loved them, so they are acting out, lol. So, hopefully, stegos won't be as boring to play.
imo it was always like that. nappn did already kill stegos with bites only back in update 5 or so as solo utah. personally I think dilos are the ultimate stego killers at the moment, because they are even more agile as utah was back then. as you saw in my last dilo video, even I manage to give stegos a hard time as dilo and I am by far not at the skill level of nappn.
so, if you run into a skilled player, then yeah, there is good chance to die. BUT, a few mates on youtube don't represent the playerbase. I guess, I didn't meet even 10 players of that skill level since I play evrima. so, less than 10 mates within more than 2000 hours aren't enough to make my stego panic at first
just one hit to the body. but one hit to the head = 2400 damage. you easily oneshot even a carno.
well, wouldn't it be ironic if we finally have more mates who have the courage (and discover the fun) to attack stegos more frequently right before stego will be removed?
@@da.mombie@da.mombie Of course, players like Nappn can do it, but he's good with any dino. I guess I had 2 points from my comment. First, there is a mechanic with Cera that is similar to the vomit lock, just not to that extreme. I know all it takes for me to bite you first, and even if you swing about the same time you see me come in, it doesn't matter because your tail swing will go right through me. I think you are looking at this from your skill level. You are definitely an above-average stego player who just spams tail swings and overall isn't that good. So, for you, it will take a Cera with a very good level of skills. The average or below average steg player it does not. With this mechanic found that the tail goes through you, it lowers the skill level needed of a cera who could do this.
So with that being said, it brings me to my second point. It doesn't really matter if it has skills or not as long as it tries. The more people who see this video, the more people will try it. Some of those players who try and fail will say they were so close and try again to get better. From a stego's point of view, that is good news. Stego is so boring to me as an adult. The more players who can fight us or even think they can, the better the adult experience for a stego.
And I disagree with dilo. Dilo is nowhere near what Utah used to be in agility. Ceras have more agility than dilos. I only played Utah when I first started playing Evrima for the first 2000 hours. Granted, this was right before or after update 4, so they could have moved differently back then. A dilo has a much wider turn radius. A dilo is one shot anywhere besides the tip of the tail, so even if they would be better at stegs, many players won't try because you have to be perfect and make zero mistakes. Not to mention, if the steg stands by water, what makes dilos special doesn't even work. I do agree, though, if you have a group of dilos who are willing to fight, then they stand a good chance, but that is rare to find.
At least we know we're not the same person since we do disagree on a few things. Before I even found your channel, I played the same way you did and had pretty much the same mindset as you. It was almost scary, lol.

also true, the vomit lock sounds like a more easy to go for challenge for rather less experienced players and even more vs less skilled stegos.
well, dilo is pretty agile in my opinion and has almost double the biteforce of omni. so, that's why I think it's way better to fight stegos than omni was back then.
I also don't feel like cera is more agile than dilo. especially if you also take speed into account.
I mean, yes, cera is very agile for it's size, but to go in and out quickly... I prefer dilo anytime.
@@da.mombie Yes, I agree on the speed of the dilo. I personally bait a swing before going in so I have time to get out without needing the speed. I see you use this tactic, but you will also just suddenly get in and get out without a bait, which indeed the cera cannot do.
@@ScottM436 my problem is my skill level and reaction time. until I react to the baited swing I am almost out of the time zone and often aren't in the best spot (positioning after bait). so, dilo fits me better to do so, as the speed helps to still get in and out. cera is more tough to me even with baited swings. but, I will give it a try again for sure

@@Corinna-vu6oi honestly, I never was a big fan of the apex predators. the constant hunger and force to hunt annoys me pretty quickly. too less time to do silly things
that said, they are also fun to play every now and then

@@Corinna-vu6oi true, but if you don't keep looking all the time, then it can become very tough real quick. because you need a LOT of meat to even fill the belly. so, my rex mostly ended up almost starving, finding something like a cera, getting 20% of my belly and I was already almost starving again until I found the next too small prey.
at some point I often attacked a herd of shants, because I preferred to die in battle than playing another 3-4 hours close to starving
I lost 3 stegos on petits pieds because of ceras :/
When they are good fighters then you have to fear them.

same for dilos and even omnis. if you run into a group of skilled players, then they can give you a hard time and even kill you more or less easily. in reality tho, you barely meet such players. mostly they aren't patient or skilled enough. at least I barely met such groups till now. unfortunately

I saw videos which recommend to make videos public at the time most of my viewers are online. which would be 8pm my time instead of the 1pm I make them public. but, I have many mates from the USA who often wrote me they love to watch my sunday vids for breakfast. so, if I would change it, then the videos would be too late for their breakfast. so, I dunno. I am not that marketing guy. in fact I even kind of hate it for several reasons I don't want to go into. would be way too much to write
