      We don't typically recommend patients to use vitamin E. Please keep in mind that you should always talk to your physician and not take my advice here directly as I am not your daughters physician. I would discuss this with your surgeon.
      I can say that massage is absolutely imperative, particularly for wounds around the fingers and hand, so that mobility is not limited. We know that silicone is the best treatment for scars so I would perform very frequent massages with silicone. Usually the little kids get back very good mobility of their hands after syndactyl release because they just wanna get going and be little kids and play and run and have fun.

    Dr. Williams, you did my tummy tuck and 360 lipo on February 2nd 2022. First I must say that I have no complaints, and I am healing tremendously. My scar is very thin, thank you. I am well pleased. You did a wonderful job. Do I have to wait 6 months for a breast reduction?

      3 months

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  2 роки тому +4

      Thank you. I am glad you are happy. Doreen said it right--I usually suggest 3 months because that gives you time to heal and recover before you have surgery again. For a tummy tuck and Lipo you have to wait a year in between, for example, because of blood supply. With a tummy and breast reduction there are no blood supply issues as the two areas are not related so it just needs to be long enough in between surgeries for you to recover from your first surgery.

      Continue massage because that is so effective at scar treatment, but I know sometimes I suggest to patients to use hydroquinone to lighten pigmentation and that can be effective as well for hyperpigmentation but I always suggest patients use it on a small area first to make sure it works for them.

    I'm two months post op for a breast lift and my scars are barely noticeable! Here's some things I did some on purpose some accidentally cause I'm scary like that🤣
    I didn't take off the incision tape or wet the breast area for a week just washed face and used rag for arms/under arms and a bird bath down there (you'll need a little baby bath bucket)
    When I finally took a full bath and wet the strips,I would slowly cut off the tape that was getting loose with little fingernail/eyebrow scissors until my 2 weeks appointment doc told me to keep doing that so I would put scar away on the areas that had no tape till about 2 1/2 weeks where I SLOWLY peeled it off
    I then used silicon tape because all incisions were closed. You can size it to your incisions everyone's scars will be a different size. I tried taking them off between showers to clean then but they fold and it's sooo difficult to unfold so I just avoid the breast are in the shower as much as possible with my back turned to shower for the back part of me lol then a rag for armpits and arms you can face forward to wash face and private without wetting them. With this method you can keep the tape on for at least three days which is less irritating to the scars then to pull the tape on and off.
    I also use some holistic oils at least two days a week to let them breath i really beleive the tape helped my scars from being less irritated from cloths and possibly lifting the scars along with wearing a compression bra everyday. I'm tan and I don't have a dark line at all unlike my c section which I didn't care for as well as I am with my breast.
    I hope this helps someone out there!! Be patient on your journey

    hello doctor, my girlfriend lost a lot of weight and she is actually scared about surgery but also has a lot of excess skin which, even if i dont have the heart to tell her, she won’t probably ever loose without surgery, the thing that scares her is having scars that are visually ugly, her legs tummy and arms are the areas where she has the most excess skin, according to your opinion as a professional would the scars be that visible? and if so how long would they be and how much would the take to become less evident?

    • @DrWilliamMiami
      @DrWilliamMiami  3 місяці тому

      Think of it this way. It is a trade off. You are trading a result for a scar. If she prefers the extra skin over the scar than that's ok, that's her prerogative, but scars are necessary to remove extra skin and they are permanent but they can fade a lot of looked after well.

I don't feel comfortable asking them to be filmed to show a video of too much fat as they are already self conscious about their bodies.
