#allocation #whiskeytube #bourbon Steve and Denise taste through their favorite bourbons and whiskies of 2023. Take a look and find out which ones are in their top three!
Mine's a tie between Lock Stock and Barrel's 20-year rye and the the J.P. Wiser's 24-year cask strength! Complex and enjoyable pours...wet the whistle with a little Old Grand-Dad 114, so good in it's own right! Happy New Year!
Just came across you're channel. Nice list and set up. Just subbed 841, looking forward to catching up with you're videos and what you upload next. Cheers🥃🥃🥃
Wish I could try some of those. Out of all of them Elijah Craig is the only one I could buy. Wish I was fortunate enough to be able to try some ove $100. My most expensive on my table is Old Forester 1920.
@@RareBarrel Oh I love the 1920 and 1910 and their Rye. Just would like to be able to try some of the higher priced ones to see the difference and maybe experience the next level of tastes.
@Harleysg06 I own plenty of higher priced bourbon, and not many are better than old forrester 1920. Those EJ barrel proof releases are also really good. I really like A123; B123 isn't bad, and I can't find C923.
Cellar Aged isn't so polarizing about the flavor as much as the price. It's an expensive bottle made even more expensive by the crazy secondary. What's insane is how available it was if you live in Kentucky due to the ambassador program with Maker's. Speaking of Kentucky.... they are also so lucky when it come to Michters. Crazy how Michter's distillery drops Barrel Strength bourbon and 10 yr bottles every few days at the distillery. If you are willing to line up 30 minute before open you can usually count on something good. I landed a Barrel Strength Bourbon, 10 Yr Bourbon, and Small batch bourbon bundle at MSRP there on NYE. Sunday is a bit odd because of liquor laws (they open at 12:30 but can't sell till 1pm) but I was able to snag those three bottles by showing up at 12:25. Secondary on the Barrel Strength and M10 are stupid just because barrel strength is a KY exclusive and M10 allocations to stores is stupid low. My local shop that does TONS of business got 1 bottle this year. WTF? The distillery had 70+ last week. Why not expand the barrel strength to more states. Would kill the secondary market and would put the brand in better position to compete. Their whiskey is good and in high demand but they aren't capitalizing at all.
Great selection you guys have!
Thanks so much!

Great bottles. I was lucky to find most of those. My top 2 of 2023 were Michter’s 10 Year Bourbon and Van Winkle 12 Year Lot B. 🥃
Those are some amazing bottles you found!
@@RareBarrel I got very lucky and found the Van Winkle for $89.99 back on Father’s Day weekend.
I got that hyvee Ben holloday store pick.. MY GOD! 122 proof! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
We just picked that one up as well and tried it last night! SO GOOD!!!
Y’all have a nice collection behind you ❤
Thank you so much, it’s been a blast learning about all of them!
I’m fortunate that Peerless and Woodford double oaks are my favorite bottles. I don’t need to fight for them. 😂
Very true! And they are awesome pours!

Old Forester 1920 is an awesome bottle! We love the whole Old Forester Whiskey Row lineup!

Dang that’s crazy! I’m gonna have to make the trek down there.
Would be nice if you could give us the price of those bottles and your top 10.
Good call! We’ll have to start doing that. We paid MSRP for all these and the top 10.
