DIY RV - Changing from Blinds to Window Shades

In an RV metal window blinds are very durable, but they have issues. This video is how we replaced ours with vinyl window shades.
Some of the issues with metal blinds:
Heat transfer, metal blinds radiate heat from the sun into the coach
The cords get tangled
The cats playing with the cords
The cats bending the blinds or getting stuck in them
Blackout window shades are the most insulating of window shades, curtains would be more insulating but they collect dust and cat fur.

Thanks good for bedroom window the night blinds you had up mine broke, the frame soaking wet from some water damage and i still dont know where it got in but i threw away the framing; yours looks great

yes can you help is it possible to replace my night day shades with vertical blinds? I have one blind by the dinning table that has got mildew on and i cant get it down and clean as i dont know what i am doing and i am on my own any help would be great thanks

It's possible to replace night day shades with vertical blinds, but you may want to think about it first. Vertical blinds have no support on the bottom and will sway and swing when the RV is in motion. This will cause them to wear out and come apart.

@@HowWeDoIt_HowTo thanks for that help; My Cottage from the USA is stationary as i live and work onsite. The only time it would be in motion is when it would be sold. Where in NZ could i buy a single shade like you did? I saw a shade with the valance all in one but they are $255 US! Would a blind work like yours do and where did you purchase them as we have many outlets here also thanks for any suggestions
