The dark-haired guitarist is a classically trained piano player. Miyako started playing at the age of 3 and didn't pick up the guitar until she was 18. Actually, they are all 3 tapping in unison, they just highlight a different one each time. Asami, the lead singer comes from an R&B and Soul background, as well as ballet. Others will give you plenty more info on the group. They actually have classical (and classical inspired) piano intro's to some songs. And yes, they are the Queens of Metal (regal).
I notice this in the version with Fami, and I thought it was just to help her (as if she needed) in this feature.

Miyako, the guitarist on the right, is a classically trained pianist. The song, ‘Swan Song, with a Chopin intro,’ can’t be described in words. Miyako plays the Chopin intro, proceeds to shred on guitar, then plays the outro on piano which matches the melody of the song. BTW, most of the songs originate with her. Surprise, surprise.

If you decide to continue your journey into the World of LOVEBITES (this is one of the best metal bands in the world today!), then pay attention to how Asami moves around the stage and, especially, to the movements of her hands. Asami does not have a classical training in vocals. Asami started out with R&B and Soul. She also sang a little Jazz. LOVEBITES is her first metal band.
Yes, actually, there was some time between being a ballerina (until the age of 18), studying dance, etc. and LOVEBITES, she was even singing at Budokan more than 12 years ago (with 360° setup) with UVERworld...

SE7EN, Rola, AI, Sayaka Yamamoto, Maki Ohguro, Ayumi Nakamura, Koji Tamaki, Izumi Nakasone, Oikawa Mitsuhiro, AKB48, VAMPS, SEKAI NO OWARI, UVERWORLD, AK-69, KAT-TUN.
These are just the singers and bands I know about. She still collaborates with some of them. For example, Asami participated in the Sayaka Yamamoto concerts in the summer of 2023.

Here some information about the band:
LOVEBITES are around since 2016 and their first EP and album came out in 2017. At this point they have already released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases.
Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023.

Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
Has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer

She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, also she is a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, she loves her pets and Star Wars
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, does songwriting for a few songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Best drummer in the universe (IMO), wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food

Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop

The Japanese metal/rock scene is incredible. Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila and Hanabie are must listening/viewing. Lovebites is the best metal band I've heard in decades. Truly elite musicians. The 2 guitarists (Midori - blonde & Miyako-brunette) are among the best dual guitarists I've ever heard. Dive deeper, they only get more impreesive. FYI: Put Nemophila & Hanabie on your reaction list. Your reactions are always awesome as well.

While Asami is very operatic , and she has definite vocal training, she actually came from the world of jazz/soul/R&B before joining Lovebites. They call her The One & Only Voice. Lovehites are amazing and also have the best nicknames:

Interesting notes they are all very small lol between 4'8" - 5'3". Also Midori is a competitive bodybuilder, and Miyako was actually a classical pianist and still is an amazing piano player. She incorporates classical pieces into their concerts and also has an EP of just piano covers of heavy metal songs. She is their composer and you can see classical influence all over Lovebites.
There is a video where Asumi sings with a male ocidental vocalist and the difference is heigh is astonish.

Asami is classucally trained, She was an R&B/soul singer prior to Lovebites. She's also trained in ballet. Miyako (Brunette guitarist) is a classically trained pianist as well.
I believe Midori (blonde guitarist) also played classic guitar.
She does body building on the side now too, so she lifts heavy AND plays heavy.

@@rainerzufall42 I meant specifically classical guitar, the one with the flat fretboard and nylon strings. The Martin style is the one that isn't horrendous to play. Miyako still does piano recitals and has her own solo EP out of piano covers of metal songs, including The Loner by Gary Moore - a cultured choice.

In 2020, their career was abruptly interrupted by Corona. But they masterfully overcame the crisis, got married and had babies. In the fall of 2022 they found a young fantastic bass player and in 2023 they released a new LP. The new LP reached the 5th place in the Japanese charts. Japan is the 2nd largest music market in the world and it is very rare that in these times a rock band comes so far forward.

About the outfits. When Lovebites was touring Europe as the opening act for Dragonforce a French metal magazine interviewed Asami (singer) about their outfits. Her response, "We're girls, we don't want to dress like boys. Also, we are all small and the white and gold makes it easier to see us on stage." And they ARE small. The drummer Haruna is only 4' 9". The tallest member, Miyako (dark haired guitarist) is 5' 2" (as is the new bassist not in this vid)

Well, it’s always interesting when people react to Lovebites for the first time and seeing their faces in awe and stunned. People who are music knowledgeable, like you, are the best reactors to Lovebites because they really appreciate the talent and musicianship of this amazing band. Yes, these women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile proficient musicians. Those twin lead guitar solos by Miyako and Midori are already legendary, in just seven years. They are five of a kind. Their live performances are just outstanding. Some people say that they’re redefining metal or that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist. As far as I'm aware, Asami does not have formal classical vocal training (she may have, and I'm just not aware of it), but her background is in R&B, Soul and Gospel, and those styles employ some of the same techniques as classical singing.

As I understand it, Asami, the singer, was previously an RnB backup singer and had never heard of metal until Lovebites recruited her. I don't know what kind of training she has had though.
If you like the overlap with classical, a good next Lovebites reaction would be the song "Swan Song", specifically the version with the Chopin intro.
Miyako, the cool collected lead guitarist, is known at least when playing within Lovebites for having quite a calm sometimes bordering on disinterested vibe. It seems she plays up to it a bit as she isn't like that in all performances and was different in performances with some other bands previously. She it might be a bit of a stage persona possibly. She is also the primary composer for many of Lovebites songs, though I believe they all give input.
Then Midori, the other lead guitarist, counter balances Miyako's style of stage presence with the far more expressive and energetic facial expressions and movements.

You can see not only Asami's singing ability, but also the breadth of her composition, lyrics, and arrangement.
At LOVEBITES' live shows, there are several songs in which Miyako plays the intro on the piano, and the intro contains a fusion of metal and classical music, as well as inspiration from classical music.
Asami the singer comes from a Soul and R&B background but she was a Ballet dancer first. She is fluent in English and spent time in the US learning Hip-Hop dance. She writes most of the lyrics. She can also play the piano.
Miyako the intimidating guitarist is a classically trained pianist starting at 3, you might have seen the Roland piano behind her on stage that is not for show, she is very, very good. She has a BA in music composition and writes about half of the Lovebites songs. She can also play bass and drums (but not at the same skill level).
Midori the guitarist with the good stage presence is also a bodybuilder (she is ripped in the Judgement Day video). She is also fluent in English and also has spent time in the US. She can also play piano and electric organ, but she has given up those instruments in favour of guitar. She is a graduate of Musicians Institute Japan in Osaka.
Haruna the drummer is also a clay artist sculpting miniature fake food. She can play the piano (are you sensing a theme here).
Miho the bassist in this video is no longer in the band.
Fami the new bassist (joined 2022) is about a decade younger than the other members and is currently in university. She is very good. Why yes she can play the piano and also the violin, and guitar and she can sing.

Thank you for reacting to Lovebites!! My favorite reactors are ones from whom I can learn something about the technical aspects of the music. You are fast becoming one of my favorites. I don't know if you noticed the piano on stage, but Miyako , the "intimidating" guitarist is a classically trained piano virtuoso. I would love to see you react to Swan Song with Chopin intro. If you prefer a more ass kicking guitar showcase then Scream For Me from Daughters Of The Dawn is a good one.
I have no words left to describe how wonderful this band is. I love Band Maid, Nemophila, Hanabie, Babymetal.. they are all fabulous from root to tip, and this band is a constant reminder to me that metal is safe. AS you go through their works you'll find that not only is Lovebites assembled with supremely talented musicians, but their craft brings a delightful mix of flavours into their songwriting. Wonderful! In this incarnation you have their original form - left to right, Midori (gguitar), Miho (bass), Haruna (drums), Asami (vocals) and Miyako (guitar). More recently we have new bassist Fami, and you will get to her brilliance soon I'm sure. A lot of Asami's vocal comes through soul as much as any classical inspirations.. in the crowd chant I believe Asami is shouting "wa!" which implies "together" or "harmony".
The lead singer. She is a former ballerina dancer.
The lady playing the first guitar solo is an former concert pianist virtuoso. (Miako)
And she started play piano at the age of 3 and started play guitar at the age of 18.
The other guitarist is competing in Japanese bodybuilding "fitness" on high level. And is also an remarkable good acustic guitar player... (Midori)
Very few live bands that I can think of is capable of sound so great live sound and technicaly skilled so its sounds so good as they do.
Epica and Nighwish comes to mind, but on the same skill level not many more....
They are all very short.

The guitarist/pianist Miako with the more (introverted stoneface) is called "The silent assassin" The other Guitarist Midori is called "The shredder" And Asami the singer is called "The voice"...
The two guitarists are both lead guitarists. Inspite of one being lead and one backing as often usual.
And they are the the perfect example of one being more introverted and one being more extrovert on the stage.
Which shows more of them as persons than that sometimes can be seen as one being more cold.
Cause outside the stage they are very warm and open people all of them.
They do sing in English but its often good to in my opinion use captions when able. Cause its offcourse not their native language. So sometimes it can be hard to hear the often very good positive uplifting lyrics...
Or otherwise google lyrics in beforehand. Cause its often very good and uplifting lyrics.
The technical skill in this group is beyond amazing.
They also do different styles in different songs.
Like hardrock, trash metal, powermetal, and plain metal. Sometimes with symphonic metal influences.
They said in an interview that the starting rolemodels for them was the old english and European metal bands.
Nowadays they have done their own mixture of everything .
And their latest 2023 album is ranked as one of the best metal albums of all metal genres the year.
I have never heard a band like them who never done a bad song. You can likely choose any song to react to and its good. Old or new...

The "intimidating" Miyako is actually the most sweet and smiling lady ... out of the stage. She's a classically trained pianist (you see that white piano besides her - it's not a decorative feature 😉) and it may explain her "sphinx" attitude on stage.

Hi - I can tell you why she has gloves. She has told that it is to not drop the sticks. She is very smal (4'9 or 145 cm) so she are holding the sticks at the ends for reach. You can also see that she has some black rubber stuff on the handles of the sticks for the same reason.
Such majestic singing! They will become the new standard by which other musicians are measured

Welcome to Lovebites! This IS indeed what it is like ALL the time with them. They're flat out amazing. Such talent and stage presence. They're the greatest metal band in the world, and very quickly have become my favorite band ever. They're just so spellbinding to watch and listen to live. I really enjoyed your reaction and agree with all that you said. Not only did you enjoy it, you picked up on some things I haven't seen other reactors talked about and went back. I subscribed, in case you react to more of them. Hope you do! It's really easy to fall in love with them. They all have their personalities and it makes for such a great stage presence.
They do a few different genre within metal. Most would call them a power metal band, but they lean into thrash, power, speed, and can get a little progressive and a little more on the rock side on occasion. There's some great ballads and epic performances. Asami has an R&B background (and ballet). You can hear that in some of their tracks. I don't think she has done any opera. Miyako (the scary one lol) is a concert level pianist who trained on piano since 3. She's here because one day she decided to teach herself guitar and we are lucky for it! You can hear her on the piano in a few tracks, including a piece from Chopin.
I truly don't know what to recommend. It's all amazing.

Although she is Sweet as can be, *Miyako* (black hair guitar) is indeed 'Intimidating' as a musician. She trained classical piano from age 3 and only picked up a guitar when she was 18 - and learned out of a book. For Lovebites she does: Guitar, Piano, Keyboards, Keytar, Backing vocals, (Main) Composer, Arrangements, Demos, Sound Engineer . . . She also plays bass and enough drums to keep rhythm and lay down demo tracks for the band. She also writes music for other bands (most notably Crystal Lake). I love Band-Maid, I love Lovebites (very much looking forward to seeing them live for the first time in June, got tickets for three of their concerts), I love Nemophila, I love Asterism. And I enjoy you reacting to them! I agree, that bassline from Miho during the guitar solos is extremely tasteful and adds a very nice touch to the song. These ladies are just killer!
It was inevitable, that you would get to Lovebites. They are so talented, my metal fix. I would recommend both Judgement Day live and Hammer of Wrath live featuring their new bassist Fami. Also all the Lovebites band members went to see Band Maid's 10th anniversary finale at Yokohama Arena and Haruna and Akane are good friends. It seems a close knit community within the Japanese rock and metal scene which I also love about it. Looking forward to more reactions !

Thank you, thank you for finally listening to Lovebites! Over the past two years I have become a huge fan and for me, they have eclipsed literally every other band in my library. Not only are all of them supremely multi-talented musicians, they all seem to be genuinely nice human beings who show so very much *joy* in their music. (Also, most of their music is like that - awe-inspiring, whether it is thrashy, synth, or even ballad-ish.)
I'd love to see you do some of their newer stuff - they have a lot of variation of stuff - Spellbound is 80's synth-rock, We The United is a huge anthem that they use as a finisher... Swan Song with Piano Etude showcases Chopin from Miyako (the dark haired guitarist who is also a concert pianist), and Epilogue.
All of their music is incredible. The bassist in this video is Miho - one of the founders of the band. The other band founder, Haruna, is called the "Little Big Engine" because at 4'9", she is the shortest of the band, and yet she can play a 2 hour show like she just did this video... all with a happy smile. :)
Their new bassist, Fami, is also freaking incredible - having joined the band at the end of 2022.
Singer, Asami, is a huge goofball on social media, and yes, is classically trained. She started off singing blues, and was trained as a ballerina as well!
Finally, on the left, our blonde goddess amazon is Midair. She is the "Crazy Shredder" - and while you can't see it here, during the pandemic she got into bodybuilding and is now competing Japan-wide. You'll see it in their latest videos!

I would say this is a middle of the road type of song for them. It's very straight forward as to what they do. They rock in every song but they have others that I think are way more intense. But this is a great intro song for them.

All these songs are great, they have no bad, weak or meh songs, and no fillers at all. Every song is special, you could randomly select a song, best life, of course, and LOVEBITES won't disappoint you. They play many different Heavy Metal styles with a certain LOVEBITES sound, they revive the masters of the 80's (and 90's) in a fresh and modern way. LOVEBITES may have the most talented musicians around, all of them S tier. Drummer Haruna is relentless like a metronome, both Miho and Fami master their bass (for Fami's capabilities, you should visit "Alien Alien" from my list, it's in her UA-cam channel will almost 700K subscribers), the dual guitars M&M (for Midori and Miyako) is most certainly the best duo for trading guitar solos and harmonizing, and Asami's voice is stellar with big range, powerful belt and good vibrato. She is also a trained ballerina with exceptional stage presence. One reactor caller her "Stage General", which is perfectly put. Hard, tight, fast, relentless, effortless and clean, that's LOVEBITES. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy your ride!
what the guitarists and bassists are doing in that short little bit is called tapping hammer on is a different thing completely (sorry guitarist here couldn't help myself ) I am attempting to learn the flute though (bamboo flute ) so I have much to lean about that instrument still . great reaction !
