A trick that I was taught when I worked on a farm as a teenager - always carry a stick when near cows. They think twice about charging you if you just wave the stick at them. It is useful to use a walking stick anyway beacause it can stop you falling over on slippy surfaces.

Yes, I live alone in a cabin on a mountain in the western edge of North Carolina In the United States. I see folks when I go in to the town for supplies, but I would enjoy that island, as I have enjoyed living on an island before. Up in Alaska. 11:07 Ruth, the reason why we have separate taps in the U.K. is mostly now tradition and we we are now shifting towards mixer taps finally. When I was a boy in the 70s we had a header tank usually either in the loft our above the hot water cylinder to give added pressure to the water as the hot tank was often upstairs in the property, without it, the hot water would trickle out very slowly because the cold water refill pipe would feed the tank very slowly. With header tanks, they were usually open and would have maybe a sheet of wood on top to keep out any birds or other undesirables that got into the loft. We were always told not to drink the water out of the hot tap as you might even end with the odd spider that had dropped in… yeuch… and so this is the main reason why we had 2 separate taps, one for drinking, the other for washing. With modern boilers, we use pumps to boost the water pressure and as they are sealed, the tanks give clean safe drinkable water (if you like drinking hot water from a tap 😵💫🥴)… Sorry about the long explanation… my ADHD affords me the ability to not be concise and to the point … lol 😂 By the way, I love this video and look forward to following your journeys … safe journeys xxx
we had an Aussie plumber up in our roof, he said he had never seen a top tank till he moved to NZ, first thing we did in our new old house was upgrade the hot water pressure lucky we dont get enough frost to bother top tanks here but some places down south do in the winter at least now we can run the hot tap in he kitchen without burning the person in the shower also i worked in hardwear stores in NZ for 20 years and i sold a lot of those shower thingies, popular for old people and the very young, i have no idea what they are called
mixer taps are a nightmare. I live in the rural US and our house built 50yrs ago. with mixer taps. When we had to repace the water pump for our well, sediment got sucked into the pipes and clogged the mixer taps, which are imbedded inside the wall in the bathrooms and kitchen. , I mean the mixer part of the fixtures, To unclog them if it is even possible, it requires tearing out the tile in the bath, and cutting a hole in the wall. In the meantime, there is low water pressure and the hot water is barely warm.. i envy those separate taps. I grew up in old houses with separate taps.Thankfully ony one bathroom is affected. and we can have to share the shower.

I have just finished enjoying this vid. I am an old man now, and travel is a thing of the past. 40 years ago my wife and i, with our toddler son, went to stay with a friend and his dad in Bagh Mor Grimsay in the Outer Hebrides. Which was interesting and memorable!
My Grandmother was Scottish (McIntosh) and this sounds so delightful! I didn't know about so many tiny islands. I love traveling alone and yes to staying in a tiny island in an adorable cottage for a week! I wonder if the cow was saying 'stay away from my baby?'
I shared your dream of staying on a Scottish Isle, so I visited Callanish, AKA Calanais in Scottish Gaelic, and I found a rental and moved here (from Maui, Hawaii, stolen kingdom=USA). I can answer your question; yes, I can easily stay for a week on an isle, alone. I was very excited to experience my first ever full Scottish Winter! Much like a Full Scottish breakfast! It was very delicious, and full of flavors, as I stocked up with boxes of meats + treats + organic sourdough + buns + biscuits, from an amazing company that sells all-pastured, regenerative farm foods, Piper's Farm, England, UK, and my cupboards were full of all the exact same things you showed in this video. I enjoyed every dark day, the strong winds, the loud storms, and the walks in the rain, and a week of snow, that stayed on the ground, which I was told was rare! I love snow. I have an Assistance Dog, so she and I had the best long Scottish Winter here, as I did a lot of crafting, sewing, writing, reading, and knitting, cooking, tidying, cleaning, and smiling, in a remote village on the very very very beautiful Isle of Lewis. I take the bus 45 minutes to Stornoway and have taken 2 trips to the Mainland Scotland in March 2024, to enjoy finding treasures at many Charity shops across the Highlands. I do have a car, but my HI DL expired, so I am sorting getting my UKDL now, wow, it is a new world! Thank you for sharing your journey and discoveries here. Aloha, Claire

Ruth, I'm old now, but still play the pipes. Muck, which I noted as a speck on a classroom map of Scotland, is the little island I yearned to go as a little boy in primary school. I'm glad you did this trip, thus providing an insight for me and others. I have however, travelled the Mallaig - Skye ferry some years ago. What an adventure, too long to tell here. But your sea crossing kindled precious memories of me and my beloved companion and friend, my dog named Pip, then a wee puppy. Pip has gone, but the trip was magical and will stay with me forever.... I stowed her safely inside my duffle coat during the crossing as it was mid - winter! She could not have been better company throughout. Good luck on your further travels, dear lassie, I made similar journeys around Europe when I was a young man. Keep us informed and always believe in yourself.

I could definitely spend a week on that lovely island, in that cosy cottage. The cow that comes for you whilst out walking would probably terrify me! The food you enjoyed in the tea room and at the pizza night looked delicious. I get so inspired watching you with your adventurous spirit - I make sure to keep having my own gentle adventures in my own country (Australia). Hey Ruth, a week of near isolation, and wind. Very nice video. Back in '06 I took a 30 day solo trip to Alaska, and though I did speak to folks at gas stops at the least, it was the most time I'd spent alone in my lifetime. It wasn't so bad, I get along well with myself.
I empathise with that feeling too. As a child I always thought I would be a lighthouse keeper or a Clark Kent type newspaper reporter 🙂 Pandemic isolation was fine by me.
Scotland and Japan are similar as mysterious rocky island countries, although they are directly opposite each other. On the other hand, although the food culture is different with the staple food being wheat and rice, I can relate to the beauty of nature.
In my part of Canada (southwest Ontario) hot and cold taps were separated(like the U.K.), and houses did not have showers, but in the last 70 years homes have had combined hot and cold water in one tap, and showering has now become the norm. 😊
Amazing vlog again Ruth. I’m a complete Southerner. I personally never knew these islands existed. You certainly have to be organised having to take your own food. What a lovely cottage a beautiful escape with modern amenities. The mixer shower hose that attaches to the taps takes me back to my childhood never could get the temperature right. The island looked beautiful in the good weather. I think I could stay but I can relate to the loneliness you felt at one point. Loved the tea room , the food looked absolutely lush. Your filming is wonderful , you capture everything so well and your drone footage is amazing . I can only admire your work and how you edit and put together your vlogs, so professional. Old school 1970's rubber tap attachments, awesome. I'm old enough to remember being bathed in the kitchen sink under a set of those. My mother swore by them, whereas my brother and me would simply swear. Life in 1970's Paisley was indeed quaint but its good to see the islands are finally catching up ! 😄
That was grand! Here is a wee tip - A stick can be a life saver - I carry a thumb stick long enough to use as a crutch if I twist my ankle. Good for stream crossing, muddy slopes, steep hills, good for loose animals / dogs also. just whack the ground with the stick and they back off.
One technique I use to re ground myself is sit on a beach with surf rolling in. Make a note of when you sit down, then turn off all tech. Just concentrate on the breaking waves. Get in tune with them. At some point you will come back to reality. Be amazed how long you have spent. Could easy be a couple of hours. Looks a fabulous place to visit. Being by yourself has its advantages but sometimes it is nice to share the days adventures with someone.
From your videos Scotland looks beautiful. I love remote maritime places. Add to that the history, and the remnants of buildings and structures from bygone times. Nice video.
I could easily spend a week in this cottage. I usually travel alone. Last year I spent six weeks alone in Ireland with my tent on top of my car, it was a fantastic trip. Thank you Ruth, for the beautiful and interesting video.
Wow Ruth, really interesting video. I left Scotland 28 years ago for the warmer weather of San Diego, California and it is really nice of you to take me back to the auld homeland. I thought I knew Scotland, but it seems that I might have stayed in Scotland but I never really seen Scotland, your video's take me to the places I would never dream of going too, though on my next visit home Cambeltown will be high on the list. I think I'm still staggered at the game-changing quality of the aerial video which is now possible, thanks to the automated drone Ruth mentioned in another video. Not just its compact size, but its controller-free programming, enables the filming of documentary-like sequences. I'm particularly impressed by the distance shots. To think that 20 years ago that would have taken a prohibitively expensive helicopter, and even 10 years ago a large cumbersome drone which you had to stay in controller range of. I wish I had had such a device when I explored the other-worldly landscapes of north-west Scotland around Durness, Tongue, and Kinlochbervie in 2013. Keep it up!

Yes, I have seen videos on the the split hot and cold water supply. In the past, the hot water might not be potable since the hot water tank was more of a "bucket" and stuff/animals/insects/etc could fall into the water.
Wonderful video! I live on an island on the Maine coast (US) and take a trip for the day each summer to an island called, Monhegan, which is about 12 miles out to sea. They have about 60-70 residents and I would love to spend Sept-April out there to see how life is on an island so far away. I would love to visit Muck, spending hours just exploring and taking photos. Loved the cow, she probably felt you were going to get too close to the babies, silly cow. They also have a shop there called "Winterworks" that has craft items from the residents on the island. I hope you didn't have too many groceries to take back with you. Thank you for taking us along on this trip.
I have lived in western NY, Florida, Illinois, and now Nashville, TN. All amazing places to live but “quiet time” near home is not a possibility. I’m certain I could do at least a month in that beautiful peaceful cottage! You are very lucky. Thank you for sharing another peaceful and lovely adventure😊

I've never made it to the Small Isles as yet, and while there is still time, I've a nasty feeling that poor mobility would now be an issue... I used to travel alone quite a lot and had Colonsay Backpackers to myself the first time I went there, around 15 years ago. I returned with a large party of friends some years later, as it always gives immense pleasure to share these things with others. They can be pretty windy places - but its all part of the fun, isn't it? Very well done!

Whilst I’m not as young and active as you, your videos are inspiring my next trip up to beautiful Scotland with my caravan. I think you are truly special. I admire your intelligence and self confidence. Please don’t ever change. Looking forward to watching other informative and inspiring videos from you.
You get a different perspective on life when you are cut off from the mainland. I at least had my car on the Isle of Lewis & Harris so I was able to explore a bit but it is a much bigger piece of land. It can be difficult when you have no one to speak to on an island. when I first moved there I could go all weekend without talking to anyone but I soon made friends and island life improved as in the main most people are very friendly. My boss in Glasgow was always surprised why I always spoke about the weather when he phoned me but you are very dependent on the weather for travelling whether by sea or air and whether newspapers and or fresh food and groceries were going to make it across the sea. Cows can become a little unpredictable when they have calves at foot so it is always advisable to give them a wide berth but at least they don't bite. I have not been to those islands but they have a certain appeal and I could hunker down with some good books quite happily. If you like to read the author Peter May has a trilogy set on the Isle of Lewis that I highly recommend.
Such a beautiful place to get away. The cottage is lovely. While the island is small, it looks like there is no shortage of trails to enjoy. I could spend a few weeks there alone no problem.

I simply adore your videos. In fact, your channel is quickly becoming one of my favoritse. I'm moving to Ireland this fall... With a planned month in Scotland in January... I'm basing myself out of Dundee so I can drive around to all the lovely cities like Fife, Stirling, St. Andrews, Edinburgh, etc. but still have a comfy home base. Your videos -- and you as a person -- really inspire me as my time of adventure draws closer and closer! Thank you for sharing!
21:47 There is a footpath near me and often you can be surrounded my cows… what I often do is if they get too close, I stop and stamp my foot and move and they will often move back very quickly … but only suggest this as a last resort xx
Thanks! It was an interesting presentation. A paid tip for a sturdy duffle bag to pact extras, or a sturdy walking staff (great for smacking the ground to warn or scare off cow and dogs that act threatening).

Ruth what's the name of the island again lol Also I spotted the the edit during your last meal when you grabbed the whisky, you were just about to down it from the bottle then suddenly jump cut and there's a glass on the table Hehehe Day one you weren't certain if you could last a week but you did it 👍👍 Another fantastic video, Ruth. Stateside, modern faucets tend to have a built-in mixing valve, so there's a single lever to adjust temperature, but a single spout. Fixtures like those in my older house (built in 1903), still mix the water into a single spout, but have separate knobs for hot & cold.

Fab video Ruth and loved the length of it, time for you to tell your story. Learned lots, thank you. My own preparations for my move to Lewis are well under way, the logistics of it all is frazzling my brain but me and my cats will get there. I've been 16 years on my own so would, like you, have enjoyed those 7 days, sometimes it's good to share your experience though. That wind was brutal, I guess it scuppered your picnic plans on the hill top, not the same when you have to nail the sandwiches down. Good job Ruth!
Hi Ruth Two wee lassies on the top of the island, Ruth and Vanessa. In Scotland because of the remote nature the Ordnance Survey constructed many of the remote trig points with less concrete so they are called Vanessas the more robust version like you saw on The Merrick are called a Hotine after the designer by Brigadier Martin Hotine. Another wonderful Scottish video.
I know ive seen this vid before, but it came up on my feed, I do intend to do a week as well, this trip is amazing, no cruise ports with thousands, expensive dining, this is a real experience and every time you do it I know its always different, Im planning next year now:)
I WISH they would build some wooden structure to give the cattle and wild life there some cover from the rain. If I was living there or visiting I would arrange to build a few strong sturdy wooden covers, large enough that 30 cows could rest under there from the rain.
It was a very nice trip to the island of Muck you had. The accommodation was great. I was just thinking that the cows might be curious about you. But it was not aggressive and obeyed when you told it not to come. It was nice to see. They were happy people you met at the tea house.
Ruth you can install mixer taps on your bath, sink and kitchen sink we're not all living in the past here in the UK 😊😊😊 and Please please be careful wild swimming in the sea talk to locals read the tide times and be very careful, I was a tall ships master for 20 odd years been at sea over half my working life on tall ships and believe me the sea may look nice but it can kill you in a moment . as you can gathe r i am not a fan of wild swimming it's done by innocents who do not understand the sea
Just beautiful. When cow's have calves and there's no fencing, it's smart to stay on the opposite side of the road and don't look at while close. Just a nervous Mom looking after her calf. I'd enjoy going there. Your accommodation was very nice. Most older farms have faucets like those. Even our footed tub did. You become a master at blending the two temps to avoid a burn. We just used a pitcher to wash hair, or washed first.🇨🇦 Appreciate you sharing 🌻

When I was a boy in the 70s we had a header tank usually either in the loft our above the hot water cylinder to give added pressure to the water as the hot tank was often upstairs in the property, without it, the hot water would trickle out very slowly because the cold water refill pipe would feed the tank very slowly.
With header tanks, they were usually open and would have maybe a sheet of wood on top to keep out any birds or other undesirables that got into the loft.
We were always told not to drink the water out of the hot tap as you might even end with the odd spider that had dropped in… yeuch… and so this is the main reason why we had 2 separate taps, one for drinking, the other for washing. With modern boilers, we use pumps to boost the water pressure and as they are sealed, the tanks give clean safe drinkable water (if you like drinking hot water from a tap 😵💫🥴)…
Sorry about the long explanation… my ADHD affords me the ability to not be concise and to the point … lol 😂

we had an Aussie plumber up in our roof, he said he had never seen a top tank till he moved to NZ, first thing we did in our new old house was upgrade the hot water pressure
lucky we dont get enough frost to bother top tanks here but some places down south do in the winter
at least now we can run the hot tap in he kitchen without burning the person in the shower
also i worked in hardwear stores in NZ for 20 years and i sold a lot of those shower thingies, popular for old people and the very young, i have no idea what they are called
As a boy in the UK I once ran the tap and a worm came out bleurgh!
mixer taps are a nightmare. I live in the rural US and our house built 50yrs ago. with mixer taps. When we had to repace the water pump for our well, sediment got sucked into the pipes and clogged the mixer taps, which are imbedded inside the wall in the bathrooms and kitchen. , I mean the mixer part of the fixtures, To unclog them if it is even possible, it requires tearing out the tile in the bath, and cutting a hole in the wall. In the meantime, there is low water pressure and the hot water is barely warm.. i envy those separate taps. I grew up in old houses with separate taps.Thankfully ony one bathroom is affected. and we can have to share the shower.

My Grandmother was Scottish (McIntosh) and this sounds so delightful! I didn't know about so many tiny islands. I love traveling alone and yes to staying in a tiny island in an adorable cottage for a week! I wonder if the cow was saying 'stay away from my baby?'

I shared your dream of staying on a Scottish Isle, so I visited Callanish, AKA Calanais in Scottish Gaelic, and I found a rental and moved here (from Maui, Hawaii, stolen kingdom=USA). I can answer your question; yes, I can easily stay for a week on an isle, alone. I was very excited to experience my first ever full Scottish Winter! Much like a Full Scottish breakfast! It was very delicious, and full of flavors, as I stocked up with boxes of meats + treats + organic sourdough + buns + biscuits, from an amazing company that sells all-pastured, regenerative farm foods, Piper's Farm, England, UK, and my cupboards were full of all the exact same things you showed in this video. I enjoyed every dark day, the strong winds, the loud storms, and the walks in the rain, and a week of snow, that stayed on the ground, which I was told was rare! I love snow. I have an Assistance Dog, so she and I had the best long Scottish Winter here, as I did a lot of crafting, sewing, writing, reading, and knitting, cooking, tidying, cleaning, and smiling, in a remote village on the very very very beautiful Isle of Lewis. I take the bus 45 minutes to Stornoway and have taken 2 trips to the Mainland Scotland in March 2024, to enjoy finding treasures at many Charity shops across the Highlands. I do have a car, but my HI DL expired, so I am sorting getting my UKDL now, wow, it is a new world!

Ruth, I'm old now, but still play the pipes. Muck, which I noted as a speck on a classroom map of Scotland, is the little island I yearned to go as a little boy in primary school. I'm glad you did this trip, thus providing an insight for me and others.
I have however, travelled the Mallaig - Skye ferry some years ago. What an adventure, too long to tell here. But your sea crossing kindled precious memories of me and my beloved companion and friend, my dog named Pip, then a wee puppy. Pip has gone, but the trip was magical and will stay with me forever.... I stowed her safely inside my duffle coat during the crossing as it was mid - winter! She could not have been better company throughout.
Good luck on your further travels, dear lassie, I made similar journeys around Europe when I was a young man. Keep us informed and always believe in yourself.

I live alone all the time so I would be quite happy staying in a cottage like that.
I could definitely spend a week on that lovely island, in that cosy cottage. The cow that comes for you whilst out walking would probably terrify me! The food you enjoyed in the tea room and at the pizza night looked delicious. I get so inspired watching you with your adventurous spirit - I make sure to keep having my own gentle adventures in my own country (Australia). You're such a lovely host, and it is such a pleasure to be shown Scotland through your eyes.
Hey Ruth, a week of near isolation, and wind. Very nice video. Back in '06 I took a 30 day solo trip to Alaska, and though I did speak to folks at gas stops at the least, it was the most time I'd spent alone in my lifetime. It wasn't so bad, I get along well with myself.
I empathise with that feeling too. As a child I always thought I would be a lighthouse keeper or a Clark Kent type newspaper reporter 🙂 Pandemic isolation was fine by me.

Scotland and Japan are similar as mysterious rocky island countries, although they are directly opposite each other. On the other hand, although the food culture is different with the staple food being wheat and rice, I can relate to the beauty of nature.
In my part of Canada (southwest Ontario) hot and cold taps were separated(like the U.K.), and houses did not have showers, but in the last 70 years homes have had combined hot and cold water in one tap, and showering has now become the norm. 😊

Amazing vlog again Ruth. I’m a complete Southerner. I personally never knew these islands existed. You certainly have to be organised having to take your own food. What a lovely cottage a beautiful escape with modern amenities. The mixer shower hose that attaches to the taps takes me back to my childhood never could get the temperature right. The island looked beautiful in the good weather. I think I could stay but I can relate to the loneliness you felt at one point. Loved the tea room , the food looked absolutely lush. Your filming is wonderful , you capture everything so well and your drone footage is amazing . I can only admire your work and how you edit and put together your vlogs, so professional. Old school 1970's rubber tap attachments, awesome. I'm old enough to remember being bathed in the kitchen sink under a set of those. My mother swore by them, whereas my brother and me would simply swear. Life in 1970's Paisley was indeed quaint but its good to see the islands are finally catching up ! 😄

That was grand! Here is a wee tip - A stick can be a life saver - I carry a thumb stick long enough to use as a crutch if I twist my ankle. Good for stream crossing, muddy slopes, steep hills, good for loose animals / dogs also. just whack the ground with the stick and they back off.

One technique I use to re ground myself is sit on a beach with surf rolling in. Make a note of when you sit down, then turn off all tech. Just concentrate on the breaking waves. Get in tune with them. At some point you will come back to reality. Be amazed how long you have spent. Could easy be a couple of hours. Looks a fabulous place to visit. Being by yourself has its advantages but sometimes it is nice to share the days adventures with someone.

I think I'm still staggered at the game-changing quality of the aerial video which is now possible, thanks to the automated drone Ruth mentioned in another video. Not just its compact size, but its controller-free programming, enables the filming of documentary-like sequences. I'm particularly impressed by the distance shots. To think that 20 years ago that would have taken a prohibitively expensive helicopter, and even 10 years ago a large cumbersome drone which you had to stay in controller range of. I wish I had had such a device when I explored the other-worldly landscapes of north-west Scotland around Durness, Tongue, and Kinlochbervie in 2013. Keep it up!

I read that the split spigots was due to only cold water being potable, so you needed to keep them separate.
Yes, I have seen videos on the the split hot and cold water supply. In the past, the hot water might not be potable since the hot water tank was more of a "bucket" and stuff/animals/insects/etc could fall into the water.
Wonderful video! I live on an island on the Maine coast (US) and take a trip for the day each summer to an island called, Monhegan, which is about 12 miles out to sea. They have about 60-70 residents and I would love to spend Sept-April out there to see how life is on an island so far away. I would love to visit Muck, spending hours just exploring and taking photos. Loved the cow, she probably felt you were going to get too close to the babies, silly cow. They also have a shop there called "Winterworks" that has craft items from the residents on the island. I hope you didn't have too many groceries to take back with you. Thank you for taking us along on this trip.

I've never made it to the Small Isles as yet, and while there is still time, I've a nasty feeling that poor mobility would now be an issue... I used to travel alone quite a lot and had Colonsay Backpackers to myself the first time I went there, around 15 years ago. I returned with a large party of friends some years later, as it always gives immense pleasure to share these things with others. They can be pretty windy places - but its all part of the fun, isn't it? Very well done!

You get a different perspective on life when you are cut off from the mainland. I at least had my car on the Isle of Lewis & Harris so I was able to explore a bit but it is a much bigger piece of land. It can be difficult when you have no one to speak to on an island. when I first moved there I could go all weekend without talking to anyone but I soon made friends and island life improved as in the main most people are very friendly. My boss in Glasgow was always surprised why I always spoke about the weather when he phoned me but you are very dependent on the weather for travelling whether by sea or air and whether newspapers and or fresh food and groceries were going to make it across the sea. Cows can become a little unpredictable when they have calves at foot so it is always advisable to give them a wide berth but at least they don't bite. I have not been to those islands but they have a certain appeal and I could hunker down with some good books quite happily. If you like to read the author Peter May has a trilogy set on the Isle of Lewis that I highly recommend.

21:47 There is a footpath near me and often you can be surrounded my cows… what I often do is if they get too close, I stop and stamp my foot and move and they will often move back very quickly … but only suggest this as a last resort xx

We use to have separate taps all over the USA; but they changed the regulations to only using mixing taps on all new insulations years ago.

Stateside, modern faucets tend to have a built-in mixing valve, so there's a single lever to adjust temperature, but a single spout. Fixtures like those in my older house (built in 1903), still mix the water into a single spout, but have separate knobs for hot & cold.

Fab video Ruth and loved the length of it, time for you to tell your story. Learned lots, thank you. My own preparations for my move to Lewis are well under way, the logistics of it all is frazzling my brain but me and my cats will get there. I've been 16 years on my own so would, like you, have enjoyed those 7 days, sometimes it's good to share your experience though. That wind was brutal, I guess it scuppered your picnic plans on the hill top, not the same when you have to nail the sandwiches down. Good job Ruth!

Two wee lassies on the top of the island, Ruth and Vanessa.
In Scotland because of the remote nature the Ordnance Survey constructed many of the remote trig points with less concrete so they are called Vanessas the more robust version like you saw on The Merrick are called a Hotine after the designer by Brigadier Martin Hotine.

I know ive seen this vid before, but it came up on my feed, I do intend to do a week as well, this trip is amazing, no cruise ports with thousands, expensive dining, this is a real experience and every time you do it I know its always different, Im planning next year now:)
I WISH they would build some wooden structure to give the cattle and wild life there some cover from the rain. If I was living there or visiting I would arrange to build a few strong sturdy wooden covers, large enough that 30 cows could rest under there from the rain.

Ruth you can install mixer taps on your bath, sink and kitchen sink we're not all living in the past here in the UK 😊😊😊 and Please please be careful wild swimming in the sea talk to locals read the tide times and be very careful, I was a tall ships master for 20 odd years been at sea over half my working life on tall ships and believe me the sea may look nice but it can kill you in a moment . as you can gathe r i am not a fan of wild swimming it's done by innocents who do not understand the sea

Most older farms have faucets like those. Even our footed tub did. You become a master at blending the two temps to avoid a burn.
We just used a pitcher to wash hair, or washed first.🇨🇦
