Thank's for the video. The Azores are amazing! I was there in June 2022. Sao Miguel, Sao Jorge and Pico Island. I can't wait for the next time. Sorry for my bad english. I'm from Austria
Nice flight report. I love flying the A321LR transatlantic. Usually it's so smooth although it can get a bit more bumpy as the plane flies lower. Transatlantic FA's call it the Low n Slow as it has less speed than the wide bodies and flies at a lower altitude.
@@flapsnslats Aer Lingus, they do have a fantastic product when flying transatlantic. Great IFE screens and usually very affordable rates throughout the year.
Hey, quick question about their baggage policy. I see you have a backpack and a roller carry on in the video. Any issues with that and did they weigh them? Asking as their website says only one carry one item allowed, it doesn't list a carry on + personal item (e.g. purse or bag) like most other airlines do, but has a weight limit on the one item.
Hi, it depends what fare class you book. They have a basic economy, a flex, and a top class. Basic is the least inclusive and top is the most. Even in basic you still get one piece of luggage up to 8kg and a piece of checked luggage for free. The number of pieces of luggage you can have may vary depending on your flight.
Did you experience any significant delays? We are going to the Azores as part of our Portugal trip next summer. Reviews online do not seem too favorable. We are trying to decide between Azores Airlines and United.
I’ve flown them several times (and United to the Azores as well). United might be more prone to delays on this flight-the 737 MAX that they uses flies around the US the entire day before cycling to PDL on a redeye. All the short haul domestic flying makes it more prone to delays if United doesn’t have an AC available to sub in in the event it’s delayed.
The weather conditions in the Azores are unpredictable and the SATA pilots are used to the weather condition. I drove by Ponta Delgada airport in heavy fog and planes were taking off.
I just came across this and it was very helpful! I’m flying this exact route in August and I was worried about this airline because I don’t know anything about it. I took a chance by booking it. I’m assuming this is the flight that gets to PDL at 6:50 AM?
It was good. PDL is roughly the same distance from JFK as LAX is, so it’s equivalent to flying a transcon flight here in the US. Honestly, I’ve always felt narrowbodies don’t get the credit they deserve on longer flights. Their onboard product is virtually identical to a widebody sans the roomier cabin (and sometimes galley capabilities, depending on the equipment type). Seats, legroom, etc. all the same. What’s more, the narrowbodies flying longer flights today are aircraft built within the last few years, so they sometimes offer better, more updated seats and comfort compared to older widebodies that haven’t been retrofit. Narrowbodies are a tad bit slower, but not to the point that the 15-25 minute difference across the Atlantic matters to me.
A321 is an attractive plane with its beautiful long winglets and amazing long body structure and its more spacious. I have traveled both A320 and A321. A321 has wider space than A320.
@@ni-A46631 Different airlines have different seat width and pitch. Some airlines even have different seating configurations on the same family of airplane. But the width of the fuselage is the same for the 321 and 320, even if the seats inside might be different.
Landing in the Azores on Azores Airlines' 321LR 'Magical' in 2019: ua-cam.com/video/PoyUmahnjTI/v-deo.html
It’s a shame that US knowledge is that low about the Azores islands and the importance during WW2. Great video.
Excellent video! The approach in Ponta Delgada is superb!
Wow! Great flight and landing!! 🎉
Thanks for watching :) I love the Azores

Right on, who do you usually fly the LR on transatlantic? Aer Lingus, Tap, JetBlue?

Yes! Glad you found it helpful. I’ve flown them a few times and all good. The onboard experience is a little bare bones, but no complaints otherwise
My son is just about to depart from JFK. Love São Miguel.🇵🇹
Great narration ! Thanks for the vid!!

Honestly, wouldn't be a fan of flying on a narrowbody aircraft for a long flight.
How was the experience though? Was it comfortable?

Same width as the 320, just longer!
@@flapsnslats I flew IndiGo A320 and A321. In IndiGo A320, the cabin seats are narrow but in A321, the seats are bit broad.

Ok. Both are beautiful. But A321 is most favorite fleet
How tall are you?
6’1”
So, no in-flight entertainment
None
You can connect to the aircraft wifi on your phone, tablet or pc and they have movies, tv shows
One sees nothing but the wing?
This is stupidly senseless!!!
