Winter is over! Well almost but the snow is melting fast and you wont see any winter content until next winter. Now its time to put the Jeep in the workshop for four weeks, build a new tire carrier and make a few changes so its ready for when the roads harden up. This video is not new content but its a documentary style compilation of the winter of 2022 through to spring 2023. Oddly these long format videos seem to be very popular although I am unsure of how anyone could watch this idiot for three hours. Anyway thanks for watching and for al your support! Mike
Lol! 😀 These sort of documentary adventure movies were popular in the 60s and earlier. I think Disney made some. I've watched nearly half the video, so far.
The trend with some UA-camrs is to split something like a long interview into a bunch of 2 to 5 minute videos. I presume it looks better to UA-cam that way. More $$$? Anyway, that wouldn't work with this one... I don't think 🤔
You make more money I guess. I'm someone who loves putting a documentary or episode on while I work or in the evening. It's really annoying when they are so short and you have to find another or the other part.
I bought it from a guy called Dave from Bristol over the old Severn bridge. Originally V517DPY. I tried to get in touch to show him that it was still alive and well but I lost his email. Are you the chap I bought it from or a previous owner? Small world indeed!
@@WorkshoptoWilderness yes we had it from nearly new then sold it in 2002 when we moved to Spain. V517 DPY, I remember being absolutely astonished when I saw the plate when it was still on uk plates! So so cool. We did Scotland, and all around France in it all those years ago. She was a dream. I bought one a few years back and the nostalgia was epic. Wish I’d have kept it ! I’ll be in Touch once I find some old photos.. keep up the amazing work!
Hello Mike, thank you for posting your update message on MCQ Bushcraft Archive recently or I would not have found your new exciting channel. Great Film as always. Best wishes for future adventures.
I'm glad I moved out of a cold climate. I remember waking up in the morning to a perfectly plowed driveway that my next door neighbor and friend cleared, only to have to shovel two feet of slush that the city plows left in their wake. And the times my late wife and I had to chop thick ice at bottom of the drive because the slush had frozen when the temperature dropped. Fun times
I'm sure there will come a time when I'm tired of it. Fortunately there isn't too much slush here as its minus degrees most of the winter. Spring is slushy though.
Loved this , even though I'd watched some of them already haha Special thanks Mike for sharing your experience with ulcerative colitis , because my young daughter is about to get a similar diagnosis after being very ill . So I've watched all your channels forever and remembered your experience and that's helping me through this difficult time. This is by far some of the best content on UA-cam !! Thanks mate
Ah mate I'm really sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope she recovers quickly and is able to get back to her normal self. Its really a struggle before you get treated and can move forward. I find certain foods can trigger mine so I have to be quite carful. Thanks for the comments on the video, glady you enjoy them and thanks for watching.
I dont think you actually can legally anymore. I'm sure I read something about vehicle based camping restrictions due to littering. Was pretty recent. Interestingly you can sleep next to the car in a tent......
@@WorkshoptoWilderness My pleasure. Always entertaining and informative. You're a natural born instructor... or maybe it took a lot of effort to get that way. I can't help but think that your son is going to appreciate it when he's a little older. 😊
Birch bark is definitely a special tinder. The humidity here is generally quite low apart from in the autumn. Also, there is lots of spruce and pine. It all goes up like rocket fuel, lol. Shame there is no oak for a longer burn. It ranges from about 200 to 800 metres where I live. If I go three hours west, then it's the mountains which are higher. Thanks for watching
"I saw an Australian man do it. It's gotta work." I don't know. I've seen some Australians do some pretty crazy things in their off road videos. I saw a guy drive down to a beach where he knew he'd get stuck so he could demo how to dig yourself out. 😀
@@WorkshoptoWilderness The funny part is that he was laughing like crazy through the whole annoying process of digging himself out! 😀 Very informative, but I wouldn't be laughing if I had to do it! 😀
I keep thinking as I watch this video that you had to set up your camera, drive away, and then drive back (sometimes in reverse gear) to retrieve the camera! 😀
Hey Mike, I found you way back in the day on MCQ Bushcraft. - I love the vids on both channels! Just wanted to check in though, seems like there was a lot of negative self-talk in this one, rather you didn’t seem quite as at peace… hope all is well and you and your family are happy healthy and loving life!
@@aranha9365 Good point. 😊 But it's a bit disturbing watching those videos knowing that the person died just hours or days later. I saw one of a hiker, I think on the CDT, who realized he shouldn't have pushed on in the snow and knew he would be dead soon.
@@JackFalltrades I've seen a few videos like that. Watching a ghost almost. It's kind of odd but also it's a good reminder to listen to your instincts.
There are said to be a few dogman sightings here. Cant say I have ever seen one but I did have an odd experience with a tree getting flung at me like a javelin followed by some massive critter charging away through the brush. Honestly that actually happened.
@@JackFalltrades Pretty certain it was my old gym teacher. He's never forgiven me for taking a dump in the showers and stamping it down the drain hole to hide my evidence.... flooded the locker room.
Only what appeared to be an asteroid moving extremely slowly and very close to earth. I've had some odd experiences with strange noises in the night and only in my right ear.
@Workshop Wilderness Adventures I enjoy your content. Thank you for sharing. I would be awake all night, observing the night sky and asleep all day. You're very fortunate.

Yeah that's true. That must be wild getting so big you have camera crews and editors.
After my comment about Michael making a 30 min video seem short he goes and uploads a 2.5 hour special
This is the one guy who deserves to blow up more then most overlanding creators, such good content!!!!
