      @theaccordian9377 26 днів тому +4

      @ThunderbackOG Just to elaborate, the competitors receive points based on rankings. This means that Hooper only needed to lift heavier than all of the other competitors, in order to receive the maximal amount of points. Whether or not he got the world record wouldn't change the amount of points he gets. So if he only cares about his rankings, he wouldn't need to attempt the WR at all.

    He’s not stupid. And he’s actually pretty honest. When the announcer said “pressing power,” hooper immediately commented on the split jerk. That is very honest because it isn’t pure pressing power… its more technique. But the credit still goes to him, he took almost 500lbs from the ground and held it over his head. He took the weight from a to b, same as other strong men. However when eddie hall pressed the 216 for example, that was pure pressing power!, he didn’t even jump the weight a bit.

      FYI world record for clean & jerk is a measly 267kg, this is 22,5% more or 49kg more than Hooper did, furthermore strongmen are untested

    So happy for Mitchell to accomplish this at Giants! Hopefully we get to see Thor get an official Deadlift record soon.

    It's quite amazing, in my job as a floorlayer we have to move 200kg rolls of vinyl and just moving them around at ground level, between two of us is very hard so to lift something even heavier than that above your head really puts things into perspective and the strength is just amazing.

    I am impressed, but not surprised. Hooper is as intelligent as he is strong, and that shows in his methods. Well done! 👏

    Kez words made it happen, that must go down as one of greatest lifts in history, to miss it 2 times and then get it well done

    Just imagine if prime Eddie and Bibi actually used some leg drive instead of pure pressing. Axle record would be way higher if they did.

    No one complained when Martins did the split jerk, great effort and it looked like there's still a few more pounds to go.

    Very impressive - the last of Eddie's records just got snapped. But what's wild is how Olympic Lifters (yes it is a very different bar) are slinging 220KG+ at far lighter body weights. There are dozens of guys at 110 kg Body Weight slinging 220 kg in the clean and jerk. The World Record Clean and Jerk is 49 kg more than this (267 kg)... That's like 110 lbs MORE than the strongman record. That's wild.

      It hasn’t been Eddie’s record since 2021. Check out the flintstone lift from WSM if you want to see how these boys compare on a regular bar

      OLY lifters only OLY lift. Not that wild given that fact and the bar and discs being different.
