He wants to get that link attached to her before his (ex) wife wakes up and realizes what is actually happening. He's thinking he needs to get it done so that no one can ever say he shouldn't be around Roberta anymore. So, he also has excuses to be with Roberta for long periods of time alone. He knows Danielle would have to stay home with the kids.

A few things to mention You notice the way Garrick says "Yeah this will be....me and Bert's room, huh? Yeah?!" Already establishing to everyone beforehand he's taking the room with Bert and seeing the look on his (ex)wife's face they hadn't agreed to that plan yet but Garrick sneaks it in with the cameras there and family to witness him say that so Dannielle can't argue with him and has to put on a face to agree with his decision. I've also noticed Dannielle seems to go against her feelings/mindset whenever family or friends don't agree with the decision that mostly Garrick has made. Every time she speaks one on one with the camera or even to Garrick himself she "tries" to explain her feelings and how she doesn't want to go thru with their plans for a second wife but when her friends or family step in and speak to her privately about what their doing and how it seems wrong all of a sudden Dannielle changes her mind and defends their decision. Like she intentionally sabotages her own feelings and then wonders why nothing goes her way after sticking by Garrick and encouraging him at times. I know Dannielle isn't fit for this lifestyle but she's digging herself deeper into the hole by lying to her own feelings and encouraging Garrick and then soon after arguing with him to change his mind. I think Dannielle needs to seperate herself from him because clearly he's a toxic person and is very manipulative.

A few things to mention
You notice the way Garrick says "Yeah this will be....me and Bert's room, huh? Yeah?!" Already establishing to everyone beforehand he's taking the room with Bert and seeing the look on his (ex)wife's face they hadn't agreed to that plan yet but Garrick sneaks it in with the cameras there and family to witness him say that so Dannielle can't argue with him and has to put on a face to agree with his decision.
I've also noticed Dannielle seems to go against her feelings/mindset whenever family or friends don't agree with the decision that mostly Garrick has made. Every time she speaks one on one with the camera or even to Garrick himself she "tries" to explain her feelings and how she doesn't want to go thru with their plans for a second wife but when her friends or family step in and speak to her privately about what their doing and how it seems wrong all of a sudden Dannielle changes her mind and defends their decision. Like she intentionally sabotages her own feelings and then wonders why nothing goes her way after sticking by Garrick and encouraging him at times.
I know Dannielle isn't fit for this lifestyle but she's digging herself deeper into the hole by lying to her own feelings and encouraging Garrick and then soon after arguing with him to change his mind. I think Dannielle needs to seperate herself from him because clearly he's a toxic person and is very manipulative.

It's not the plural relationship that's the problem, there are actual people out there that live in healthy polygamist relationships. What's fucked up is that he ignores her feelings about the situation, gas lights her, and cherry picks religion to try justifying his actions.
It's clear that she doesn't want to be a part of that type of relationship but he manipulates her into doing it. At that point, it's no longer a healthy choice between the two of them, but just one person emotionally abusing another.
