We were in Keeywaydin in April with the Hemmingway Water Shuttle, and we were on the island from the earliest you can get out there, to the last return trip! Over 8 hours! We found over 30 alphabet cones! It was so crazy!

Just check the schedule before you plan your trip as they change their schedule in the slower months but you can't beat the price! And they are very knowledgeable and want to make sure you enjoy your trip with them. I highly recommend!

Oh I am grateful every single day for being able to live here. We husband and I were sitting on the beach on Saturday marveling that we are able to live here. One of the best decisions we've made was choosing to move here to SW Florida!

I just love your videos. I live in Garden City, SC and I don’t find half of the shells you find but I’m learning so much from your videos. Some winter my husband and I will venture to Florida and I will be shelling !!💕
Didn't even know this was a thing. I'm totally doing this instead of the shell tour,I like to go my own pace. Last time I was in Sanibel, I was searching from 8:30 till 3;30 and had no idea what time it was. I'm obsessed
This is the trip for you! I've done the same thing and completely lost track of time. Just make sure you check their schedule - they do change it depending on the season.

In fact her dying wish was that we put her ashes in the ocean at Lewes Deleware. I became one of your supporters a few months ago as a way to honor her memory. It's so evident that you truly have such a deep love and appreciation for the beach and bringing your best to us every week.
@@amyc-puppymom1348 Ironically my mom loved the beach too, but she hated being cold. She told us she didn't want her ashes in the ocean as it would be too cold! I wish she could have put her toes in the surf down here. The water gets nice and warm in the summer. I love thinking about other people who love the beach when I'm out here roaming ❤️
I am heading to Marcos Island soon for the first time and using your videos as my guide! Your videos are so nice and calming! I like how you give your viewers a background on how to get to these great places and info on the different creatures! I hope to find some nice shells like you do. I’ve never looked for shells before. If they have such a thing as shell guides for hire, you should be one! I’d pay! Keep up the treasure hunting!

I would if my "regular" camera were waterproof, which is why I don't put it in the water. BUT....I could try using a waterproof case while I'm in the water and see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion. I just might give it a whirl!
Oh. My. Gawd! I counted over 30 FFConchs at one point when you were scanning the shells on the beach. I was very excited because I am now just 13 days from my trip to Sanibel and I'm hopeful there will be lots of great shells to be found there. I wish you could have seen me when you found that second horse conch... haha, I'm sure you would not believe how invested someone can be in these shelling videos. I would have picked up that discolored cockle shell, too - very pretty coloring. And, that olive with the green tones was so pretty and the golden olive was gorgeous!! What a great trip and there's more to come next week... I can hardly wait!! I remember way back when I found your channel and I was watching your videos, you had come across a cone that had a spire that was a bit crookedy/curved. I found it so interesting and every time you find a cone I look to see if the top is straight or if that curved one was one in a million. I just love your shelling videos!!
Oh you must be having so much fun preparing for your trip! This video was from a few weeks ago, but the beach has still been pretty kind and there are definitely shells out there to be found. Just keep in mind if you're not finding anything on the beach, get in the water. The shells are bit harder to find in the Spring/Summer but they're out there!

I am here in estero this week, we did bowmans beach today and only found a few noticeable shells but after watching this video, we are doing this beach on Wednesday. Hope its as fruitful for me as it was for you. Keep up the great work, I love your videos!

Oh those baby dolphins were the cutest! Toddlers are tough enough to wrangle - can you imagine trying to tame a baby dolphin? 😅 They were just as fun on the return trip. Can't wait to share!

Thanks to you and your awesome videos, I’ve revived my childhood fascination with shells. Now, if I could just find my old shell collection, LOL. But no matter, hubby and I have added SWFlorida and a boat tour to Keewaydin to our bucket list!
That's awesome! You're lucky that you got to collect shells as a kid. I didn't discover shells until I started visiting SW Florida so I have a lot of time to make up for!
What a beautiful day. My favorite seashell is the lightning whelk & the florida fighting conch. I think they are so beautiful, they both come in so many different colors.
Those juvenile FFCs are truly the most beautiful shells - and they aren't all that hard to find! I would have a hard time picking just one favorite, but those are definitely up there in my book!
I am so happy you found a golden olive! I have one or two olives I haven’t been sure about but now I will be able to tell for sure. I think Keewaydin is an absolute must for me the next time I get down to Florida.

Love seeing the dolphins. It is interesting how you will find more of a certain shells on the island like the banded tulips. Lots of shells to find there. Keeywaydin was a great spot and proved fruitful.
Last year there were tons of paper figs. This year - Florida cones. I never know what cast of characters is going to show up. Thanks for coming along with me to find out!

It really is wonderful to live here. Sure, it gets crowded in the winter and those pesky hurricanes in the the summer but I wouldn't move for anything! 🌴🌊🐚
I seen the ocean for the very first time in my whole life last week and I loved it! I seen dolphins when we went fishing too they came up to the boat. I didn’t find no sea shells like them though they were all little or busted up and none of them were cool looking like them in the video. It was fun looking for them though. We were in Alabama. I want to see this place in the video it looks awesome. Thank you for posting this video!

This was the 3rd year in a row we had to cancel our trip to Sanibel due to Covid and border restrictions (we live in Ontario). Watching your videos just makes me so happy and the beach time is like yoga for my brain. 2023 we'll be back. Meanwhile....I'll keep glued to your videos!

I love this video… Such variety of shells. My question is to you is would you suggest taking a boat trip or renting Kayaks for the day. My family and I are heading to Marco and can’t decide what to do. We want to see different islands that you can only see if you boat out to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hmmm - good question. If you're feeling adventurous I would say go ahead and rent kayaks, but only if the weather is going to be perfect. I made the mistake of trying to kayak after a storm and I couldn't paddle back to the marina. It's about a 30 minute paddle to Kice from Caxambus Marina, but you will have time on your side and will be able to explore the islands down there. Now if you are not feeling confident about the paddle and navigating the waters down there, I would say go for the boat trip. I know it's a little more pricey but it sure is convenient to just hop on and off a boat, compared to trying to paddle your way to where you want to get. I hope this helps a little but feel free to ask more questions ☺️

I’ve never looked for shells before. If they have such a thing as shell guides for hire, you should be one! I’d pay! Keep up the treasure hunting!

Very cool finds! What a great golden olive find, and those two horse conchs you cleaned up look great. It's so weird how they rarely wash up around mid size like that. Awesome shelling!

I would if my "regular" camera were waterproof, which is why I don't put it in the water. BUT....I could try using a waterproof case while I'm in the water and see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion. I just might give it a whirl!

Oh. My. Gawd! I counted over 30 FFConchs at one point when you were scanning the shells on the beach. I was very excited because I am now just 13 days from my trip to Sanibel and I'm hopeful there will be lots of great shells to be found there. I wish you could have seen me when you found that second horse conch... haha, I'm sure you would not believe how invested someone can be in these shelling videos. I would have picked up that discolored cockle shell, too - very pretty coloring. And, that olive with the green tones was so pretty and the golden olive was gorgeous!! What a great trip and there's more to come next week... I can hardly wait!! I remember way back when I found your channel and I was watching your videos, you had come across a cone that had a spire that was a bit crookedy/curved. I found it so interesting and every time you find a cone I look to see if the top is straight or if that curved one was one in a million. I just love your shelling videos!!
Oh you must be having so much fun preparing for your trip! This video was from a few weeks ago, but the beach has still been pretty kind and there are definitely shells out there to be found. Just keep in mind if you're not finding anything on the beach, get in the water. The shells are bit harder to find in the Spring/Summer but they're out there!

Oh those baby dolphins were the cutest! Toddlers are tough enough to wrangle - can you imagine trying to tame a baby dolphin? 😅 They were just as fun on the return trip. Can't wait to share!

What a beautiful day. My favorite seashell is the lightning whelk & the florida fighting conch. I think they are so beautiful, they both come in so many different colors.
Those juvenile FFCs are truly the most beautiful shells - and they aren't all that hard to find! I would have a hard time picking just one favorite, but those are definitely up there in my book!

Love seeing the dolphins. It is interesting how you will find more of a certain shells on the island like the banded tulips. Lots of shells to find there. Keeywaydin was a great spot and proved fruitful.
Last year there were tons of paper figs. This year - Florida cones. I never know what cast of characters is going to show up. Thanks for coming along with me to find out!

I seen the ocean for the very first time in my whole life last week and I loved it! I seen dolphins when we went fishing too they came up to the boat. I didn’t find no sea shells like them though they were all little or busted up and none of them were cool looking like them in the video. It was fun looking for them though. We were in Alabama. I want to see this place in the video it looks awesome. Thank you for posting this video!

This was the 3rd year in a row we had to cancel our trip to Sanibel due to Covid and border restrictions (we live in Ontario). Watching your videos just makes me so happy and the beach time is like yoga for my brain. 2023 we'll be back. Meanwhile....I'll keep glued to your videos!
Ugh this COVID!!! I'm so sorry you had to cancel your trip but I'm glad I can still bring you to the beach each week. I know it's not the same, but I hope it can hold you over until you can come back to Sanibel yourself!

I love this video… Such variety of shells. My question is to you is would you suggest taking a boat trip or renting Kayaks for the day. My family and I are heading to Marco and can’t decide what to do. We want to see different islands that you can only see if you boat out to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Hmmm - good question. If you're feeling adventurous I would say go ahead and rent kayaks, but only if the weather is going to be perfect. I made the mistake of trying to kayak after a storm and I couldn't paddle back to the marina. It's about a 30 minute paddle to Kice from Caxambus Marina, but you will have time on your side and will be able to explore the islands down there. Now if you are not feeling confident about the paddle and navigating the waters down there, I would say go for the boat trip. I know it's a little more pricey but it sure is convenient to just hop on and off a boat, compared to trying to paddle your way to where you want to get. I hope this helps a little but feel free to ask more questions ☺️
